About Marlowe Blood
In a distant and terrible corner of the planes beyond the Outer Sphere, an enemy of the kytons fell into the chain devils' hands. Though the planewalker was eventually rescued by his companions, the fiends made use of the blood left behind to create a strange hybrid creature for some fell future use.
With no desire to see the end of their plans, the kyton-spawn took advantage of an opening torn by an inexpert summoning ritual from a distant Prime to escape into a green new land, shadow-haunted but far preferable to the city of chains, or other grim places that rise dimly within his memories. Though he remembers little of the life of his progenitor, the name Marlowe somehow seemed fitting.
He happened upon a gang of goblins preparing to ambush the crew of an ocean-going vessel that had found landfall on Nidal's coast. In gratitude for Marlowe's intervention, the Andorans took him onwards to Magnimar, where his inquiries brought intriguing hints of an organisation whose work seemed well suited to Marlowe's talents.
Marlowe travelled to the Grand Lodge in Absalom, where he had a brush with a deadly plague.
