You have a bit of a foreign look to you Lueck, so you may not know, But Andoran doesn't have nobles. They don't tolerate slaves either, but here in this backwater things are not so cut and dry I'm afraid, actually nothing is dry right now. Snorgen laughs heartily at his own bad joke. Whipping away a tear from his eye when he catches his breath he says, Oh, I think I have had enough of this! He smiles as he moves the cup toward the center of the table. Yes, yes the food here at Jak's is very good his wife is a wonderful cook.He nods in agreement with your wish for long life. Well thank you Lueck. You are a good sort yourself. Well I had grander dreams as a young man, I always had plans of opening a library. I wanted to have a small academy of learning.I took a job with the consortium. I have always been good with numbers and scribe work. I thought A few years, and I would start on my Library, but it never seemed to happen. I don't much care for Kreed, but to be honest I'm afraid to just quit. he sighs mournfully Oh, I don't think the sheriff fears Kreed at all. He does the best he can. He hasn't been at it terribly long. I fear he is going to stand up to Kreed, and end up dead though. He does have the power and numbers to fear. The magistrate could be a good fellow I am sure of it, but he is more afraid of Kreed than I am.Snorgen sits back a little askew You know Lueck I think that brandy has gone to my head. I warned you I don't drink often, and I think instead of heading back up the hill in this muck I am going to take a room here for the night. Yes, I think that is a sound idea. He nods.

Oh the Hollow isn't quite like the rest of Andoran, you see here the consortium is all powerful. They rule as if they were nobles and the people there serfs. It has been this way for along time, and will probably stay this way for even longer. Snorgen sighs Trevor over there was sold to Master Denko when he was just a wee lad. He was meant to be an indentured servant in name mind you, but folks know how Denko treats his servants, and slave would be the more appropriate term. Well Trevor and Denko's youngest daughter had always been friends she tried to protect him from her father. This blossomed into young love. When Denko discovered them he was outraged. She told Trevor to run as she had many times saving him from beatings. This time Denko struck out at his daughter. He killed her! Of course it was an accident so everyone says. I know he did it on purpose though. Trevor was taken in by the temple, and Denko's hate has reached an all new high ole "Thin Ben" has even got Kreed thinking of doing something more drastic then he has tried. Snorgen tips back his cup draining the contents Kreed is the Gavel of the consortium; that makes him lord of the land round here, Denko is his second basically. They don't let anything take hold that may be a challenge to their power. Look at the poor magistrate he does his best, but he knows what would happen if he started going against the consortium. Shana was behind the election of the sheriff. They see her as the source of their troubles. Snorgen quickly stops talking as Wilina comes with your tray of food. The stew was excellent, but the roast mutton before you looks exquisite. You have a feeling that if Jak'a'Napes wasn't at the edge of the realm it may be much more well known.

Taking another drink from his cup he too noticeably is slowing down on the drink, his cheeks beginning to flush. Oh I mainly meant the sickness, but now that you mention it. he leans in conspiratorially When I saw young Trevor over there I couldn't help thinking of the temple of Iomedae. I fear Kreed is going to take more drastic action against the priestess. She has began having a bit more sway then Kreed cares for, and young Trevor has made Master Denko outraged. I have never seen him the way he has been acting lately he usually so.. Snorgen hesitates Well lets just say master Denko has always been a bit of a suck up to Gavel Kreed, and well lately he has been a bit vocal in his opinions shall we say. Snorgen sips at the brandy obviously beginning to feel its affects. I believe I am a bit drunk my friend. Please forgive me if I talk out of turn. I hope our conversation can stay between us after all if any of this got back to my bosses I would be in big trouble.
oh well thank you lad, it has been a bugger of a day. First standing out there waiting for the caravan to show, and then having to go back and inventory the lists. Gavel Kreed is in a foul mood indeed, what with all the sick folk in town and production being down because of the rain and the sickness. Snorgen shakes his head, drinking his brandy, but not to quickly. This is some nice stuff. Just what i needed to end the day. I think the thought of a nice drink and conversation got me through that last hour or two. He looks over to the table Lueck was sitting at. I must say that trouble seems to be brewing in the hollow. I hope the food comes soon I am famished.
I am fine with that. ok Everyone the "dinner scene" with Lueck and Snorgen is going to play out parallel to the well investigation for in game purpose consider the investigation of the wells to occur after you all have supper and Lueck has rejoined the group.
Snorgen waves to Lueck as he comes into the Inn. He joins you at a table a distance from other tables. Well it seems the rain is letting up. Perhaps we will get a bit of a reprieve. Mister Snorgen waves Wilina over. Dear if you would be so kind to bring us a couple of dinner platters over when they are ready I would be much appreciative.
A bit of time passes before Snorgen arrives, but in interest of keeping the game moving I wanted to go ahead and post. Rufus if you are still with us I need you to start posting, I don't want to see things fall apart before we really get going so I will consider replacing anyone who doesn't seem to want to post. I don't want to jump the gun, what do you guys think on missing posts how much time should people have before we press on. Do you all think we should replace people as we go or wait until it seems we really need to add more people to the party? your thought on this are appreciated.
Snorgen takes the offered tankard. Oh thank you sir. You are to kind. After a healthy drink. He says Oh I do like to taste a bit of the good stuff now and again. Mind I'm no drunkard! On days like this though it is nice to have a bit of something to warm the spirit. he smiles after another sip then continues oh I don't drink at the office, and once business is done for the day it is locked up tighter then a nunnery under siege by adherents to Calistra. I would be happy to join you for a drink though. Where are you staying? Jak'a' Napes I suppose eh? You bring the brandy I'll buy supper eh? Snorgen nods.
Lueck wrote: Mr. Snorgen, was it? Right now I mean to get out of the rain and warm myself. I was thinking about picking up a little work here, perhaps until the rains make travel a bit more pleasant. Is there someplace I can contact you if I decide to take you up on your offer?
Snorgen points across to the palisaded hill. Over on the hill in High Town is the Hall of the Lumber Consortium. I am the head clerk. The last with a sigh of pride. Gavel Kreed needed me to see the caravan switch out went smoothly of course. Get the official count, ensure the incoming goods were properly accounted for. He follows you as you walk over to where Nikolae is tugging on the rope pulling along side a large fellow. Steadily the ferry makes progress across the large river. Snorgen eyes the bottle again. Quite the chill in the air with all this rain eh?
Lueck, Mister Snorgen approaches you. Eying your bottle the man is as completely drenched as you are.
I happened to over hear you talking with ol' Hobart. You and your friends aren't going back with the caravan? Might I ask what your plans are in the Hollow? I work for some men that are always looking for a good sword. Snorgen looks you over adding You look like a capable lad.
