My local store had to order 10 copies of the regular cover in order to get 1 sketch cover. It would have nicer if the rarity of the sketch version could have been made more clear. The blog post above made it sound like anyone could special order a sketch cover. That is not the way it worked out at my local store. The number of people wanting a sketch cover exceeded the number of copies they will be getting. So there will be a raffle to see who gets to buy one of the few copies available.

That's odd. My local store ordered just strictly the sketch covers for all the pre-orders. Everyone who pre-ordered from our Society Group got sketch covers.

For those wondering, that's the new diabolic dragon on the Player Core and the new mirage dragon on the GM Core. :)

Shout outs to the ever amazing Kent Hamilton for concepting those dragons in-house and, of course, to the inimitable Wayne Reynolds for making them look absolutely killer on these covers!

Are there plans to make the Monster Core and Player Core 2 etc in the same style? They look so good and unique!
Yes! Howl of the Wild too.
Hmm, not keen on anything out of the core four. It ruins the uniqueness of it for me.
If it helps local games stores we will have sketch covers for the foreseeable future.

So I have to ask, since the books have officially released... Did we do a good job ordering through our FLGS to get more sketch covers coming? Would love the Player Core 2 book to go along with my Player Core book...

and from a small experience, half my weekly Society Group have ordered these two books...

When can our local hobby shop expect to order these editions?
Now. The products have been solicited to distributors.

My FLGS told me we last week that we could pre-order them today through him. He just wasn’t set up to take the pre-orders the last society night.

So here we go!

I wonder why is it still called a draft when it is the final version?
Because in writing (particularly when it comes to legal documents), "draft" means "version". Draft does not (necessarily) mean "first" or "rudimentary".

I was surprised there was so many incorrect answers until you came along.

This is confusing. Half your character level 1 is .5, so rounded down is 0.
We get access to Champion Powers at level 1, and LoH is our first power, and even get a feat for it at level 1.

I can assume that the text is in error.

Here is the text on 194 for "Powers"
"If you get powers from a class that doesn't usually grant the ability to cast spells (monk with ki strike feat) the highest level of power you can cast is half your level rounded up and your powers are automatically heightened to this level"

It's not any more clear. unless the level 1 exception for LoH is just that... since LoH was a level 2 spell in 1st Ed.

I guess we need a clarification by the designers. Or we accept it as written and provide feedback on it if it proves to be under-powered.
but 1d4 (1d6 with feat) + CHA Bonus seems very under powered at level 3.

I Don't know why you think you need to drop your shield you can just touch them with the hand holding the shield.
Because "Somatic Casting" specifically requires having one hand free, regardless of the manipulate trait.

aren't shields by RAW (in 1st ed) strapped to your arm, and have a hand hold?

So couldn't you just release the handle, cast LOH and then re-grip the handle without ever dropping the shield? because frankly, you can't drop something that is strapped to your arm?

Wouldn't it stand to reason that shields are the same in the playtest?

I'm going to make you sad, because there was a Boon out there that required the mulching of a tiefling and an aasimar boon to allow play of a Ganzi, and I did it.

It was the only Assimar boon I'll probably ever see in PFS Thanks to the person who traded it!, having missed out on the alleged 'Great Assimar Production Line' prior to their retirement a few Seasons ago.

The thing has me more glad is the tengu availability, and I need to get back to making more of them...

That aside, I've built a merfolk.

I was going to build *ludicrous* with them, but with the 'sunset' of PFS potentially looming, the play options for one are going to become dramatically fewer.

And I need to make moar tengu.

Not trading, but just putting out a feeler, would there be an interest in a 'completed' merfolk boon (it'd have several other racial boons involved with it to make it 'work')?

That makes me so sad! But good for you! /clap!

I might be interested in such a mermaid set. ^_^

(Also, I should check and see how many aasimar boons I have left.)

How many?

I might die...

Every one of you with an Aasimar Racial boon make me insanely jealous!
