So, this dropped last night, and despite it not being ready to play even after being preloaded (what the hell is "unpacking," anyway, and why did it take an hour?) I managed to get a good hour or so of play this morning. Very interesting new mechanics that make placement of buildings and wonders more challenging and strategic. Also, the diplomacy seems improved. Overall I'm pretty pleased so far. Anyone else playing?

I have taken a break from Fallout 4 the last week or so to play this. The addition of the animal companions is pretty interesting. Otherwise standard Far Cry fare. I am enjoying it, though. Limiting to stone age weapons also makes it feel a bit different.

Anyone else playing this?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

According to Edward Snowden, and confirmed by The Gaurdian, British security forces have been hacking and recording video on private channels. Including lots of private sex camming. Story here:

Got this last week and I'm loving it. Story is a bit weaker than 4 but the ability to switch characters and the heist system is great.

I read on another thread that my dear friend the Goblin wished to discuss this issue, so here we go.

Talking points:

1. Should President Obama have committed forces without consulting Congress, such has been done in most conflicts since World War II?

2. Should the United States intervene on the basis of the alleged use of Chemical Weapons?

3. Does the lack of international support impact the validity of United States pending intervention?

Discuss.

I should probably hand in my Geek Card, but I never got into reading comic books. Now that I am contemplating the leap, what is some of the best stuff to pick up now. Keep in mind that I have not been reading forever, so anything where I will be lost due to not having read 20 years of backstory wouldn't be a good start for me. As a start, I have always enjoyed Batman, X-Men, and Conan in other mediums. Please help me start my new geek addiction.

I seem to remember somewhere that there is a feat that allows a cleric of an evil god to channel positive energy, and vice versa. Does anyone know where I might have seen it, or am I going crazy?

Next question, if there isn't one already, I am thinking about making one and calling it variant channeling or some such. must be taken at 1st level, and allows the cleric to channel the opposite type to what they normally can. Once taken, they are stuck with that type for the rest of their clerical career. Thoughts?

The thread on this board on disintigrate and swallow whole got me thinking about a problem I have run into before. If a character is swallowed by a monster with this ability, and is in the stomach, are they "grappled" per the rules. This is important for several reasons...do they need to make a grapple check to draw a light weapon? I mean, if they don't have one in hand, considering the grapple checks on many of these creatures the character may have no chance to cut their way out. Second, can spellcasters cast spells with somatic componants, do they need to make grapple checks to get ahold of material componants per the grapple rules? Thoughts?

I just ran the Froghemoth encounter in Champions belt and it resulted in a near TPK. The monk, cleric and fighter all ended up swallowed and dying in the gullet. I allowed the wizard to flee to the edges of the arena, and had the guards let him out so he didn't die with the rest.

The PCs had gotten as far as the room with the mohrgs and spawn, but hadn't yet seen the urgulstasta or cleric of kyuss. My thought at this point is that I may allow the Wizard to advance to 11th level, and have the new characters drawn up the same level and simply move to A Gathering of Winds. The new party follows up on the research of the old, finds the sage dead, and heads back to Diamond Lake. In the meantime, Raknian's plan goes perfectly, wights overrun Greyhawk, and the players get a sense of how bad things can be if they fail, giving them more motivation. What do you guys think?

Way back when I was running Shackled City, I decided that the highly fastidous elves in my party needed a challenge, so I had them take a side trip to the (as then) unmapped Sasserine. I added a side quest which took them into a adventure titled The Stink. I don't remember the issue number, but it was a great adventure in a walled up part of town where all the trash was dumped. Fast forward to now, and the same players will be playing in my Savage Tide game, and will miss The Stink. For the life of me, I cannot choose a good place to put it in the current map, and was wondering if Mr. Jacobs, or others had any suggestion. Any thoughts?
