Mentally he asks Mistress Sable if she knows anything about the new lead templar.

I can’t see anything around this thrice-damned turbin. Can you give me a description?

Assuming he does.

Sounds like Strick. Ambitious mid-level adjutant; used to have a higher rank, but there was some sort of aborted coup attempt years back. Rumor have it he has little love for the living dead, though accusing him of such is likely to earn you a trip to the salt mine.

I have never met this Elf before, but something about his personality seems familiar.

MalaKi will mentally ask Mistress Sable to scan for hostile intent. Wait, that’s way to broad; more like scan for overt and direct hostile intent directed toward anyone in the party.

Yes, I do sense trouble. Your friends, the big Mul and the Mantis man: I detect a brooding resentment about them. I think they have fallen under the influence of the items they carry and may quietly wish you ill. Be careful falling asleep around them.

With a sigh he removes Ostro.

Ah finally; a wise decision, my stoic friend! That item would have brought us nothing but tears.

Quite.

Addressing Mistress Sable he says, “The kreen warrior Skarsnikt is a much more capable warrior than I. Perhaps you would consider gracing him with your powers.”

Think of it as a partnership, MalaKi. You aren’t a prisoner here; if you think your friend is more appreciable, by all means let us give him the reward of my abilities. Do not despair though, for there are other members of our little cadre you may find more suitable to your tastes!

Female Psicrown of Puncturing

I know this man, MalaKi. He could be useful to our organization; we should find out what he wants. Find us someplace safe, and I will wait there with the others until you return.

Female Psicrown of Puncturing

MalaKi, why sully yourself with such inferior company? Surely, we don’t want to be seen with…that. People might get the wrong impression.

Female Psicrown of Puncturing

I don’t think he likes me, although I think he would quickly come to see the value in such a partnership. Besides, I think he has already made a new friend.

If we’re leaving, don’t forget to take Sartanis’ scrolls, they might come in handy.

Female Psicrown of Puncturing

It is good to be in the hands of capable warriors and learned company at last. We should act quickly and gather our few remaining members, then settle this conflict.

At last. Real warriors; now we shall triumph! Tell your friend we have no need of that little man, MalaKi. I can tell you whatever you need to know.
