Mandraiv aids Aredhel's attempts to improve the camp. He says to Aredhel, "My armor might not be as good as yours for protecting me from swords and arrows, but on the plus side I don't have to worry about it rusting and it provides partial protection from the rain."

Anybody else going to post? I like the game, but don't want to be the only one posting. Mandraiv leads the group to the last site the creature was spotted at and looks around. Wisdom (Perception) check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Mandraiv replies, "Borle sent us. He said that they are having problems with a beast of some kind attacking people. He thought you might be able to tell us something about it." Charisma (Persuasion) check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Mandraiv says, "The kobolds should not be a problem. They were only attacking you because Bargle and the dragon were ordering them to. Bargle and the dragon have left and the kobolds surrendered to us. We ordered them to leave you alone, and they knew we have could have killed them all if we had thought it was worth the effort." "As to your other problem, if my companions are willing we will check it out and take care of it."

Mandraiv sighs. He says, "Well, we are fortunate that the only person we lost left of his own free will. But other than that this has been a disappointment. I see no need to go chasing kobolds in the hills. I also suspect that it will at the very least be months if not years before Bargle returns here, if he returns at all. I suggest we go back to the fishing village and get passage to the mainland. I'll see if I can get some word from my contacts about where Bargle may have gone. I suspect that will take a while though."

Mandraiv breathes a sigh of relief and says, "I'm glad that's over. Looks like Bargle wanted to promote himself to godhood." Mandraiv summons his pact blade as a longsword and sheaths it. He looks the room and the altar over. Perception check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

If I took 10 pts of damage from Aredhel's attack, and then 8 more points of damage from the tapestry before I could act, then I should have been at 0 hit points (exactly) before I got the chance to do anything. So I should arguably be unconscious in the tapestry.

Mandraiv struggles to free himself from the creature's grip. Strength (Athletics) check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 Mandraiv would have had his pact blade in the form of a glaive. He will drop his pact blade in order to try to struggle free of the creature.

Yep, you got it. Mandraiv returns to the group, closing the doors to the rooms behind him as he does. He says, "If nothing else we now have food we should be able to eat without problems." IIRC there was another door coming off the dinning area. Mandraiv will check that out as per usual.

Mandraiv turns to the rest of the group and says, "We have loot! The chandelier might be a little too bulky to drag around though. Does somebody want to take the coins, or should I just lock everything back up in this room? We could make it our treasury as we clean the place out."

Mandraiv reconfigures his pact blade as a glaive. Carefully probing ahead of himself as he goes, Mandraiv starts down the westernmost of the northern corridors. Perception check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 Stealth check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

After the kobolds depart Mandraiv invites the rest of the party up so they can look at the map. Mandraiv says: "That was disconcerting. Not only does Bargle know we are here, he has retreated deeper into the cave system to get support from a black dragon. So as opposed to a quick in and out raid we are now looking at something more like a major campaign." "We should establish some sort of base area here in the castle where we can safely rest and heal up. I wasn't too worried about the kobolds, but the other creatures we are starting to run into are too dangerous to leave behind us while we still have a dragon to face down. So we're looking at having to totally clean the place out as we proceed. While that will give Bargle and the dragon time to prepare against us, I think that's going to have to be a necessary evil to put up with. What do the rest of you think?"

Mandraiv replies, "In that case I will give you our last two demands now. The first is that given you will be leaving here I want you go through your area and make sure that none of your traps are set. While I can usually detect and disarm them there's always some luck involved and I'm not going to want to deal with that. The second is that I want your tribe to leave the people in the village on the coast alone. If they come here to attack you, you can defend yourselves. But do not go to their village and fields to cause problems." "For our part we will leave you alone and not follow your tribe into the hills. We will also try to make sure that you know when we have left. We would likely leave a small fire burning in front of the gate or some such thing."

Mandraiv replies, "That's what I said. We are here for Bargle, not kobolds. While I am pleased that you have offered yourselves as slaves, we do not actually need your services. So just leave us alone and we will leave you alone. Now, before we leave for good, we are going to want to talk to your Chief face to face. But that will likely not be for at least a couple of days yet. We will let you know when we want to talk. Other than that, you leave us alone, and we will leave you alone."
