Cranky looks back at Netkin and, after narrowing his eyes says "What is... allergies?" After the discussion and words spoken, Markus can be seen sweating. He is nervous for some reason. He says "The citadel... It is beautiful! And I... we get to work on it? It's a blessing!" He is quickly reminded of the current residents and says to Ardoinel "We having the deed does not exclude them. By having a legal claim, it only means that we can make it our home as well. It does not mean we have to expel them. It is perfectly reasonable to coexist. And they can pay their rent with labor. Be it manual labor to maintain the keep or help defend it, an arrangement can and should be made with them." He takes a while looking at the portals and says "With enough time, I can repair these. It would be an honor."

He opens his tunic and from inside a small fox jumps out. The mage says "Everyone, this is my friend, Cranky. Say hi Cranky." The fox, surprisingly speaks in perfect Common "Hello everybody." He has a squeaky voice, but cute. Markus says "Take a look Cranky, this room is beautiful!" As the little fox takes it all in, Markus scans the area for magical auras.

Markus looks at the creature a bit nauseous. The way it speaks is quite unpleasant. He wants to ask what is happening, since he and the other two clearly came into a conversation that was already happening. A fox that is walking next to his feet looks at him and he looks back, and they seem to exchange some thoughts. His hands hover closer to his spell component pouch.

In the other game, we had just defeated Voz Lirayne and her undead guards. So, the idea is that we came back from that and in the next Call for Heroes we were called to investigate these stalkings and now we're finding these dead hunting spiders? And we're about to be united with the other group, sure, but my character was a bit invested in what Voz was working on. Can we pretty please get a small recount of this missing bit? Markus points forward and whispers "Trouble!" He tells Cranky to quietly come closer, have a sniff and come back. For information, Markus has a fox familiar called Cranky. His abilities are currently scent (locked), Darkvision, Share senses, Speech.
I remember a greater barghest having a 4th level first edition party nearly die every round. If this is similar, oh boy...
