Combat
Maximus is here to heal. He'll try to only spend 1 resolve point per encounter unless he thinks it's late in the adventure or people are in serious need; at level 1, 2d8 is a lot of healing. His medic stuff doesn't kick in until level 2. :(

In high-leverage situations (boss fight, party in trouble, etc.) he will mind thrust the biggest, baddest-looking thing.

In cases where it's plausible that conversation could win the day, he'll try to use Command to shut down a fight or save a life.

If he ever gets a ranged weapon he will happily take potshots with it during combat but he couldn't afford one right now.
Starship Combat
Maximus's best (and only viable) starship officer role is as the Magic Officer. He'll spend early rounds scrying on the opposing ship(s) if no science officer is present, or extending the range of his allies' weapons if that's useful. Later on he will likely be giving the pilot bonuses on their piloting checks with precognition.
