About Magnus Duloch
nspired by Sean Connery
They say life begins at forty, perhaps that’s true but for Magnus Duloch, life begins at Fifty Five. Specifically it began the day that his beloved wife Ketra passed away and Magnus decided to finally accomplish something that he had been putting off his entire life: Kill Razmir.
As a young boy, Magnus Duloch grew up among the intellectuals and scholars who lived in the old land of Melcat, a prosperous duchy on the farthest border of what some folk call the River Kingdoms. In those days there had been a great deal of political strife and upheaval but the intelligentsia class had remained largely insulated from the struggles of the River Kingdoms. Magnus lived within that bubble, quietly studying magic at the old university and waiting for the day when he could go forth and join the mystical Arcanemirium of Absalom.
Then came Razmir and his cult.
They conquered Melcat and burned thousands in a conflagration that scrubbed the old capital from the face of Golarion. Soon Magnus was just another refugee, forced to march across the River Kingdoms in search of a new home while Razmir and his ilk turned the land of Melcat into the land of Razmiran. On that day, as he watched his homeland burn, Magnus swore to the Gods that he would one day return...and kill Razmir.
Decades passed and Magnus the boy became Magnus the Wizard.
He excelled at his studies and became a well known sight in the Arcanemirium, wandering it’s halls, often lost in thought. Perhaps it was the result of witnessing Aerduin’s Folly first hand but in the years that passed, Magnus became a master of the Evocation school, constantly in search of new ways to unleash pure magical power upon the world.
But despite years passing, Magnus never forgot his vow to one day reclaim his old homeland. So after his children had grown and his wife had died, he resigned from his position at the Arcanemirium and walked across the city of Absalom to the Grand Lodge..for the time had come...
