Merreck looks nervously up at the rift forming above them. "So, can we run now?"


Ok, I've sort of lost track of what's going on. What's going on?


"Yeah yeah. Just doing my part to stop time from falling apart and all. I accept coin or credit."


Merreck sighs dashes over to Beren. "Why can't they keep themselves in one piece?" he mutters, clutching the symbol of the Traveler on his scimitar. "Come one Beren. Get your ass off the ground, cuz mine needs saving."
My last CLW. 7 points healed to Beren.


I think that it was your readied action that you rolled last time.


Well, looks like I know what I'll be doing on my next turn.


Merreck takes a deep breath and calls upon the Traveler's luck once more, granting it to his companions.
Casting Bless. All allies within 50ft recieve a +1 bonus to Attack rolls and saves vs. fear.
I'm out of 1st level Favored Soul spells now, by the way.


Is anyone hurt?

Merreck throws another small glowing stone at the dragon, but it misses by a wide margin.

Fortitude save 18 YES!!! Not bad for a guy with a +2 Fort save.

Again, Merreck throws one of his magical rocks at the dragon and again it goes clattering down to the stones far below.

None, the dragon barely missed. Good thing too, or he'd need a coffin not healing.


Merreck pulls a handful of pebbles from a pocket in his coat an murmurs a few words over them, causing them to briefly glow bright white.

Sari and Ruuz are pretty banged up, I think. Ruuz is concious, and I think that Sari will be as well from my spell.


Merreck sighs and scurries over to Sari's body while trying to avoid the dragon's attention. He passes a hand over the worst of her wounds, channeling a little of his patron's power to seal the wounds.

Well, I guess I know what I'll be doing on my turn. Stop dying already! ;)


Laying on the stone floor and wincing with pain, I mutter "I am staying low." and start to crawl away from the dragon and the edge, muttering something to myself.
Crawling as far as I can away from the dragon and from edge (if possibly)


Strength check 5 (11+2-4 size-4 from Lightweight flaw.
"What?" I ask when Beren shouts, looking up from tending to Ruuz in time to see the dragon flying towards me. My eyes widen as I see the dragon fly towards me. I barely have time to say "Oh, shit." before it slams into me, easily knocking my small frame several paces back and uncomfortably close to the edge.


I let my crossbow fall back on its strap and slap against my leg as I run over to heal Ruuz. Again. "Try to make it last this time! I can't keep putting you back together forever." I say as I invoke the Traveler's blessing upon him.
7 point healed. I may need to be NPCed sometimes, as I'll be really busy for most of this week.

On my turn.

Seeing Jyra fall I begin to dash up the stairs as fast as my short legs will carry me "Dammit! I'm hurrying as fast as I can." I pant, scrambling up the tall stairs, muttering something about freakishly long legs.


I sigh as Brick leaps from the pillar at the tentacled horror "And I don't think I can heal that one either."


I fire a bolt at the mindflayer. Despite the Traveler's luck the poorly aimed bolt flies wide, arcing down onto the stone floor.
How many rounds of my bardic music bonus are left? By my count this should be the last round. Attack roll not worth noting.

Seeing that Jyra is occupied with Beren and Sari I go to Ruuz and try to drag him a few feet further away from the fight before invoking the Traveler's blessing to heal the wounded changeling. As he returns to conciousness I lean over him and, grinning, say "Next time, find a girl who's whip isn't flaming." as I do what little I can to help him to his feet.
CLW, 7 points healed to Ruuz.


To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Fort save nat 1.
I fall to my knees as I feel strength and vitality leave my body. "Damn wench!" I grunt struggling to my feet as she attacks Sari.


Finally! My turn hath arrived!
I fire my crossbow at Jyra, hoping that the Traveler's luck will guide my hand and it seems my prayer is answered as the bolt flies true.
Attack nat 24 (20+4+1) Crit Conf. 21 (16+4+1) Dmg 12 (6+5+1) Booyah! WHO DA' HALFING?!
Satisfied I drop my crossbow and move so that I'm a relatively safe distance away and wait for her to make her move, hoping that I can get to Ruz and heal him before it's too late.
Moving to where I'm about 10ft away from Jyra, with Ruz in between us.

