Consume Magic Items (Su): The arcanist can consume the power of potions, scrolls, staves, and wands, using them to fill her arcane reservoir. Using this ability is a standard action that provokes an attack of opportunity. When using this exploit, the arcanist adds a number of points to her arcane pool equal to half the level of the spell contained in the item (o-level and 1st level spells donot recharge the arcanist’s arcane reservoir). If used on a potion or scroll, the item is destroyed. If used on a wand, the wand loses 5 charges (if it has less than 5 charges, the wand is destroyed and the arcanist gains no benefit). If used on a staff, it looses one charge and the arcanist gains a number of points to his arcane reservoir equal to the highest-level spell the staff can cast using only 1 charge (if the staff has no spells that require only 1 charge, the arcanist cannot use that staff with this ability). No more than 1 charge can be drawn from a staff each day in this way. Points gained in excess of the reservoir’s maximum are lost. Metamagic Knowledge: The arcanist can select one metamagic feat as a bonus feat. She must meet the prerequisites of this feat Metamixing (Su): The arcanist can expend one point from her arcane reservoir to add a metamagic feat that she knows to a spell as she casts it, using a higher-level spell slot as normal, but using the spell’s original casting time. She can use this ability to add a metamagic feat to a spell that she prepared using a metamagic feat, although she cannot the same metamagic feat on a given spell more than once. Potent Magic (Su): Whenever the arcanist expends one use of her arcane reservoir to increase the caster level of a spell, the caster level is increased by 2 instead of 1. Whenever she expends one point from her arcane reservoir to increase the DC of a spell, the DC is increased by 2 instead of 1. Equipment:

Matteo was born in Galduria in Varisia. Early in life it became clear that the boy had a natural talent for magic. Wherever he went, he was able to cause minor magical events to occur. He once turned the neighbour's cow blue as a practical joke, and made red spots appear on the village bully. When he came of age, his parents sent him to the Twilight Academy. While there, it was discovered that he was powerful indeed. Not only could he use his innate magic, but he could also do more with magic through study. This meant that in time he could learn to tear magic apart and force it to obey his will. This terrified his instructors. It didn't help that the boy was cocky, and rude to his intructors; feeling that he was better than them. While at the Twilight Academy, Matteo had a strong focus on evocation magic, and the ancient Varisian art of tattoo magic, and he was able to master both quickly. And so it was, as one of the youngest graduates the Academy had ever seen, he left the Academy to study on his own. Matteo wanted a way to show off his talent to the world, and yet expand his knowledge and mastery over magic. He soon learned of the Pathfinders and rushed to Absalom to join their cause. Matteo wears the traditional colorful clothing of his people. He prefers oranges, turquoise and purple, but often changes the colors to suit his mood that day. He prefers to wear sleeveless shirts that allow people to admire his tattoos on his biceps: one a nonmagical tattoo of traditional Varisian style, the other a magical tattoo depicting an icy blue and white swirl of pure arcane energy interwoven with another swirl of purple and black arcane energy covering his enitre upper arm. Matteo usually prefers a shaved head and a goatee, though at times he has been known to wear a mohawk. He is pale, and not all that strong, as is typical for one who has spent most of his life in study. His eyes are icy blue, and much of his magic matches this color, though at times the energy manifests as purple of black. Matteo can be tough to deal with at times. He views himself as one of, if not the most, intelligent life form on Golarion, and is not afraid to say it. At times, he can be rude this in how he speaks to people of "lesser intelligence", though in his mind he may not be doing anything wrong. He thinks very highly of his looks, however, and does what he can to protect them. While able to use a starknife and crossbow, he much prefers the use of the arcane over martial weapons in a fight.
