Mia takes the chance to assume her first wildshape of the day to assume the form of an earth elemental. Noticing the others are keeping at range, she stays near the front but produces a small burning flame in her palm before hurling it towards one of the shambling creatures.

Mia, having been a pensive about being underground again, and more than a little upset at the potentially needless fish fry, gets an idea as she tries to distract herself.

Oh, I could potentially help. I could turn into a small representation of the element of earth. I should be able to move easily through the stone pillars without toppling them over then. Or, I could try to become one of air, though the earth would be able to move the wheels much easier. I would rather try the earthen form. Since it would probably be more useful through the rest of this place.

Well, I suppose you shouldn't how for two instances of finding crates bigger on the inside filled with fruit. At least we found them. Perhaps we should make sure we don't get ambushed going into the palace, and save it for last?

You are right, its foolish of me, but despite myself when I hear the term spirit, I automatically associate it with ghosts. That certainly is not the case. It would have been better for me to say I detest the undead, the undead spirits perhaps more so... Though I do admit, despite my... profession, I suppose, spirits of any type unnerve me a little. Though those tied to the land also excite me a little. I've had very few actual dealings with such. she smiles almost sheepishly.

I hate spirits and the undead. And, I've little experience or knowledge on curses or the like... Her thoughts rushed back to the undead cyclops, and the effort required to take it down. She gave an involuntary shudder before following after the others.

Well, Insects are actually quite useful. They are also normally easy to ward away if you know the proper methods. Although, sometimes the method may be worse than the flies. I think if you coat your skin with mud, you wouldn't have to deal with the flies further.

Spirit Sense:

At 1st level, a menhir savant can detect the presence of undead; fey; outsiders; and astral, ethereal, or incorporeal creatures. This ability functions like detect undead, and the druid detects all of these creatures rather than trying to detect one kind.

No, we gathered them from a dragon's hoard. The means to re-power them may well lie there still. Or, at least, the means to know what we must do.

as the children swarm, Mia smiles and gives a small sigh. Her timid nature seemingly gone when dealing with the young.

we go to find and bring back food, or at least, something that can be used to get food. She will take a small seed from a pouch and bury it in the ground a small distance away from the main path.

And remember, its better to make than to take. So learn to grow things before anything else.
She will use a bit of her power to cause the seed to sprout the smallest of sprigs.

At this point, Eep, the Mokele-mbembe, sticks their long neck in again through their favorite window, despite the pies long having been moved away after its first thievery.

They give a quick two sniffs of Claudia and then Sathyssil.

Mia seems to not notice entirely as she speaks up.

I would also ask that we try to find a place of power, where we can re-imbue and reawaken the magic in some relics we found that may prove useful in times to come. But, I agree, making sure we survive the winter is the first priority.

Mia falls silent as yet another new face enters the now small feeling inn. She seems mildly flustered at the young Olivert's gaze and speech, and withdraws for awhile. She had become more outspoken around those she had grown to know, but truly 3 new faces, one being such a flamboyant one as Olivert had caused her shyness to resurface. She could only wonder if these fellows, offering their aid so easily, knew what may lay in store.

After a bit, she managed to speak up, forcing herself to speak calmly and without stumbling.

I for one, would prefer if the people of this.. potentially burgeoning town to do so alongside the natural world. As am sure Kalig, one of the people most responsible for the towns survival thus far, would as well. I'd like this place to be a Haven to people and animal alike. If people wish to take up the green faith, then I would support that. I would also be fine with followers of Shelyn, Erastil and Sarenrea. While I want the town to prosper and grow, I do not desire Abadar to become a prominent faith however. They often care so little for what they trample on should it be in the name of their cities...

At the mention of fishing, Mia nods, but speaks of caution.