When Jyra charges and strikes Ruz with her whip I swear I'll find a way to make a joke about that. I sigh and aim my crossbow at her, muttering "First a squid-headed Khyber spawn, then a dragon, and now an evil, insane whore-lady with a fire whip and magical tatoos. I should've stayed in Sharn."


I fire my crossbow at the mind-flayer, cursing as my crossbow bolts goes wide of it's mark.
Attack 19 (14+4+1) If it hits 3 (2+1). Who's remembering to add their Bardic Music bonus, just out of curiousity.


Ah, sorry about that. Getting house rules mixed up with RAW again.
I'm about to fire when the key explodes and the dragon emerges. I hold my shot, not sure what my target should be. "Ah damn. And I thought things might just take a turn for the better after this." I mutter and then add "So, kill stuff or run?" loud enough for those nearest to me to hear.


I pull a small vial full of swirling silver liquid from a pouch at my belt and pop the stopper off. I drain it in a gulp and a suit of elaborate armor briefly solidizes about me before fading from view.
I raise my crossbow, taking careful aim at the thing hovering in the air and then I let a bolt loose in its direction.
Taking a potion of Mage Armor. That brings my AC up to 21.
Attack 19 (14+4+1) Probably not a hit but if it is Damage 4 (3+1)


Failed my Spot check.


I draw my crossbow and load it while reciting a short prayer for luck.
Guide our hands,
Guard our minds,
Luck protect us,
Fair Fortune guide us.
Inspire Courage everyone. +1 Atk, +1 Dmg, +1 vs Fear
I aim my crossbow at the hovering squid-face and prepare to fire at it.

Isn't it a fascinating pattern? It...oh dear.", my dissertation on numerical patterns interupted when I notice Jyra, standing half-naked before a hideous creature on the podium.

I raise my crossbow, ready for a fight. I try to remember what the crreature might be as I say "Careful; stay away from those skeletons. The last thing we need is for them to rise and give us even more problems."

I look around as we enter the place "Wow." is all I can say. It's a lot bigger than anything in my experience. "Maybe an ampitheater of some kind?" I suggest.
I'll be somewhere in the middle, close enough to heal people but hopefully out of direct melee. Nice map BTW.

More and more Brick reminds me of River.


I look at Brick and say "You can't go with both groups because you can't be in two places at once." with a chuckle I add "Unless of course you've suddenly become an incredibly powerful mage or a demi-god that is."

I'll go with Sari's group and alert the other group with my spell if we encounter anything unusual, or at least more unusual than the rest of this damned place. Each team should have a healer, a fighter and someone who knows how to track. Ruuz should probably go with one team and Valessa with the other since they're more likely to be able to identify and disable any traps we come across." while I speak I seem more commanding and used to be in control but as I realize that I've sort of taking control and notice the odd looks I get I say "Uh, as long as that sounds good to you. I'm just thinking out loud here. Does that sound like a good idea to everyone?" looking a little embarrased and staring at my boots.


I nod and say "Alright, since we're splitting up Brick should be with one group and I with the other, that way both groups will have a healer for when things go south. Also, I have a spell that could prove useful. It allows the caster to send a whispered message across a distance of about a hundred feet. The only problem is that it can't go through stone, although it can go through the corridors as long as the path it takes is less than a hundred feet. Just thought I'd inform you of that. Also, what are we doing with the prof and his 'student'?"


I give an odd smile to Beren and quitely comment "Be careful. Hate can lead to some...very dark places if left unchecked." with a far away look in my eyes, as if remembering some long past event.

I look thoughtful an murmur "Hmm. The Dragon-marked often wear rings with dragon-shards, although they're usually Eberron shards. Khyber is usually used to emphasize control and command." to no one in particular.


I step back, looking around the room and mutter "Why do the let this man lead expeditions?" just loud enough to be heard by everyone in the room.

I nod in agreement with Sari and say "I'm not usually the beating the truth out of people kind of guy but I think I'll make an exception this time. Jyra's made this a lot harder than it needed to be. I think we're all a little jumpy. Maybe we should get some more rest?
Did we get eight hours before we were awakened?
"A ring with a Khyber dragon-shard? That's an uncommon piece of jewelry. Perhaps..." I mutter to myself, letting the sentance trail off as I try to remember if there's any group that is known to use a ring matching that description.
