Scipio Totti wrote:

What I understood from that is to make an attack of opportunity. Sorry if I'm wrong.

Theater of the mind it. The Goblins are moving towards you. Just roll for attack. This is PBP after all.

Scipio finishes off the goblin.

Here's the turn order:

Suddenly the players see a series of goblins who have torches. They must stolen the fuel to create the bonfire. Initiatives

As the players look around though the see goblins running through the rest of Sandpoint off on the side streets.

There is a calm for the party to collect themselves.

You see people start to flood the chaotic market again in an attempt to gather the belongings the goblins tried to steal.

If we're in combat if more than a day goes by you can just skip the turn. If for some reason you're going to be away or something, just let me know. We can wait for your return.

So how do you want us to check in if its days in between posts?

Waiting for Sarvin. Give him a couple more hours. Otherwise you can skip him and go Scipio.

The last Golbin turns to Arngrim, and attacks him with his sword. He hits Arngrim for 2 damage!

He cleaves off another Goblin's head!

Not sure whos turn it is, or where anything is, and not being able to see everyone on the map is throwing me off. I dont even know if anything is in reach or who is actually engaged.

The sounds of battle finally snap Arngrim from his daze and ruminations. Drawing his sword, he runs to help his new companions.

Assuming anything is in reach..

The Goblin is hit but not down.

Calathes Neverion wrote:

A map, even if it is a simple google docs spreadsheet type, would be helpful. Particularly when dealing with spells like color spray.

Calathes pokes his head out the door and targets one of the goblins with an acid splash.

The goblin screams before falling over. He's dead.

The first goblin looks back at Sarvis and fires his shortbow. He hits Sarvis for 4 damage.

It works.

The players look out he door of the tavern to see three goblins with dogslicers running a muck terrorizing the town folk!

Right now I have we are still waiting for one int roll. I'll post the initiative order soon.

Let's all wait a bit. We'll see if the last PC shows up. I'll let you know who is going first.

As the PCs are sitting in the tavern planning their adventure they hear a scream from outside followed by a chant.

"Goblins chew and goblins bite.
Goblins cut and goblins fight.
Stab the dot and cut the horse.
Goblins eat and take by force!

Goblins race and goblins jump.
Goblins slash and goblins bump.
Burn the skin and mash the head,
goblins here and you be dead!

Chase the baby, catch the pup.
Bonk the head to shut it up.
Bones be cracked, flesh be stewed,
We Be Goblins! You Be Food!"

Everyone roll for initiate.

Scipio, you do not know of a trap smith in town. However you know that if you are in need of healing Father Zantus will happily help you. The cathedral is full of clerics.

Guido
"That will be 8cp good sir."

Guido looks at Scipio.

Guido
"Will that be two mugs or two gallons?"

Alright guys. If you haven't yet head over to the Rise of the Runelords in the Play by Post section. I've added the first post of the game.

It is the Swallowtail Festival in Sandpoint. The festival is in the square in front of the cathedral in Sandpoint and celebrates the church's restoration, after it caught on fire a few years ago.

Mayor Deverin gets up on the podium to speak.
"Hello all. Welcome to our festivities. I ask everyone to please give a moment of silence to commemorate those who perished in last years fire...

Do not let sad memories ruin our day. Thank you all for contributing to such a large turnout. And now a word from Sheriff Belor Hemlock!"

Sheriff Hemlock
"Yes thank you all for coming to this festival. Just a few quick reminders. Be mindful of your belongings. Drunken and disorderly conduct is not allowed in Sandpoint. And please be careful at the bonfire tonight. And now Cyrdak Drokkus."

Cyrdak Drokkus
"Yes thank you Sheriff for bringing our spirits down. That's not what that festival is for. We're all here to have a good time. It has taken us many years to finance this restoration. Not to worry! Please stop by at the Sandpoint Theater for lot of live entertainment."

Drokkus steps off the stage and the Mayor takes the stage again.

Mayor Deverin
"Lord Lonjiku Kaijitsu was scheduled to speak, but he has taken ill and cannot be with us today. Now Father Zantus."

Father Zantus
"I declare the Swallow Festival Underway!"

These is a full bazaar as well as several games the PCs can take part in. There are games of hide and seek, balancing, tug of war, and of course a drinking contest.

What books does Rise of the Runelords reference? Which bestiaries and guides will I need to play it?
