I guess I did not read things close enough.

I concede defeat.

I think your tag looks much cleaner without that messy "Charter" in there anyways Charles :)

Nifty emails Vic, made me go "Awwww" :)

Alright - the % difference between the "Extra gold per encounter" for Fast, Medium, and Slow remains fairly consistent:

Max 100% 86% 58%
Min 100% 55% 37%
Average 100% 68% 46%

The Average *Total* extra gp per level is rather consistent:
Average 100% 103% 104%

Given this info it might be wiser for players in Slow (and maybe Medium) games to tend towards permanent items over consumables, but the difference isn't that extreme, and doesn't exacerbate as you go to higher levels.

I keep refreshing my watch on this thread, hoping.

Then I check my email - and see a paizo order # email! ...

.. then I remember I decided to add the GameMastery Module subscription while I was itching for Pathfinder...

{goes back to waiting patiently}

Until both of those factors change, it would be foolish and irresponsible for me to make a decision about whether or not Pathfinder will convert to fourth edition.

Thanks for the update Erik!

And for everyone else - I think we had better relax a bit on this. We shouldn't mount too much pressure for a decision now for an issue that is a year away. Where would we choose, right now, to be on the safe side?

It'll be a huge decision if Pathfinder stays 3.5 (the right one in my mind, but still huge), and we should give Paizo the time to make the right choice for them, and us.

... and as for Microsoft comparisons, I'd say 4E is a lot closer to ME than Vista.

Actually the race to find something superior about flameblade began under the idea that Produce flame only gets its' time drastically reduced when you hurl it. I reread the spell description yesterday and it's the first time I ever noticed my mistake. Until that I was really curious as to what made Flame blade worth the extra spell level.

I had never noticed that either - thank you!

Also, it's quite possible you can only make one attack per round with Produce Flame, as a touch spell. Alternatively, Flame Blade is used like a scimitar, and thus would get iterative attacks.

If anyone's still looking for this, it's out from Green Ronin Publishing, available in the store here.

I won't be playing 4th Ed for at least 3 years(maybe never- I might wait for 5th to come out.) If Pathfinder goes 4th, I will probably be discontinuing my month-to-month. This is due to the somewhere nearly 50 3.5 ed books and several thousand version 1 D&D minis I now have. I enjoy 3.5 and will be playing it for at least that long, longer if it continues to get support from parties other than WOTC.

In a way, I'm greatful to WOTC for announcing the 4th Edition & DDM 2.0, because it means I no longer feel any urge whatsoever to buy anything more from them. I will continue to buy from Paizo as long as they support 3.5.

That being said, I would completely understand any decision Paizo made to switch to the new game in town, based on the need to follow the market. I just won't be part of that particular market. I would love it if Paizo could find a way to continue to support the market I belong to, steadfast 3.5 players/dms.

Wow Reckless - you nicely summed up my feelings just about perfectly. WOTC lost most of my respect when they pulled Codemonkeypublishing.com's license to produce E-Tools, and the rest with Dragon and Dungeon. They're simply obsolete now, at least to me.

I'll fully support Paizo, unless/until they switch to 4.0. After that, like you said, I'd understand, but wouldn't be a market.

Who cares about 4E? Pathfinder is far more important.

You can always dual-wield bastard swords and still use Power attack. Just an additional -2 to hit for off-handing a non-light weapon.

Good luck - and great write-ups everyone!

Game on!
