Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Sigz gets awesome points for remembering that particular detail :).

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

It has been my honour too, Tahllana. Maysalkirii says, bowing stiffly. May your arrows fly true and slay dozens of the Red Hand. Farewell.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

How was the raising paid for? Someone needs to be 6K down.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Maysalkirii says nothing, but presents Narses with a warrior's handshake (think gripping forearm roman style) and then embraces his long-time companion awkwardly.

I am sure i'll see you soon Narses... I may join up with the Forest Giants as well once I find a target that will require more than my own skills to kill or sabotage. Oh and... Maysalkirii addresses the whole group in a hushed tone- If you... if I fall and you come across my corpse- d... don't bring me back. I'll be drinking with Cayden himself and it would be awfully rude to interrupt the party by popping back to the material plane for a few more years...

Dragox excused himself and approached Feek otu of the earshot of the others. "Are you sure you wish to leave, friend? We have done much good, but there is plenty left to do. I would be proud to continue fighting at your side, if you would reconsider."

I am sure. I have been thinking about it for some time, since... since Adele really. I will do my best to make sure the Red Hand who reach you have been harried and wounded; but I won't have any more deaths on my concience. Thankyou for your kind words, i'll celebrate with you tonight and leave come morning...

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

I agree on all counts, except i'd like the cowardly lizard to dare face me... Maysalkirii says, a little absent mindedly. I have an announcement to make however. Once we return to Starsong Hill, we shall be parting ways. I will continue to fight the Red Hand and help in my own way to destroy them, but I will do it alone. I will not have yet another death on my conscience.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

No.

1d20 + 0 ⇒ (15) + 0 = 15

The Ghostlord? Think I heard a couple of rumours about him... Maysalkirii says, scratching his head in confusion.

DM:

I have no intention of leaving the game but as I tried to explain I think Maysalkirii has run his course- hes not willing to keep rushing into battle and watch his allies die so hes going to head off to wreak havoc on the Red Hand solo; fading into the background of the story so to speak. I would like to re-roll but I will keep playing Maysalkirii until convenient for you to introduce a new character.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Actually, if Shalani wants to re-roll this might be a good opportunity to retire Maysalkirii. Hes started to get some really heavy survivors guilt and he blames himself a little when someone around him dies; I was going to have him leave the group in order to harass and hunt the Red Hand alone whenever and wherever he can. Its not even that i'm tired of playing him, this just seems like his time with the group has run its course, particularily with Adele dead. Maybe Brindol could send a pair of agents hired to assist us so our new characters could join? If retiring Maysalkirii is going to be problematic for you DM i'll continue with him- let me know.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Maysalkirii will search both thoroughly just in case as detailed above.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

2 now IIRC.

Maysalkirii will also take twenty to search the chest for traps, and to open it using disable device. Are these the only intact buildings in the swamp? What did we find in the other building? Did anything other than the loot detect as magical? Maysalkirii has darkvision so no corner will go unsearched.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

The coward fled from my blades. Maysalkirii says flatly. The spellcaster did not escape the divine retribution of Cayden Cailean either.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Take 20 to search the bodies of the fallen, and both buildings, using detect magic to sort the loot.

Also, can anyone else take over loot duties for a while? I can post more now but i'm still swamped for a month or so.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Lets not let her die in vain. The dragon won't attack again, not without reinforcements. We'll go see what was so important they had an outpost here in the first place- or this whole battle was for naught. Get her inside once we secure the first building, and one of us can guard her body while the other two search. If Tahllana has any sense, she'll come to see the aftermath; best stay right where we are so she can find us easily.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4
Dragox wrote:

"Once I saw the dragon, I headed for cover, following your foe. While it has left for the time being, I doubt we should stand around here swapping stories. I don't think we are in any shape to fight such a beast right now."

Dragox does a quick channel as he sees his friends are in as rough a shape as he is.

Channel Energy 4d6

Hrmph... The dragon was a coward, just like the goblin. If I had means of flight I would have pursued him myself... Maysalkirii grumbles sourly as his wounds close over, nodding his thanks to Dragox.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Hmm... Well shes not close if shes here at all. Maybe she was captured? Did you see anything, I was consumed with fighting the goblin and then by his spell.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Couldn't help the closeness, I don't think. The angle was wrong for line of sight from further away, so I had to use non-line of sight abilities, like the bombs.

