Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Real life comes first. Thanks for running the game and good luck with the new endeavors.

"Reputable fortune tellers? I'm not sure such a thing exists"

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

"Fortune tellers, fortune tellers....where in the Nine Hells was it I remember seeing one of those around here?" Lysandra mutters to herself, trying to jog her memory.

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

"I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not real fond of moving through areas that I can't see though, so I really didn't have much choice but to stay." Lysandra says plainly.

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Lysandra shrugs. "Been here about a week I suppose. First time seeing the snakey-guys for me."

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Lysandra nods, agreeing with the gnome's statement. "He's got the right of it. We were minding our own business when the snakey-guys showed up. We just happened to be able to do the jobs that the establishment's guards couldn't, and we were just kind enough to do so."

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

"Nothing to do with starting this mess, that's for sure." Lysandra quips. "Any idea why the snakey-folk are here?"

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Ending Bardsong, effects will linger for 2 more rounds.

Hearing Quillin's response, Lysandra can't help but grin, as she shows no intention of dropping her blade.

"And here I thought a simple 'thank you' might be a more appropriate response, seeing as we had to do your jobs for you." she says gesturing toward the downed serpentfolk, before adding, "Or at least he did anyway." nodding toward Tipene.

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Lysandra continues her song while channeling the smallest amount of magic into her blade and stabbing at the serpentfolk with her blade.

"Well it's all for me grog, me jolly jolly grog,
It's all for me beer and tobacco.
For I spent all me tin on the lassies drinking gin,
Far across the western ocean I must wander.

Where is me shirt, me noggin', noggin' shirt,
It's all gone for beer and tobacco,
For the collar is all worn, and the sleeves they are all torn,
And the tail is looking out for better weather."

Rapier: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 1 = 12 (inspire courage)

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Quickly surveying the area, Lysandra feels a bit better about the situation with her blade in her hand. She briefly considers attacking the serpentfolk immediately, but thinks that aiding those against the intruders is the more prudent course of action as she begins to sing.

"And it's all for me grog, me jolly, jolly grog
All for me beer and tobacco
Well I spent all me tin on the lassies drinking gin
Across the western ocean I must wander

Where are me boots, me noggin, noggin boots
they're all gone for beer and tobacco
For the heels they are worn out and the toes are kicked about
And the soles are looking for better weather..."

Start Inspire Courage +1 competence bonus to attacks and damage, +1 morale bonus to saves vs. charm and fear.

Will do.

Trip on Lysandra: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

...Tordek's distraction making him an easy target, while Lysandra from a more stable platform is similarly unable to stop dropping to the floor.

Sea Legs (Ex): At 2nd level, a sea singer gains a +4 bonus on saving throws against air and water effects and effects that would cause the sea singer to slip, trip, or otherwise be knocked prone. He gains a +2 bonus to CMD against grapple, overrun, and trip. This ability replaces well-versed.

Lysandra has a CMD of 17 vs. trip and should be standing still unless you were counting her as flat-footed. I will wait for clarification before posting an action for the round.

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Lysandra continues to fight and shove her way toward Tipene, and perhaps more importantly her weapons.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

"Sounds like there's more of our snake-like friends in here." Lysandra says, pointing in the direction of the hissing noise.

Lysandra then begins to try and make her way toward Tipene in hopes of retrieving her weaponry.

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Lysanda follows Tordek's lead, staying relatively close behind the dwarven druid.

Mostly a Thanksgiving slow-down for my part.

Should be getting better for the most part, but there will be a few days here and there where I may be more silent as it is year-end review time and I have write ups on my direct reports that I need to do over next week or so.

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

"Well, this is certainly odd. What do you think the cause of this fog is?" Lysandra asks the others before calling out, likely in vain, toward Tipene, "You see anything up there?"

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Break even is fine by me.

After having her fill of dice games, Lysandra makes her way over toward the others.

"Having any luck?"

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

"As long as I get 'em back, I don't see a problem with that." Lysandra says, handing over her weaponry.

