Thanks, though after chatting with my player I have new questions. Apparently the Physical Blasts do not have an Elemental Descriptor, which is bonkers to me since you are literally using an element to cause damage. Seems to me there is an effect on a place to prevent air magic, that's going to include someone who just gathers a lot of air and throws it at someone if their power is magic.


Kineticist question specific to Mummy's Mask Campaign Path.

The Earth Crypt says "Any Spell with the Air or Electricity Descriptor cast in the Earth Crypt has a 20% Spell Failure chance unless the Caster succeeds at a DC 25 Spellcraft Check before casting the Spell. This holds true for Magic Items that produce such effects."

Does the fact that a Kineticist's abilities are Spell-like bypass that? Should it Bypass that, or is that a relic of Pre-Occult Adventures game design?


Ah. I had missed the fact that magic Jar and Possession are in fact Necromancy and not Mind Affecting. So Steadfast Personality will not help with that. Very good then.


I am looking at a Medium build using Steadfast Personality to cover for my low Wisdom. However, I note that several of the saves in the Class Abilities, though they are against possession like effects (expelling entities from Haunt Channeler, Location Channeler, or Spacious Soul), lack any form of tags or Keywords in the description. There is no actual verbage present giving them the Mind Affecting or Possession tags. While I believe it is very reasonable to allow the Charisma Modifier to Will Saves from Steadfast Personality, I am curious as to if anyone has an official ruling?

Find the Alanna Starbreeze novels by Tymora Pierce. They're really good and Alanna is distinctly a strong female character. Her other book, Wild Magic is also pretty good, but isn't about Alanna and as far as I know, wasn't continued.


Haven't found a Dreamscarred forum yet, so I'm posting this here in hopes of a semi-official answer. The new psionic class, the Cryptic, gets an Insight called "Fold Pattern." This allows her to fold a trap into something and throw it down later at people. I'd like some more information on how this works. How big is a folded trap? How detectable is it? The Insight doesn't say there is a limit, so I'm assuming you can do this to any number of traps within the limits. It looks like this ability should turn your Cryptic into Princess Allura from the Trapt game. ( or the main character of the older Kagaro: the Deception, which I was not fortunate enough to play.) This has me interested, and I'd like to have an idea.