We should certainly look to the bounty of the rivers and sea, but do so cautiously, we should not agitate the Lochathah, and we must be careful to not imbalance the natural order too greatly with our fishing or construction. I and Kalig were discussing forming a circle here, to aid the town and hopefully help guide it.. We are already encouraging crop yields with magic, both druidic and leshy, and we could potentially do more of this. Though I worry that Kalig's thoughts may be right, and that over saturating the ground with magic may cause unforeseen problems in the future.

hey all, I'll getting a post in whilst visiting a friend. ISP is down still.

Also, You heart me, Mia's cottage/apothecary is totally a worthwhile building! It even as a small spring in the garden!

I also welcome the fey pranked oracle, perhaps a couple of leshys like to get in on the fun.

Docks are a must, we could even instill a toll someday, should we desire, but those are likely a couple years away in game.

On her way back to her cottage, Mia couldn't help but overhear the rumors going about town of Sargon nearly doubling in size overnight. With a billion concerns whirling through her head, she decides at the very least, she can work on resolving two of them. This potential issue with Sargon, and Aristide stepping aside. With a heavy sigh, and after having had a hot cup of herbal tea, she makes her way back to towards the inn.

She enters the inn and speaks up before she notices the others.
I was hoping to speak about a couple of.. things... but then stops as she notices some unfamiliar faces. After several moments she works of the courage, or perhaps, frustration, to speak.

Well, good day to everyone.. Sargon, I see the word of you growing was well founded... I can sense some that resembles that between me and Eep. Though, different, and perhaps even deeper... so um...

Francoix definitely wouldn't strike me as one to rule, but I could see the story arc where he begrudgingly accepts, then complains constantly about all the work. It may fit him haha.

Mia is going to have to get over the shock of it all, she likely won't look towards leadership stuff until after she does the rituals and the like. ATM she is pretending Aristide did not just offer them to actually lead the town. At least until she calms her nerves haha.

However, this does bring up a question-
past NPCs, are we assuming they are, mostly, fading back into the populace as retirees, or sticking around? Or a mix of both as needed?

And, are we using the kingdom rules as they are, or an approximation of them?

I was curious, if we wanted to have Sargon approach Mia perhaps with the knowledge of a ritual of bonding? One that could tap into the same place that we need to go/find for the artifacts? I think that might be a cool thing.

Mia thinks for several long moments, letting Dargys speak first. Finally, she speaks up.

I don't really have much of a grasp on.. politics or leadership really, but, I think that, you being the leader of our town it would be better for you to address them... I do also wonder if the predator that drove Borjon on his ill-fated venture, will soon see us as prey as well... With that possibility, and with other threats we know we will have to confront at some point, I will be seeking out a place of power to attempt to re-imbue magic into some of the artifacts we discovered in the ruins. I don't know how long this will take, but I hope that they will prove useful for the town's longevity. I also had an idea involving Sargon, our dragonling friend. Though that is still nothing more than a few thoughts... If nothing else is too pressing, I would ask to be allowed to leave and pursue the artifacts now. Though, if you wish me to be there when you address everyone, I will be.

In honesty, I do not, other than I likely would have used what I believed to be the proper one. I'll modify as needed if I have indeed buggered the point buy value(with apologies of course!). Which is a possibility, I may have gotten the pt buy confused with another games and simply went off memory.

well, I will admit, didn't expect all three of you to be interested. But, I am quite happy you all are!

Also @ Grumbaki, apologies, the hobgoblins have actually been with us from the start (before Haven had been "founded") just to clear that up.

@ Trevor, you could easily be from Dargys's tribe if you wanted. Both groups have been with us for awhile now.

SO, I don't have a lot of time to fact check, or do an extensive write up atm. But, in summary of what I can remember (I had to take a hiatus from the game for a time)

In order of recency-

Dealt with a demagogue who, due to recent turbulent events involving Taldor expansionist(?)seeking to reclaim galt, led a group of his "followers" in an attempt to take over haven and spread the revolution, most likely. The villagers are by and large likely to be absorbed into the town, save a few hard souls most likely. Could be from that group.