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

"Oh this should be fun." Lysandra says with no sense of sarcasm as she searches out a dice game.

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

"Looking for work." Lysandra says, brightly.

Remembering this line of work has traditionally been left to men she adds, "And no, not that kind of work either." before any snide comment can be made.

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

"Rat?" Lysandra asks, sounding disgusted. Seeing Tipene head off for the food cart, she follows along. "Peppered fish sounds lovely."

Lysandra raises an eyebrow at Tom's comment and "angrily" says, "The young lady is perfectly capable of taking care of herself."

"That being said, I suppose there is something to be said for safety in numbers. Nice to meet you, Tom. I'm Lysandra."

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

"Well if everyone else is high-tailing it out of here, I'll be damned if I'm gonna wait around for whoever was chasing that guy."

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Lysandra looks on, curious as to what exactly is happening.

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Lysandra's eyes widen at the sight of the dying man. "Wha-what in the Nine Hells was that all about?"

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

"Local? No. I'm originally from Almas, but have been bouncing around port to port for a while now." she says with a smile before taking another drink of her ale.

"I'm Lysandra, by the way. Nice to meet you, Quillin."

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

"Jali's perfectly well behaved." the woman says with a bright smile. "Well, most of the time anyway." she adds, her smile shifting into more of a smirk.

"The dark's a good choice. Full flavored, not overly hoppy." she says raising her mug.

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

A dark-haired woman with a pleasant expression on her face and a small monkey on her shoulder sits at the bar, enjoying a dark ale and a bit of lunch.

After the comment about the parrot, she says in a affable tone. "He said something similar to me about Jali here."

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Lysandra, Jali ever-present on her shoulder, wanders around the market district of Freport ultimately settling down for a mid-day meal and perhaps a drink or two in (insert preferablly the same random tavern).

Thanks for the selection!

DM VoV:
Lysandra, during her different travels, found herself ported at Bloodcove. Walking through the market district while eating a bag of figs, Jali leaped on to Lysandra's shoulder, startling the young woman. Regaining her composure, after discovering it was nothing more than a hungry monkey, she handed the monkey one of the figs and Jali has been with her ever since.

Jali is a brown pale-fronted capuchin.

Talomyr checking back in. Lysandra is pretty much ready to go, with the possible exception of any minor background tweaks that may occur should Jesse Heinig submits something that would have some background pieces in common with her.

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Hearing Sevien's comment, Lysandra mutters to herself, "You know damned well, that's what the bastard wants...." before diving in.

Lysandra works away, scrubing the deck of the ship while making idle conversation with Giffer Tibbs.

Profession (Sailor): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Constitution: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Feeling a bit of fatigue crawl into her bones as she works the sails, Lysandra begins to sing a sea shanty in an attempt to help herself and those near her get through the strenuous labor.

Sea Shanty:
Sea Shanty: A sea singer learns to counter seasickness and exhaustion during long sea voyages. Each round of a sea shanty, he makes a Perform skill check. Allies within 30 feet (including the sea singer) may use his Perform check in place of a saving throw against becoming exhausted, fatigued, nauseated, or sickened; if already under such an effect, a new save is allowed each round of the sea shanty, using the bard’s Perform check for the save. A sea shanty has no effect on instantaneous effects or effects that do not allow saves.

Lysandra goes about her work, knowing that she sure as hell doesn't want any more of the lash today, and being with Jape again chooses not to anger the half-orc further.

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Lysandra is barely able to contain her expression of disgust as she heads down toward the bilges with Jape.

"Sounds like we 'drew' the short straw today, eh?" she says to Jaundiced Jape.

Once down in the bilges, Lysandra does her best to get to know the surley half-orc.

"So how long have you been part of the crew, and if I may ask were did you volunteer or were you volun-told?"

Lysandra smiles at the Xantrius and says, "You know damn well that rat stew is too good for that bastard."

Female Taldane Human Bard (Sea Singer) 3

Survival DC10: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

During her day trying to catch rats, Lysandra tries to befriend Cog while they work.
