Maldor grabs a handful of stones from his pocket as he moves into the hallway and towards the bridge. Before he gets there, he will focus his mind on the rocks and fling them towards the nearest pirate goon. They stones accelerate rapidly as they fly, striking the pirate with more force than one would think possible!
However, the rocks act differently in micro-gravity than the earth-bound human accounts for, the rocks impact the walls and ceiling!

Thank goodness for the space suit - otherwise you would see that Maldor is fairly bouncing off of the walls! Whether from nerves or excitement you couldn't tell, but he is definitely fully alert and ready for the assault. Once Cross signals the start of their op, his nerves suddenly settle into a steely calm from his years of training at the Institute. It also takes the young human a few tries to get the smooth maneuvering in vacuum of Cross, but he at least doesn't kick off into space...

Maldor finds a medical supply shop and picks up a spare medkit and a handful of healing serums for the group. As they wander the station, he is tempted by a custom gaming controller with a 4D headset, but decides that he should spend less time gaming and maybe learn how to do something useful on the ship. In the end, he resists all other temptations except for a new, carbon steel survival knife featuring a 6" blade with blood groove that provides blade strength while reducing the weight of the knife. The spine of the blade has serrations for sawing applications, and it also includes a polymer sheath with pistol belt clip and leg-tie down for secure placement.

Mal already has a medkit (basic); an injection gun (for medicinals); two vials of analgesic for field surgery; and two canisters of sprayflesh. Thought another medkit and some healing serums would be wise purchases... So recommend purchasing a spare medkit and a handful of serums (four?) That will be 300 creds total from the group fund. Out of his own pocket, Maldor purchases a survival knife (95) and the clothes from Cross (5), leaving him 500 credits.

Maldor scans through the new clothing items, picking up a pair of pants, a belt, a t-shirt and a hooded jacket. All in all, he looked like most every other space traveler. Not a dock worker - the clothes were too nice and too new. And not a rich tourist - the clothes weren't nearly nice enough for that. But perfect for blending in with a crowd. Of course, his skinsuit fit perfectly well under the new clothes and were hidden by them, and pulsecaster pistol was concealed well enough by the jacket. His battlestaff could not be hidden, so he would leave it on the ship. Maybe he could find a dagger or combat knife somewhere in the station for self defense... If he finds any medical supplies or kits, Maldor will examine them and see about supplementing his powers with more mundane, but less feared, healing methods.

Maldor couldn't help staring at everything in awe and wonder. The ads were all random announcements, since he had absolutely no online presence or identity that the marketing AIs could tap into. He found himself apologizing to 3D vids because they were so life-like and beyond anything he had seen. Sure the Institute had augmented reality training routines, but nothing like this! Sorry it took me so long to get back - work had a lot piled up waiting for me! Morocco is great!! We saw the High Atlas Mountains, Sahara desert, the port city of Essaouria, and Marrakech. Definitely recommend it!

Well, everyone, today I leave for a two-week trip to Morocco! Because of the out-of-the-way places our trip will be going, I will most likely be completely off-grid until May 12th. Sorry for coming late to the discussion - once a day posting time =\ Love the theme of torching. I also think there needs to be a way to recover - think of running. You can run too fast or too long and suffer consequences, but you will likely recover from it over time. Likewise, using psychic energy builds up an endurance over time. In all of the literature and movies I've read/watched, "torching" could have physical or mental consequences. Perhaps change to "Take 1d6 HP of damage (bypassing Stamina)" or "Take 1d4 points of damage to your spell-casting ability (Int, Wis, Cha)" that can not be magically/mystically healed, but will recover over time. Unless you reach a certain point, which could kill you o render you a blubbering idiot. My 2 coppers =)

Maldor creeps slowly forward to a spot just behind Emily and opens his hands as he thrusts them towards the thugs. A small, spherical, floating wisp made of pure bluish-white light and energy rushes towards the face of the lead thug, temporarily distracting him!
