Markus adds "The chance to work on a Hellknight fortress is a gift itself. I will also serve." The wizard is only half present in the conversation, as he keeps imagining renovations on the citadel. He is torn between staying classical and coming up with his own signature, but he imagines he will end up with a mixture of the two.

Markus is impressed with Ardoinel's recount. If it were left to him, he'd have just given a descriptive, technical story, but out of nowhere he felt excited and empowered. He raises his fist and says "Yeah!", but then recomposes himself as he realizes the man was addressing the council, not him.

Cranky looks back at Netkin and, after narrowing his eyes says "What is... allergies?"

After the discussion and words spoken, Markus can be seen sweating. He is nervous for some reason. He says "The citadel... It is beautiful! And I... we get to work on it? It's a blessing!" He is quickly reminded of the current residents and says to Ardoinel "We having the deed does not exclude them. By having a legal claim, it only means that we can make it our home as well. It does not mean we have to expel them. It is perfectly reasonable to coexist. And they can pay their rent with labor. Be it manual labor to maintain the keep or help defend it, an arrangement can and should be made with them."

He takes a while looking at the portals and says "With enough time, I can repair these. It would be an honor."

Markus says "Cranky, come back here!" and the fox runs and hides behind his leg. He turns to the others and says "So, that was elven for This door only opens to whoever has the Alseta's Ring. Anyone has any idea of what that might be?"

Markus says "I agree with the elf. Cranky, go ahead and give it a sniff, will ya?"

The fox goes to the door and starts to sniff it, then reports what he finds.

My familiar has the speech ability, so he can just tell us what he smells with his scent ability.

Markus is surprised at Resa's question. He thinks for a while and replies "I never thought about it. My sister and I came to Breachill after escaping slavery in Kintargo. I think we will probably stay there, in the town that took us in. I am an architect. I will continue to build. Maybe open my own shop." He is unsure about the last part.

Markus says "Thank you, Ellaeaanda and Ardoinel. I'm sorry this has plagued you for so long. Do you think your dreams mean something specific?"

Markus is amazed at the entire scene. He has always considered Shelyn as his patron, but it is only because he didn't know Findeladlara well enough. If he can, one day he wishes to plan and build a room as beautiful as this one.

He opens his tunic and from inside a small fox jumps out. The mage says "Everyone, this is my friend, Cranky. Say hi Cranky." The fox, surprisingly speaks in perfect Common "Hello everybody." He has a squeaky voice, but cute. Markus says "Take a look Cranky, this room is beautiful!"

As the little fox takes it all in, Markus scans the area for magical auras.

Markus relaxes as the fight ends. He says "I'm glad I didn't hurt anyone from our side this time. I was careful with that. Anyway, I knew there was a language I was still meaning to learn. Good thing that you learned it."

He asks somewhat stupidly "I have no idea what the Endless Destruction is. Can anyone please fill me in?"

Vrosi is very much an unarmed combatant. I think he'd benefit from the claw?

Markus tries to decrease the leader's impact and creates a flow of pressurized water at the leader.

Markus sees he can't attack the creatures like he wanted. Instead, he tries remembering what he knows about them and sends his metal darts flying.

Markus brushes past the fungus and goes with the others.

He notices the melted structure and says "We can't exclude the possibility that whatever melted this is still around. We should be careful, it would hurt a lot." He is really curious to know what happened here, being an architect himself. He tries to find magical auras.

Detect Magic. Also, is there anything else that Markus can notice on the architecture/engineering of this structure?

Markus says "These could be useful. Not sure why we'd need wind in this cave, but... these gloves certainly seem powerful."

Markus opens his eyes wide as a fight ensues. He quickly recovers the needles from his pouch and throws them while casting a spell. Then he moves to a more favorable position.

Needle darts then move out of sight.

Markus looks at the creature a bit nauseous. The way it speaks is quite unpleasant. He wants to ask what is happening, since he and the other two clearly came into a conversation that was already happening.

A fox that is walking next to his feet looks at him and he looks back, and they seem to exchange some thoughts. His hands hover closer to his spell component pouch.

Vrosi, Markus, Vitus and GM:

In the other game, we had just defeated Voz Lirayne and her undead guards. So, the idea is that we came back from that and in the next Call for Heroes we were called to investigate these stalkings and now we're finding these dead hunting spiders? And we're about to be united with the other group, sure, but my character was a bit invested in what Voz was working on. Can we pretty please get a small recount of this missing bit?

Markus points forward and whispers "Trouble!" He tells Cranky to quietly come closer, have a sniff and come back.

For information, Markus has a fox familiar called Cranky. His abilities are currently scent (locked), Darkvision, Share senses, Speech.

I remember a greater barghest having a 4th level first edition party nearly die every round. If this is similar, oh boy...
