Male Human Fighter 6

the dice bot is the most fearsome creature yet!

Male Human Fighter 6

Marcelio will attempt to control the mummy's movement with the net while continuing to jab with the trident.

Male Human Fighter 6

oops, sorry, work posting and didn't realize the net had been successful

Male Human Fighter 6

Marcelio again throws his net at the mummy and attempts two more jabs with the trident, at the same time shifting to provide flanking position for his companions (if needed).

Net: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Trident 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 101d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Trident 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 161d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Male Human Fighter 6

Marcelio flies into the chamber and heads straight for the mummy closing with it in a single move. He casts his net on the foul creature, then jabs it with his trident.

Net: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Trident: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 121d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Male Human Fighter 6

Feeling empowered from Kyson's blessings and shamed by his earlier retreat, Marcelio quaffs a potion of fly and prepares to swoop down on the mummy with net and trident in hand.

The oracle went ahead of me, what does that say of my courage? I must make amends!

Male Human Fighter 6

Marcelio scrabbles back up the chain/rope into the room above the trapdoor, his white eyes peering from a sooty face.

To hell with that, I'll be cinders before reaching the floor if that weepy thing can throw fireballs, whines Marcelio, what's plan B?

Male Human Fighter 6

Unwilling to drop 40 feet into the mold, Marcelio braces for the blast.

ouch, medic!

Male Human Fighter 6

Marcelio shakes his head, yet another 'rescue' on the horizon, I can see Kyson now, mug hoisted, explaining how he was just unwrapping the maiden's linen when I pulled him away.

Marcelio is still determined to get a least one shot at the beast, heck he had visions of a perfect lob of alchemist fire to the things cranium, alas it was just that, a vision. Leaning through the opening he unleashes a single crossbow bolt.

shot: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 151d8 ⇒ 5

Then he starts climbing down the ladder with the rope hanging as an assist.

climb: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27

As he climbs down he scans the ground below, taking particular interest in the mold thing and planning to use the rope to swing away from it once he gets within 10 feet of the bottom.

Male Human Fighter 6

Using the same grappling hook and rope and tied for a 5' drop only, Marcelio makes his way onto the chain ladder and starts shooting at the mummy with the crossbow.

Male Human Fighter 6

Did I mention that it is a darkwood bow?

Male Human Fighter 6

glad the ladder is bolted down, I was worried this encounter was going to be broken

Marcelio sheepishly looks at his companions, "I seem to have left my bow back in the DNB, does anyone have a ranged weapon I can use? Also, lets pour a flask of oil on the ladder now to make it difficult for anything climbing it, we can always use a rope to get down later.

I assume we'll pummel the mummy with ranged attacks until it reaches the top of the ladder, then beat on it some more while trying to knock it back down to the chamber below. Once the mummy gets to the top of the ladder, I'll use the net attack on it to get it entangled and hopefully help with the knock it off the ladder bit.

Male Human Fighter 6

ok, I'll sacrifice that nat 20 and take a different route

Marcelio reaches for the flask, but Kyson pulls it back, "Wait a minute, that's a bog mummy and resistant to fire.", he tells Marcelio.

Thinking on the situation for a moment, Marcelio quickly forms a new plan. Look friends, if the trials of Pollen Island taught us anything it's that we're better off attacking from 50 feet in the air and making our foes find a way to get to us. Help me pull up this chain ladder, then we'll plunk away at that mummy until it's really weeping.

Male Human Fighter 6

Burn both suggests Marcelio, neither mold nor undead are something I wish to touch.

Producing a rope and grappling hook from his pack, Marcelio secures the hook to the trapdoor, but leaves the rope coiled above for the moment.

The mold we can address before the climb down, some flasks of oil and a tindertwig should help, but the wrapped weeping muddy thing still has me concerned.

Taking the offered flask of Alchemist Fire, Marcelio ties the rope to himself for a 5 ft. drop only and climbs 5 feet down on the chain ladder, then heaves the Alchemist Fire at the linen wrapped corpse.

(A squared + B squared = C squared; 1225 + 1225 = 2450 ; 49.5 ft. throw )

Thrown Splash Attack (+10, -8 for range): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Male Human Fighter 6

Uugg, what is that, linen wrapped dead that weeps mud and brine? Marcelio looks to his companions for any explanation to clear his confusion. Let's not give up our tactical advantage and high ground until we know better what that thing may be.

ZomBees don't seem so bad at this point, at least on Pollen Island we were out in the fresh air. That whole Flower People Power movement was a waste of energy though.