But I thought you had fly prepared right? It wasn't meant as a OOC or IC dig at you anyway.

I am glad of that much at least Dragox. Perhaps...

Maysalkirii will use the message spell (presume its still active) to tell Tahllana-

You may come back, elf-friend. The foe is in retreat, although we paid dearly.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Maysalkirii joins the other two, looking down at Shalani's corpse and shaking his head sadly.

You did not belong this close to the fight my friend...

Noticing the deep slashing wounds Shalani took in the fight, Maysalkirii frowns.

None of our foes used blades- could the lizardfolk ninja have broken their promise?

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

1d100 ⇒ 79 Damage Self

1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

1d100 ⇒ 3 Act Normally

Narses? Tahllana? Dragox? Shalani? Maysalkirii says tentatively, unsure of the fate of his allies.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

How far did the dragon move? How high above the roof does the fog begin? By the way the spiritual weapon attacking Mnag won't stop until its target is changed to its still methodically hacking Mnag into bits.

1d100 ⇒ 74

Maysalkirii appears to concentrate deeply, flicking his sabre up into the air with an expert flourish, catching it back handed and plunging the blade into his knee, blood flowing freely from the wound.

Grumbles that my weapon's base damage is higher now i'm confused.

1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Meanwhile both spiritual weapons continue to attack their respective targets.

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 Force Dmg, ignores DR

Won't bother rolling for the one cutting Mnag apart, it will only miss on a 1 now I expect.

Active Effects-
Bless (+1 attack and save vs fear)
Divine Favor (+2 attack and damage)
Destruction Judgement (+3 damage rolls)
Flames of the Faithful (Flame Burst on Iyandrosa)
Bane (3/7 used)
Spiritual Weapon 5/7 used.
Spiritual Weapon 2 2/7 used.
Confusion rounds- 6/? used.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

1d100 ⇒ 9 Act Normally

Dragox, over here! Maysalkirii shouts, gesturing for his ally to come closer. Sheathing his non-flaming sabre (Ilyandrosa), Maysalkirii conjures a second spiritual rapier that immediately assaults the dragon before him.

Spiritual Weapon (Dragon)

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29 Crit threat

1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 Force Damage, Ignores DR

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14 Crit unconfirmed

1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Spiritual Weapon (Mnag)-

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21

1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Well that might be another hit- at least I might have avenged you Shalani, few arcane casters can withstand 66HP of damage... Now to get the hell away from Narses before one of us rolls 'attack nearest creature' and one of us gets cut down...

5 foot step to the south as well please.

Active Effects-
Bless (+1 attack and save vs fear)
Divine Favor (+2 attack and damage)
Destruction Judgement (+3 damage rolls)
Flames of the Faithful (Flame Burst on Iyandrosa)
Bane (3/7 used)
Spiritual Weapon 3/7 used.
Spiritual Weapon 2 1/7 used.
Confusion rounds- 5/? used.

Tahllana Skyhunter wrote:

I don't think killing the spell caster makes the spell end any earlier unless it's a Duration: Concentration spell, sadly.

This is correct.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Thats what I figured, wasn't certain of her current HP so thought it was worth a shot.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Maysalkirii struggles to maintain control of himself. Meanwhile, the spiritual weapon continues to follow and assault Mnag.

It continues to attack until I spend a move action to direct it to another target. Handy spell when confused.

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25 Spiritual Weapon
1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 Force damage, ignores DR

1d100 ⇒ 60 Attack nearest creature

Maysalkirii can only see Dragox and the dragon; and the dragon is closer...

Maysalkirii moves to I13 in preparation to attack next round.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

RAW even unconcious characters get reflex saves, albeit their dex is treated as 0 so at a hefty penalty. Will passing make a difference or is she toast either way? Probably irrelevant as I recall she was on -7? Did the dragon also emerge from the pool I fell into? Seems there was a party in there.

Tahllana Skyhunter wrote:
I don't think we've touched this goblin at all or saved against one of his spells.

I've done some minor damage. Could have been plenty more but for some epicly bad rolls.

1d100 ⇒ 19 Act Normally, 3/? rounds confused.

