my guess is Bill Slavicsek. Who better after being booted from WoTC?

I am of two minds on this. First I know for fact the positive impact playing this game can have in building problem solving, analytical and social skills. This would seem to be a good thing in prison since they are not only there for incarceration for crimes committed but to be rehabilitated so they might return to society as more productive individuals. I recall back in the 80's Dragon magazine had a letter from the editor in which this issue was addressed. At that time the battle was won and the prisoners allowed to have their fun.
Then on the other hand we have a murderer who took someone's life away. What about their victim? They can't play a simple game, or spend time with their loved ones anymore because someone ended their life. So why should the murderer have the fun his victim is no longer able to have? I suppose it would be fairer to determine on a case by case basis whether Joe in Cell 3 gets to play D&D because Joe is a model prisoner and has not had any disciplinary measures vs Jack in Cell 4 who is constantly disruptive to order and has been in trouble quite a bit. As far as their rights go I personally think they have given up those rights when they did whatever they did to be imprisoned in the first place. Murderers serving life sentences or on death row should get the very bare minimum of any special considerations. If anything, I personally believe these felons on death row should be executed to alleviate some of the overcrowded conditions our prisons already have.

I haven't submitted anything yet. Therefore I am not sitting at home chewing my fingernails to the bone waiting for the axe to fall. As a long time DM of D&D (30 years spanning 1e-3.5e) I first approached PathFinder after reviewing 4th edition and not really liking what I found. PathFinder on the other claw is a very well thought out and well written piece of work reminiscent of the olden days of D&D. I am in process of getting the hardcover copies of the Bestiary and the Core Rulebook to go with the pdfs I have already downloaded. I am also purchasing as soon as I get home 6 of the scenarios from season 1. With all of this in hand I will proceed to digest the enormous amount of material, run a few games with my home group and possibly be ready to make my own submission in the near future. Then I can sit here and chew my claws to the bone while waiting for the Final Word. Meanwhile Kudos to those of you who passed through the fire and don't give up to those who went down in flames.

Just want to make sure I have this correct . . . for the $41 dollars I get the entire 110 card set, right?

Sorry. You get 10 packs of 11 random cards - 1 armor, 2 weapons, 2 potions, 1 scroll, 1 wand, 1 ring or rod/staff, 2 wonderous items, and 1 foil that can be any of the above. You WILL NOT get a complete set of cards as there will be repeats of several. And actually, the "random" of Hero's Hoard was pretty uneven so theres a bunch of stuff you won't get and others you'll get triples of. All cool cards that you can find a way to use when role-playing, but not the best way to get a complete set.

If you're starting from scratch, get a boost to get a bunch of cards, then buy/trade to get the ones you're missing. There a guy named Derek who posts on these board who sells and trades a lot (he helped me complete both my HH and RW sets - thanks Derek!). Here's his website:

There are also a couple of trade threads here at Paizo. They're a little slow these days but I had good luck there in the past. Finally, there is at least one web-store selling individual cards for around a buck. Here is their website:

Last but not least, there are 5 or 6 cards that are almost impossible to find - studded leather, tower shield, spiked chain, warhammer, and one of the staves, IIRC. Good luck on those.

Hope this helps,

Out of these I just got all of them except the Tower Shield
