Something I've used in the past to help with low level survivability is a variation on the Veteran feat in Star Wars: KOTOR. It gives like 20 bonus hp I think but I modified it follows based on starting hit die.

D12 gets 25 bonus hp
D10 gets 20
D8 gets 15
D6 gets 10

I think it works pretty well. It's a nice early bonus but will more or less even out eventually compared to regular hp. You could also drop each category down 5 hp and still be good.

Those are both good options. Thanks for the input!

So one of my players just threw me for a loop. What craft skill would be used to craft artisan/MW artisan tools and what would the DCs be?

Thanks

Can we get a link to your version Mathmuse? Looks really sweet so far.

Two words. Captain America. He two-hands his shield all the time. On the other the way he does it I'd say he wasn't getting the shield bonus while doing so.

Also...Holy awesomeness! I can main hand a shield! I can actually play Cap. Freaking sweet.

Is Legends as Items in UC? Or possibly UM? I gotta get me dem books.

What's the difference between a Pureblooded Azlanti and regular human? Also what book are they in?

Sorry, I had some FAQ items I wanted to get out this week, but a pile of projects, a sick wife, and traveling got in my way.

I'm shooting for early next week...right after I finish serving as a guest judge on RPG Superstar.

It's all good. Hope the wife gets better soon. Like PDK said real life takes precedence.

Bow Focus: This gets pretty damn ugly pretty quick in terms of damage dealt. Even if the Samurai doesn't get a composite bow to account for his entire strength modifier, the extra damage from challenge and Deadly Aim, mixed with things like Rapid Shot would provide for a more versatile fighter who would still be a beast on the battlefield.

Except for the fact that Challenge is melee only. My friend was gonna do Samurai archer thing and then he noticed that and became very sad.

Like it says in the quote I posted there should be an update for the Gunslinger sometime this week. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't happen til next week or later. It is lot of work and they're doing other stuff too. But SRM said this week so I'm hoping for tomorrow at this point. I'll take what I can get though.

+1 to what Scipion said. The Paizo dudes are the Wolverine of RPGs.

Wow us with some updation!(making up words is fun :p)

They updated Summoner cause it needed it. So does the 'Slinger.

Firearm bullets do not weigh the same as sling bullets, so don't worry overly much about the encumbrance.

I'm on the road, and I didn't bring the full draft of the new rules with me, but I will be posting the actual weight of bullets with an sticky update on all the classes in the next week.

If you can't wait, assume that 20 bullets with black powder weigh 1 lb. That may not be the exact weight, but it's close enough for our playtest purposes.

Snagged the quote from another thread. I was just wondering if this was still happening? And maybe before Friday? I planning on playing a 'Slinger in my game this week and was hoping to hook it up with the update.

Keep up the great work Gents!

Dude, halfling on a raptor. :D

You can get a dinosaur as a familiar and it gives you +4 init?!! That's freaking awesome. I need to get my hands on some Bestiary 2. As for Magic Missle to each his own. I don't leave the inn without it if I'm playing a soc/wiz. But I have a tendency to miss a lot even with touch.

What I'm wondering is how you're getting +4 init from your familiar? Also Magic Missle is great. If you don't want to take it as a spell at least grab a wand of it for those times you run out of spells(which will most likely happen) as a backup.

"12 Allesandra=uses double move to try and get behind the remaining dog. Her bless spell ends"

Bless is 1 min/level not 1 round. Which is why it's awesome. :D

Gunslingers do qualify for fighter feats. They're a sub-class of fighter. But when you did have "Roland" have spec, he didn't have focus.

What book is Heirloom Weapon in?

They did not get perception.

I didn't say they did. I was saying that Gunslingers and for that matter most fighters should. And that the option for 4+ skills should be available.

Fireball is a freakin' 40' diameter! How on earth is it that you rarely get just two targets? Do you always face snipers or long range spellcasters on the open plains in your campaign?

Fireball is 20' not 40'. One can dream though :)

Do want. They'd also make great gifts.

The Necromancy school has a lot of melee touch spells so unless you plan on casting Spectral Hand *all the time* you need a decent strength or Weapon Finesse.

I was under the impression that you only got bonus languages at 1st level. Can you point out where it says that boosting Int gives you more?

If you want the AC that bad just take dodge, which would actually apply to touch attacks and CMD as well.

Wait, what? Dodge applies to CMD??

I'm pretty sure vicious is melee weapons only. So you'd have a +1 open.

Where did you find Armored Savant?

Dragon Magazine #355

Class Acts p.92
Eldritch Warriors

:)

Thanks. :)

I'm extremely interested in an update for Modern. Some of best gaming memories are from playing Modern. I don't know if I could do $50 all at once though. It'd be easier on me and a lot of other people probably if we could throw down 10-15 or so at a time and work our way up to the awesome. Also this is my first post here on these boards. Go Modern!

I'm pretty sure Vital Strike only doubles pure weapon damage. Strength and whatnot doesn't get multiplied.