Urgh... Tahllana hes done something to me, keep the others away from me... Maysalkirii grunts, recovering his senses for a moment. Unaware of the situation on the ground level, Maysalkirii moves to Q13 and conjures a spiritual weapon, a divine rapier of Cayden Cailean. It materialises in the air and immediately slashes into the spellcaster.

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29 Crit threat (Spiritual Weapon uses Rapier stats for crit threat/damage)
1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 Force, ignores DR.

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26 Crit confirm? (Spiritual Weapon uses Rapier stats for crit threat/damage)
1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 Force, ignores DR.

If 26 hits, 28 damage.

Active Effects-
Bless (+1 attack and save vs fear)
Divine Favor (+2 attack and damage)
Destruction Judgement (+3 damage rolls)
Flames of the Faithful (Flame Burst on Iyandrosa)
Bane (3/7 used)
Spiritual Weapon 1/7 used.

I'll attempt to stay on top of this game and make combat round posts as we're in a sticky situation. Once we're out of combat, please bot me just like the CC game Ty.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Based off the damage that killed the last one, i'm almost certain the Ogre has already dropped by your init Tahllana. Can you confirm DM?

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

DM, I feel compelled to point out confusion is a 15 feet radius burst, NOT single target.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Roll a couple more Dragox, if he has more than one magical effect in place (for example, the Fly) you get to make a check against each of them as your focusing the whole spell on him.

Having been attacked on the previous turn (see Confusion spell text), Maysalkirii strikes back against Ogre 2 after a 5 foot step.

Full Attack-

Ilyandrosa-
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19 Attack
1d6 + 12 + 2d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 12 + (4, 4) + (4) = 25 Damage
1d6 ⇒ 2 Self Harm

Chianlii-
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27 Attack
1d6 + 14 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 14 + (6, 4) = 27 Damage

Active Effects-
Bless (+1 attack and save vs fear)
Divine Favor (+2 attack and damage)
Destruction Judgement (+3 damage rolls)
Flames of the Faithful (Flame Burst on Iyandrosa)
Bane (Chianlii) (3/7 used)

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

AOO-

1d20 + 17 ⇒ (3) + 17 = 20
1d6 + 12 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 12 + (4) = 19

Active Effects-
Bless (+1 attack and save vs fear)
Divine Favor (+2 attack and damage)
Destruction Judgement (+3 damage rolls)
Flames of the Faithful (Flame Burst on Iyandrosa)
Bane (2/7 used)

Will get a action for this round up in a bit.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

As Mnag has moved and cast, he can't have taken a withdraw action- AOO for Maysalkirii surely?

DM:

"Note that a confused character will not make attacks of opportunity against any creature that it is not already devoted to attacking (either because of its most recent action or because it has just been attacked)."

Welcome back.

I promise i'm not trolling you but... once again Maysalkirii can't answer!

DM Tanner wrote:

** spoiler omitted **

It's a typo. Their totals should be 60 damage for Ogre1 and 64 damage for Ogre2 as of the start of this round.

DM:

Oh I was sure the math added up, just thought i might be another typo. Nasty DC's :). Oooh a Sorceror :D.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

DM:

DC24?!?! Blimey! That suggests (with spell focuses included) Mnag has a +8 modifier to his casting stat... Sure it wasn't a typo? I'll assume not for speed :).

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20 Failure
1d100 ⇒ 97 Attack nearest creature.
1d100 ⇒ 19 Roll-off between Ogre and Mnag (equal distance, 01-50 Mnag)

Maysalkirii leaps fifteen feet to the west and one square to the north, balancing on the edge of the hole at M8 and slashing at the goblin.

This provokes an AOO from Ogre 2, if hes still alive. Seems to be some odd healing effect on them...

Acro DC40 (doubled for no running start)-

1d20 + 32 ⇒ (11) + 32 = 43 Success

Single attack.
1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26
1d6 + 12 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 12 + (2) = 16

Active Effects-
Bless (+1 attack and save vs fear)
Divine Favor (+2 attack and damage)
Destruction Judgement (+3 damage rolls)
Flames of the Faithful (Flame Burst on Iyandrosa)
Bane (2/7 used)

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

I think I dropped the Ettin, Tanner mentuoned he had 2HP before my attack on MSN.

