"This is EXACTLY what I'm getting at! Slavery persists because slaveowners don't care about the rights and dignity of others! Because they care about money!" The man sets the cage on the lap, monkey skeleton still motionless. He points skyward. "But slaves require expenditures- housing, food, water, hopefully clothing and medicine! Skeletons don't have that problem- they'll keep working until they break down, won't cost you any upkeep, and are virtually incapable of disobedience! If they don't care if slavery is evil... maybe they'll care if it's not cost-effective?"
"I am in full support of these anti-slavery measures!" Shouts a frail looking middle-aged man. "After all, slavery is terribly inefficient! Slaves get tired! They want to eat! They want to sleep! They want to stop working! But the voices in my head have a solution! Tell me..." The man reaches to his feet, and pulls up a cage containing a skeletal monkey.
