Turning, Mer sees the glow of the creature's eyes, and with his dark vision so much more.

Hoping to deter the goblins from attacking, Mer fires an arrow at them.

With a start, Mergenci leaps forward to follow the human as he runs towards the nearest building.

"What is it? Do you know what these might be?" the litorian asks as he comes abreast with Ril.

Listening to the odd sound, Mer looks to the others.

"Well that's not creepy at all...right! Can anyone tell where that is coming from?"

Finding the weapons and money, Mer shows the group the haul.

"I guess about what you would expect from goblins. Well, let's see what else we might find down here!"

Mer searches the dead goblins with Ozbadin before joining the others in moving into the underground city.

Mer also looks at the dead goblins to see if he can notice anything about their deaths.

Mer follows the others down the corridor and tried not to think of how deep underground they are going. He becomes a little nervous as they continue, and helps Ril in taking his measurements between rest platforms.

"Will we be going all the way to the centre of the earth? Who built this place anyway??"

Mergenci glances down the deep shaft and gives a low whistle.

"I hope there is some other entrance to the lower levels. Let's look around a bit more and see what we might find!"

Mer scrunches up his nose as the smell of the sewer assaults his senses. He ties a bit of cloth over his muzzle to try and dampen the stench, but this only partly works.

"Gah! This is not natural...too many people and too much waste. Let's move on quickly and get us out of this stink!"

He watches as Ril blazes the wall and nods in recognition.

Mergenci feels honoured to be placed second in the order and takes his place boldly. He frowns at the human laughing, not understanding how he could not be honoured to be allowed to lead their company.

Mer also heads down to the entrance. He sniffs the air and wrinkled his nose.

"Smells like a cave with too much water seeping in!"

Mergenci has never had much need for money, as so had collected a small stash of gold and silver coins.

"I think if we are to stay in this place any longer we will need a steady supply of coins, or perhaps one big haul?"

He looks at the others, but mostly seems to be taking his cues from Ozbadin.

Mer had remained quiet for the moment as he was not sure what to make of these creatures fumbling about in the fog. When they state that they are practicing being 'invisible' he smiles in understanding...they must be hunters! But what would you hunt in this strange city? He continues to listen to the others as they reprimand the two and when the taller one admits to creating the fog, he lets out an appreciative whistle.

"That is amazing! Helps not only covers you from sight but also makes smells harder to distinguish as well. Good hunting technique...what are you tracking?"

Mergenci nods in agreement with the other Litorian.

"And you can call me Mer!"

The wilder-looking Litorian gathers up his own gear and stands ready to go.

"Is this it then? Just the 4 of us?"

Looking over the board, Mer thinks he sees his chance and moves his Mouse Skull to take Oz's cheese. It is not until he has finished the move that he now notices the obvious trap.

"Darn...you got me again! I swear you make up the rules as you go along!" the young Litorian complained.

As he watches Ozbadin clean up the board of his remaining pieces he comments on his statement.

"Well I have your back, and I know you have mine. The guard seems alright, but this other person sounds like they might be trouble...like Tazil back home...always getting into things she shouldn't. I just hope we can make a big score early so we can find some better accommodations!"

Perhaps Aelfwyrd, having helped Oz out when he first arrived in the city, is now confronted with another Litorian looking for this particular person and can help Oz and Mer meet up??