Male Human Fighter 6

As the loud groan of the trapdoor and the jangling of the chain ladder announce our presence, Marcelio forgoes any element of surprise and drops a sunrod into the chamber to illuminate the room below.

Male Human Fighter 6

With the party gathered, Marcelio moves to the trapdoor and readies to open it.

Stand back good friends and be ready. We know not what lurks below, but zomBees may buzz forth the moment this door opens.

With his trident in one hand, Marcelio attempts to pull the trap door open.

Male Human Fighter 6

I'm assuming someone will have a sunrod, I never updated my character sheet to include mundane gear, can I do that now and provide the aforementioned sunrod?

"What do you detect Seiharu? Is the trapdoor safe, should I open it?

Male Human Fighter 6

Trusty Seiharu, glad we have his skills for this tomb crawl, the whole place just feels wrong. And why do they call this Eightfingers tomb, clearly it's opposable digit discrimination, but it does sound more sinister than Twothumbs temple.

what's our light source in this tomb?

Keeping one hand on the end of rope, Marcelio surveys the bottom of the Oblivion Shaft and the trapdoor drawing upon his knowledge of dungeoneering.

Knowledge (Dungeoneering): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

What is the speed of the ship at this point? Am I sure that VonTeado has left the ship already?

Following Kyson's lead, Marcelio pursues the cloud of mist, but doesn't leave the ship until he is sure the mist cloud has left it as well.

Not again, a year from now Kyson will tell the tale of the time I 'rescued' him from the beautiful gnome maiden society and their flying brothel.

Male Human Fighter 6

oye, VonTeado turned to mist and fled rather than lie there dead? And he still has his head? Can I change my action to pursuing the mist cloud and jabbing at it with the trident?

Male Human Fighter 6

"Kaz, Kyson, is there any shred of good among these gnomish miscreants?"

Marcelio flies to the top of the stairs and presses the points of his trident against the neck of the pilot.

"One last time my gnomish friend, you can either become our crew and enjoy a fine life of exciting adventures, or you can bleed out your last as we fly away", growls Marcelio.

Is this heap even worth saving? The acid was burning through the floor back there.

Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Knowledge Engineering: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Male Human Fighter 6

Coughing and sputtering, Marcelio gasps for air as the acid fumes burn his lungs and make his eyes water. He tries to intimidate the gnomes again, but speech eludes him as his throat constricts with the bitter taste of bile.

Cursed gnome inventions, maybe this airship isn't such a grand thing, a fine pile of kindling it can make on the rocks below for all I care.

Marcelio takes a 5' step to the south and jabs at VonTeado twice more with his trident, then attempts to hover to avoid the sways in the ship and the collapsing floor.

First Trident Jab: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Second Trident Jab: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Hover Check (DC15 Fly, +6 from dex, good fly ability, armor penalty): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

Male Human Fighter 6

Marcelio rises to his feet and steps 5' SE to close with VonTeado, hoping for an attack of opportunity on Hull.

In an intimidating voice he shouts at the gnomes, "Turn this ship around now or a feather token tree will tear it apart and drop you to your deaths!

The tree token worked before in the cramped hive of the Bee People, luckily for both Kyson and myself, but I must be careful of my non-flying companions as I learned last time.

swift: intimidate; move: stand; move: 5' to square directly west of VonTeado
intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
attack of opportunity if VonTeado provokes: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
possible damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
wow, that dice function is great!

Male Human Fighter 6

Using flight, Marcelio pursues the mist if able, ready to jab at it again with his trident.

To his companions he yells, "Disperse the mist, my fortitude is strong, do not be concerned with collateral damage to me!"

Male Human Fighter 6

(With the Net and Trident feat and the Two Weapon Fighting feat I believe my trident attack should be at +9/+4 and +11/+6 when not two weapon fighting. Would I also get flanking from Kazmuk? Thanks)

Marcelio moves to the stairs and casts his net at Hull while jabbing him with the trident.

"My gnome friends", he calls out "Follow not this 'Dull' VonTeado or you'll get bleached quicker than a Varisian courtesan's hair. Let us lead you in adventures sure to keep you young at heart and I'll pledge 10% of my wealth to your acquisition of interesting items and colorful outfits. Plus we have a healer and that's a better benefits package than any barge union can offer."

(swift action: diplomacy check to win over the gnomes; move action: to attack position at the top of the stairs; standard action: attack VonTeado)