Narses Kale wrote:

Umm... you rolled a d20 on the damege vs. Narses...

Again? :D.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

They are in full plate so thats 18 right off the bat (+9 armour, -1 size). And Ogre's usually have gribbly natural armour too :(.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Shaking his head to recover his senses, Maysalkirii leaps with all his might and just makes it clear out of the hole, slashing upwards with his blade as he ascends and cutting the ettin down with Chianlii.

1d20 + 32 ⇒ (16) + 32 = 48 Acrobatics, VS DC48

1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
1d6 + 14 + 2d6 ⇒ (5) + 14 + (3, 5) = 27

Active Effects-

Bless (+1 attack and save vs fear)
Divine Favor (+2 attack and damage)
Destruction Judgement (+3 damage rolls)
Flames of the Faithful (Flame Burst on Iyandrosa)
Bane (Giant) (2/7 used) (Chianlii counts as a +3 weapon, does +2d6.)

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Probably, but surely the ettin's visible anyway being over ten feet tall and that :P. I just dread to see the squishies slowly walking into melee...

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

You can't fireball the roof?

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

To fluff this out...

Maysalkirii nods approvingly at Dragox fireballing the tower, then poises himself on the balls of his feet. Just as Dragox's fireball lands, Feek uses the momentum of the blast to leap above the flames, somersaulting and landing back on his feet next to the singed Giants, completely unharmed and grinning in bloodlust.

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Sorry, super busy and this post took a long time...

Maysalkirii suddenly appears behind the Ettin, Ilyandrosa bathed in righteous flame and Chianni in a pale white light. He lunges with both blades into the exposed back of the Ettin...

Swift action Bane (Giant) on Chianni, full attack. Five foot step to the west after the attack.

Active Effects-

Bless (+1 attack and save vs fear)
Divine Favor (+2 attack and damage)
Destruction Judgement (+3 damage rolls)
Flames of the Faithful (Flame Burst on Iyandrosa)
Bane (Giant) (1/7 used) (Chianlii counts as a +3 weapon, does +2d6.)

Ilyandrosa- VS Flat Footed
1d20 + 19 ⇒ (6) + 19 = 25
1d6 + 14 + 2d6 + 4d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 14 + (4, 1) + (1, 5, 2, 1) + (1) = 31

Chianlii-
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
1d6 + 16 + 2d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 16 + (3, 2) + (6, 6) = 35

Self-Harm
1d6 ⇒ 4

Narses Kale wrote:

huh.. why did I assume the ogres whent behind the building? meh.

Realizing he's heading in the wrong direction Narses curses and heads back around the building and up the stairs.

Double move to K 33

There is a rolled down ladder rolled from the roof of the buiding. Maysalkirii can't answer right now sorry Tahllana.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Sounds like Ogre 2 is using some weird form of the drag maneuver where you don't roll VS CMD, but Dragox is 15 feet away and out of reach? Is he reeling in the lassoo? Also I think Dragox only used his move action last round and was hoping for feedback before he used a standard...

DM Only:

Maysalkirii quietly draws his blades and casts Flames of the Faithful, invoking the judgement of destruction as he does so. He 5 foot steps closer to the group of giants (now 5 feet away)

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

My movement worked out over MSN, you don't hear anything from Maysalkirii.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

You may want to hold off on your action for now as Maysalkirii is hoping to prevent an ambush.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

I'd like Maysalkirii on the walkway please. Move me to I27 this turn but i'd like feedback on whether he sees anything before using the rest of his movement. If he doesn't, continue to K24, leaping diagonally off and onto the walkway (I auto-pass the acro check). This still leaves me with a standard action left (and a little movement i think).

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

Maysalkirii casts Invisibility and advances, shouldering his bow (note his speed is 50 feet).

Active Effects- Invisibility, Divine Favor, Bless, Invisibility Purge.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

At the very least, Tahlanna goes before one of the ogres so would have just shot the one that was still there.

Male Human Monk 2/Fighter 4

If 21 misses flat-footed AC can we get a bit more info? What armour are they wearing etc., what happened to the silence arrow...

Maysalkirii advances 30 feet and shoots again, missing again.
