I've just downloaded the old OSCIR rules for free last night. Anyone still play old school first edition D&D.

I played 1e more than one way...I don't think I ever played with a group that did RAW. Three cheers for PF and three cheers for the OSR, says I.

Hehe, I agree, it seems there is a fairly high percentage (when compared to other rpg boards) of members here who started prior to the dnd numbering system. And many who began with an oddly colored box.

I got the D&D Red Box for a birthday present when I was 10, having graduated from the Peter Jackson/Ian Livingstone Fighting Fantasy books, and 22 years later here I am.

Is it really ~70% of my life I've been playing D&D?

When I was that age, red rule books came in magenta boxes, and we LIKED IT THAT WAY.
