The Mutagenic Mauler is perfect. I may play the mutagen as a drug he is addicted to. The Mauler simplifies the concept and will make it easier to play while I am learning all the new feats in PF. Thanks for all the help with the build. I’m still open to thoughts on it, but I’m liking the way it looks.
Lemeres: That sounds like it could be a better plan. It’s not that I’m bad at math, I just don’t have the gift of optimization. A long time friend can look at a rule book for 10 minutes and make a character that dominates encounters. I tend to build a weak character and then beg to make changes later. I’ve also been away from d20 for a long time so a lot is new to me. I hope to be joining a game with some guys from work. I’ll come in around 7th level. I want a Tyler Durden type of guy. Not a disciplined martial artist, but a brawler. A smooth talker. I can role play the personality but I don’t want charisma to be a total dump stat.
I’ve been binge watching Peaky Blinders and I want to make a knuckle bruiser with a bit of charisma. I looked over the Brawler class and it looks pretty good. My problem is, I have never been good at the math of character building. So, how good is the Brawler? Can he keep up with his peers? And what’s a good build?
I have been playing rpgs for a very long time, but it haven’t played in the last 10 years. Now the opportunity to play has come up and I am excited to get back into it. I played 3.5, but this will be my first Pathfinder game. I am interested in playing a scoundrel. Not a bad guy, but one who can cheat at cards or dice. A guy who can hold his own ina battle of wits and with a sword. I’m thinking a dex based melee character with a reasonable cha. Is this doable? I don’t need to be the baddest guy on the field, but I don’t want to feel useless in combat. I don’t know the creation rules yet, so just an idea of how stats should be arrayed will work. Thanks in advance. |
