Why yes I do. Mon smiles. Mon Soul steps up to the front of the room to tell his story and thinks to him self. "This maybe a day when my story will reach far and deep across the land, better make it good". Mon grabs a chair at the front of the room sits down and pulls is hood far over his head so as his eyes could barely be seen and drew in a large breath. “It was a cold dark night, a biting cold that makes one pull the sheets right up to your eyes. The wind cut through the air like a frosty arrow in flight, fridged the night air was. But none the less a quiet one…. or until that is when we heard the screams pierce through the night. Like none I have heard in my life time. It was a sound the sent the hairs on my neck straight out. I jumped out of bed I yell for my elders. “Ma, pa what was that?” “Stay out of sight and take cover boy.” Pops replied. “They may be out there.” He mumbled to him self, loud enough for me to hear. But I couldn’t resist. "I had enough training at that time, you see, for me to be a little bit of help." I thought. More likely though, I would be of more trouble then anything. So I stayed back a bit as my father approached the door, slowly he did, walking so quietly I could hear the wind blow from under the door. All of a sudden…Mon jumps out of his chair and throws back his hood with arms out reached… the door flew open with a mighty crash and there in the door way lumbered a massive being one I had never seen before. With a huge club the size of my fathers head, it grunted and growled. My father yelled “Run for it, I’ll hold him here.” With a mighty thrust of his sword he pierced the creatures chest, it reeled back and crumpled to the ground. Ma and I ran to the back side of the house, I peeked out of the window. “Oh by Eristal, there are more in the back” I yelled. Ma spoke an eleven dialect that sent one of the creatures on fire running back across our farm and into the woods. Just then a pane glass, from the windows along side of us, shattered and Ma crumpled to the floor. A large rock lay on the ground next to her, her forehead was bleeding badly. “Oh, no” I cried, “Ma has been hurt”. But no reply came back from Pa. I ran around the corner and observed Pa outside fight fiercely for his life. I grabbed my bow and ran for the door; Pa was surrounded by 3 of the beasties. He took a mighty slash, slitting the throat of the first one and on the follow through pierce the gray flesh of a second. But his sword got stuck; I could see him struggling with it. As the first one fell to the ground grabbing his neck, the third one circled around and laid a might blow on to my father. All I could think was NO, NO, NO!!!! Pa fell to the ground. Thinking to my self quickly, "only with the guidance of Eristal could I pay this beasty back dearly." I knelt down on one knee, drew my arrow as swiftly as I could. I yelled at the beasty, “For Muon Soul…” The creature turned to face me. He was a bit more then 10 yards away. He raised his club, for what seemed 10 feet above his head. He came barreling toward me and a mighty roar came forth from his huge mouth. I prayed and pulled back on the bow string as hard as I could. At about 7 yards I let the arrow fly, so true it flew that I knew Eristal was with me. The arrow sang through the air, punched through the roof of the creature mouth and stuck in his head. His last step dragged through the dirt and he fell with a mighty thud at my feet. I heard his last breath gurgle. I knelt there in terror, “Were there more of them?” I thought. Trying to figure out what had just happened. It was so quick. There was not much else I could do. Just then I noticed a large group running toward the house with torches blazing. I heard eleven voices in the distance but I was in absolute shock. I stood up and looked around to make sure no other beasties were close. As the group approached I had them in my sights with an arrow drawn. “Don’t shoot!!” one of them yelled. Though my mind was racing and my hands were shaking I eased the bow back slack. The person in front turned out to be Lucan, one of the town heroes. I breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing him. There were others too, including one of my teachers, Aneurin. An expert fighter, proficient in many weapons, some of which I had never heard of. Lucan told me that the group of “Orcs”, as he called them, had attacked the village. They had killed many of the residence as they had been taken by surprise. He told me that I must come back in to town with them for safety sake. So I gathered the few things I could carry and went into the village. A couple of my parents friends recognized me and shouted in rejoice. Elated, they were, in that I was still alive and took me in to their house and took care of me. After that my life took a different turn. I wanted to know every thing about the creatures, known as Orcs. I trained with Aneurin day and night for more then a few months. I learned different techniques on how to kill them and to speak their language so they would know who it was that would be there to slaughter them. Aneurin was an excellent teacher. In fact Valken there, Mon points over to Valken was one of his top students and excelled in the great sword. I later found out that Aneurin had just arrived days ahead of the attack. He was an adventurer who sought out many different things, treasures as well as knowledge. Oddly though, he had acquired an item that did not look of eleven hand work. I had noticed it while training with him. I asked him about it but he wished not to speak of it and only responded with “Stay focused on your training. Do not be led astray by such idle thoughts.” So I thought no more of it. Only a month ago and when I heard of the Festival in Sandpoint, I had requested the counsel of elders to get approval to come here and seek assistance with our plight. I received their blessings and packed my belongings. At the same time Lucan, Aneurin and a few other men from the village left to seek out the rest of the clan of Orcs. I only pray they make it back safely. So here I stand asking all those that are brave and kind enough to help us…will you?” After telling his story he step down and heads back to the bar and takes a big swig from his now warm ale. Mon turns to Ameiko, "Was that worth a discount?" and smiles.

Valken, I think I have crafted most of my story to tell for dinner. I think I can tie in Aneurin with finding an artifact [maybe it was stolen from the Orcs??]and coming back to the village with it, only to have the orcs attack the village a couple of days later. Now many months later and a month before the festival, I receive the blessing from the village elders to come to Sandpoint and at the same time Aneurin leaving the village with others, which leaves me hoping they will return safely. So the time frame would be anywhere from 4 - 6 weeks ago they had departed the village to search out the Orcs. What do you think??

Someone such as your self, with great power, with whom I can join forces with and rid these evil doers. What say you old friend it has been a while and I regret bringing such grave news. But by the grace of Erastil we will avenge them. Besides I am sure that Aneurin would love to see you again. You know Aneurin was severely injured during the battle. It took quite some time for him to recover. He told me to let you know all is well with him now. He had got your message but could not respond due to the circumstances and being injured. He had returned from his adventures just in time to help us fight the Orcs. But enough of that for now. We should drink to his health and for safe passage to the elven spirit world for my parents. We deal with those Orcs when we get the blessings of Erastil. Now it is time for the festival and time for us to rekindle our friendship. Bar keep an Ale for me and my long lost friend Valken.
