Sorry gang, busy time at work! The music on the music box picks up in both speed and volume as they approach the obelisk. It's almost like it's...excited that they're nearing it. Milo desperately hits the button again, but it has no effect, so he crams it into his bag, uselessly. Panicking, he drops it on the ground, hoping that people pay more attention to it than to him. With all this commotion going on, he of course doesn't go anywhere near the jeweled flower. Too much heat on him!

It'll certainly give away that he's stolen something. It could just be a music box or an an elaborate interactive art piece. It could be functional, like a weapon or a tool. It's entirely out of his best interests to push that button. Dangerous even. There's no way he should ever push that button. Just hang on to the sphere, keep it safe. Maybe sell it if he gets the chance. Pushing the button only ends poorly for Milo. Milo pushes the button.

It's a piece of art from her throne room. Milo just couldn't help himself. It was so beautiful. An abstract sculpture, he assumes. It's about the size of two fists together, a silver ball covered in intricate runes and script.

Milo scrunches his face a bit. Have you ever heard of something like this before? Any idea where the Skaven could have gotten something like it? You can imagine that something like this could significantly benefit my efforts

After watching the elves do yoga a bit, Milo shyly moves to join the group once Archepex arrives. Mr. Archepex, sir...I, gosh, I don't even know how to ask this, but...well...I mean, you turn invisible sometimes. How...how do you do that?

I need bonds. I'm going to throw some out, people let me know if they're cool. Archepex has a magical treasure I covet. I will find one of my own, or convince him to give it to me

Milo relishes the attention, and if he develops the nickname "Bladecatcher", he can hardly control that. He doesn't know if elves have taverns, but if they do, he'll"" be there, letting grateful citizens reward him with drinks.

Already standing next to Lyntel, Milo offers his assistance A buddy of mine, Rodrick, he had a bad blow to the head. Some ruffians down at the docks though that the block he was working was theirs. Rod disagreed and some blows were exchanged. Realizing he is rambling, Milo gets to the point The point is, the local doc, not with magic but with herbs and the like, the local doc said that Rod couldn't go to sleep all day. Might not wake up, you know? So I helped him stay awake. I...I can help you, if you need.

Milo turns to watch the proceedings. He can tell there is no small amount of gravity in what is occurring and that he may be among a few humans to ever witness Elf justice like this. Plus, he might be standing there some day. Would be good to get an understanding of what not to do.

Milo isn't TOTALLY sure what's happening, but it seems to be positive. That being said, he keeps careful eye for what's going on while this big show is happening. Another ambush perhaps? discern realities: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6 Errr...I hope not

Milo pockets the throwing knives. He hopes to have the chance to return them to the Skaven personally. He cocks his head at the noise. Sounds to me that guards are chasing the remaining Skaven into the woods, but we have no real way of knowing who is part of this conspiracy. We'll need to get ourselves and the queen and any surviving hostages out of Elven territory as quickly as we can.

While the others mill over if they should execute a prisoner (which Milo feels quite strongly they should not, but doesn't really feel it his place to say at the moment), he picks up his knapsack, now bestudded with brand new throwing knives. How many knives did I collect?
Male Human Level 1 Thief HP 14/18 XP 3/8 Armor 1 | STR -1 | DEX 2 | CON 0 | INT 0 | WIS 1 | CHA 1 |
The queen is not getting stabbed on my watch! Using the same deadshot precision I use to pick a lock in the dark or put an arrow through a ratling from 100 yards I hurl my knapsack directly in the path of the kunai, letting it intercept the throwing knives. defy danger dex: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 5) + 2 = 10 As soon as the bag is in the air, Milo attempts to race after the Commander as he exits the fog

Milo thinks this would have had to take some time, and be concealed by multiple people. This conspiracy likely goes beyond a single man. My voice joins Archepex's They weren't smuggled in either. Someone built them a special door right in. This corruption runs deep.

After a moment, he rethinks his answer, seeing the responses from the rest of the party. Listen...I might not have the same background with the Skaven as the rest of you, but they tried to kill me too. I'll be loyal and dedicated to this fight. You can count on that. I look closely around the room to see if there's anything out of the ordinary. trap expert: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 5) + 2 = 9 1 hold: What else is hidden here?

Either way. I'm not feeling pushed, by the way. I just want to do what's best for the story. If it helps, I can retcon his backstory a little bit, make him a war orphan or something of the like. Give him a dog in this fight.

Maybe Milo has some sort of knowledge/background/skill that's necessary for the next segment of our quest? Alternatively, I can scrap Milo and roll someone else who is better integrated in to the group (maybe an Elven Ranger assigned to the group to fight the Skaven or something?

Milo does his best not to flinch at Archepex's gaze. I already have done things that would turn my mother's hair white, if it wasn't already. And the real deal is what I'm looking for. I'm done playing in the bush leagues, as it were.

Ah, the flip side to the questions...questions back at him. Ah well...see, I may have gotten a bit lost. There was some sort of guardian that I frankly didn't feel like conversing with, so I...slipped past him? My name is Milo and I guess I'm a bit of an expert at getting into places where one is not meant to be. I could be of use to you in routing the Skaven.

Milo PREFERS to fight from behind where he can take advantage of a distracted foe, but he'll take what he can get. Landing on the rafter, he takes a stab with his rapier at one of the archers hack and slash dex: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 5) + 2 = 8

He tries his best to land himself BEHIND the archers so he can have his way with their soft squishy bits. defy danger dex: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 1) + 2 = 9 Close, but no cigar! Milo dismounts from the horse and waits for a lead from his escorts. Are they to enter with the guards, on their own, or just wait for someone to emerge. He's especially curious how much attention and scorn the guards pay to him