Recently raided a jungle temple(ziggurat) in search of food primarily, and trade goods, which we found in abundance with a Crate of flipping holding X or something! which, turned out to be the vacation home of a very old, very powerful blue dragon. Of course, thankfully, he wasn't there, and -likely- won't be back for another year or so, but we aren't sure. In it we found and liberated some interesting artifacts and valuables we have yet to "re-empower" or sell. Mia's next business to get done. We also found our friendly, sarcastic, and only slightly narcissistic dragonling. Which prompted the dragonrider question. I cannot give the go ahead on that, so you'll have to discuss it with our amazing GM.

We had minor dealings with locathah, I don't recall if we ever had the chance to set up trade agreements with them or not actually..

we caused a bullette to suffocate on land due to potions. (we also beat it senseless but... it would have suffocated!)

Had some dealings with Kellish traders, to little real consequence for the time being. Though, perhaps a small delegation would return for trade should one of you be so inclined? I can't say.

We cleared a tomb of undead due to a deal with a local centaur tribe that, IIRC, has been "absorbing" most of the others. Turns out, one of the few remaining non-warlike tribes, that we were on decent terms with and whom were resisting being assimilated IIRC, was using that as an extra layer of defense. Oops.

We dealt with a type of... leshy lich? Mia wasn't there for that, but we have leshys helping with the crops now. Its been sort of a matriarchal druidocracy for awhile, as someone so aptly said.

Also, Our initial endeavors were greatly aided by dwarves, who, due to recent events have had to rush things and more or less cut assistance to us. Perhaps one of the dwarves felt a little guilt and made their way to help the village? Either on their own, or with the second wave of colonists (which would mean you've been in town for the most recent two or so events... I think?)

I've made mention to the GM about the possibility of allowing a 3pp, should anyone wish to befriend our dragon friend. I personally think it would make a great story and fit well, but that possibility is entirely up to the GM and the players.

And I think we still have our rogue,Francoix, but posts have slowed for a bit. For what its worth, Mia is a somewhat decent frontliner when shape shifted and with some buffs up. She also has a Mkembe (or, Mokele-Mbembe if you want to be accurate and not combine them), the Mighty Eep. Who is an okayish melee combatant, though not the most optimal choice.

So far, the local area to my memory involves plains and jungle largely. with of course, the river. The most prominent "locals" were centaurs I believe.

Mia seems to be breathing a little quicker than normal.

I.. I'd prefer not, to be honest. I'm not sure where I found the courage for that, but I couldn't just let things simmer.. Perhaps we should report to Aristide. As things begin to die down, Mia would go and found Aristide. Leaving the rest of the lesser injured in her assistants care.

Aristide? Um, sorry to bother you, but the issue of Borjan has been resolved. Him, along with his foul Final Blade, have met their end. Most of the people following him are in the town, being tended to... I think most would be willing to join us.

Mia looks around and shifts her feet in the tense atmosphere. After awhile, she speaks up, gathering the attention of the others.

This, this town, our little Haven, is exactly that. It is a Haven for any who would seek it. As long as they bear it no ill will, and are willingly to work both with its people and for its benefit. Enough blood and strife has been wrought by the poisonous lies of one man. Let it not cause further death.

She pauses a moment to look around at those gathered, particularly the newcomers. Giving them a long hard stare. She then addresses the Have citizens.

Time and time again, have past wariness been disproven? When the disciplined and stoic Hobgoblin tribe joined our Family, or the strong and hardened tribe good Dargys hails from? without their aid, Haven would be half of what it is, if there would even be a haven at all... and they, without our aid, may have slowly dwindled as well. I am no asking for you to befriend each other in a day. All I ask, is that you demonstrate what it means to belong to Haven, through actions. These people are no conquering army. They are a group of wounded, hungry and tired evacuees.

She tries to gauge each groups response.

