I think that ambushing them near the ogre cell is better.If we do it next to the door the second guard will just run away.
In any case , lets try the one or the other ,or i will lose patience and simply kick the door and color spray their brains out.

Come on ,it was perfectly reasonable to try. It's actually my fault for not been able to identify the thing.
And it would have been hilarious to try and beat the odds if we were playing on table.
Unfortunately Post to Post is to slow for such experiments.

And for the record i blame this on Tiadora she should have been more specific about the veil it's her fault .( unlike certain wizard without detect magic who is absolutely blameless)

Unfortunately no, prohibited school divination mean no detect magic until 2nd level. Normally i could just get it on scroll with my starting wealth and learn it ,but not in this AP.

Bad decision i admit.
But thanks to Ardra we know what the veil basically do, and what it don't do (it doesn't explode in our faces :) ).
That will have to suffice for now.

Now about the plan, i think we can deal with the guards but if you feel that its too risky...
How about that,i can try to befriend the ogre next door then convince him to do the distraction.That way we can probably surprise the guards from behind.

Ok two guards,one of them hangs back.
The first thing that comes to mind is:
We free ourselves ,but pretend that we are still locked, and when they come to restore the order we jump at them.
Someone have more creative thoughts?

If anyone have to risk getting beaten by the guards i think it should be me, after all when the real combat starts i will stay behind ,plus i have better chance to talk my way out of trouble.

So this is the plan then ?
We fake infighting or Ziva sings until the guards arrive.
Then when the shift changes we act.
I think we can deal with 1 or 2, maybe even capture one. If there are more of them we have to try more sneaky approach .

I use prestidigitation to color the floor .
The image persist until everyone has time to study it then vanishes

Still frustrated by Tiadora and feeling safely away, Coral smirk at the woman.

I try to cast magic hand to hold the veil in front of everyone. It doesn't have material components but if the chains get in the way:

I have murdered no one. Some have died, but we were just trying to protect ourselves.

The guards open the door,and drag young raven haired woman inside.
Ignoring her protests they chain her to the wall and prepare to leave.
The woman stares at the other convicts with obvious fear and scream to the guards.
Hey! Come back you can't leave me alone with this...
One of the guards slaps her across the face, and they leave, locking the door behind themselves.
The woman move as far away as her chains allow, and stays quiet trying not to look at her inmates.

Bit of overreaction perhaps, but there are some pretty scary people inside this cell.

I will play Coral ,human wizard, expelled from the mage academy and convicted for high theft .
Coral evildoing record will probably be the lowest of the group ,but i do plan to catch up.

Character story:
Corvina Veehal ,or Coral as she prefers to be called was one of most talanted students in the Talingarde's academy of arcane arts.

Her natural charisma quickly made her unofficial leader among the other students.
Her admirers would follow her every reckless whim,from wild night parties to cruel pranks against students she disliked.
Most teachers were willing to turn blind eye to her mischiefs,because of her unquestionable tallant in the magic art and her personal charm.
At least until she finally crossed the line.

Corvina has always been intrigued by the dark power and forbidden knowledge and extremely annoyed that some dull zealots, without even a hint of arcane tallant are allowed to hamper her education.
And when she find out information about secret vault inside the academy ,that contained scrolls and books forbidden by the church of Mitra,the temptation was too great.
She dig up as much as she could and with her gang of admirers devised a plan to get in the vault.
Alas one of her "friends" proved too pious ,and in the last moment alerted the authorities.
Normally the students should be under the jurisdiction of the academy , but since the vault contained not only scrolls, but also artifacts and relics of the asmodean faith,the wizards choose not to confront the church . Corvina was expelled and judged by the clergy.
Found guilty of high theft she is sent to Branderscar prison.

Stats and some description soon.The story assumes a lot about Talingarde i don't even know if they have magical academy,so let me know if something contradicts too much.