Mia is visible upset, and frustrated, at the lack of cooperation. How she Wished Kalig was here. The two of them combined surely could have managed this... what would Kalig do in this situation?... After several moments of thought, Mia speaks up. A little meekly at first, but after clearing her throat she continues again.

If we wanted to harm you, we would have done so by now. We came, out of fear, fear that you would threaten our little Haven. We came with hope, that after the deceiver was dealt with you would be willing to join us. I won't force anyone to take my aid. And I will provide aid first to those that ask for it. And if no one asks, I'll start with the worst of ones I know I can keep alive and move on from there. If you ask, I will not tend to you. Its as simple as that.

was this the right choice?.. She waited a few seconds for the first one to verbally accept her aid before getting to work. Should a multitude come to accept her aid, she would save as many lives as she could, even if others ended up a little worse off. Though she would focus on the younger ones before the elderly.

SO, she prioritizes those that willingly accept her aid. After that, she goes for the worst looking ones she can readily save. From there, she prioritizes anyone below the age of 45. Shes operating how she believes Kalig may have. Even if the thought tears her heart. Hope this hierarchy makes sense. If all= same, she starts with the worst looking ones she can save below 45, then moves to the worst looking ones she can readily save above 45. etc.

Mia, after seeing the extent of the festering injuries she sets the girl down from her back and transforms back into her natural human form. For several seconds, you can see trepidation cross her face as she touches her mouth before shaking her head.

She goes to speak before stammering slightly, after a small pause she seems to force the rest out.

Alright.. everyone, let me check and tend to your injuries. Thank you Dargys, please make sure everyone is cleaned up before I check them. It helps a lot.

She spends the time pulling them off one at a time to check them over. Making sure to make a note for any much worse off than the others, and tells them to not partake in any strenuous activity.

Mia spends a little time helping the girl clamber up onto her back before turning to Dargys and giving a shake of her head when he asked if he had gotten anything wrong.

She will also look for any other children, to see if they were curious about a large, friendly(?), cat.

I do have one suggestion for if we recruit another member, since we have a friendly dragon, you could allow This 3rd party class, the Dragonrider

Just seems like a fun little thing. Perhaps some lad from Haven formed a bond with our dragonboi, perhaps it was a deal struck by Sargon.

When introduce, Mia gives a low growl, almost a purr. She spends a bit to make sure she is clean of any blood as the others talk.

As the people show hesitation, almost fear, Mia will softly pad over to the little girl. Once beside her, she will lay down and gently nuzzle the girl before looking back to the people.

I can reach out to people, but I wouldn't say I had a particular person in mind. On that note, we have a decent coverage, Mia will be able to slowly take up the "front-line" role thanks to wildshape, won't be the most effective, as I didn't originally build her for melee or or the like. But should suffice well enough. So, really I don't see anything we particularly -need- which should hopefully make it easier both to find someone, and for them to enjoy the game since they won't feel compelled into a particular "role".

Though "true" divine magic is missing I suppose.

Despite the slow down, I really liked this game, and Mia has a whole. I'm good with continuing if others are, I mean, we never even fought a dragon ;). Though I won't push the issue if anyone else wants to bring it to a close.

As the man goes limp in Mia's teeth, she swats the corpse aside with one of her paws. Prowling around to look at Francoix. She is panting heavily, both from the shock of what happened and adrenaline. For a brief moment there's a flash in her eyes, like that of an actual predator as she stares for several long moments while cleaning the blood on her mouth. Soon, her breathing is back to normal, and she prowls towards Francoix. In a sudden leap, she's next to him staring him in the face. Suddenly, his fear subsides as he feels the vibe of an animal tending to its pack from Mia. She looks down at and begins to lick the wound Francoix took from Tattercoat. Theres a warm sensation as healing washes into the wound.

After a few seconds, she sits on her haunches and glances back to the crowd of people.

It seemed she was still aware and mostly herself, though her personality certainly wasn't the same as usual. Who's to say if the natural instincts of the animal were effecting her, or how she would handle the events once back to her human form.
