About Lyonard

Rik'kard Rilynghym is the second son of Dekkar Rilynghym, second son of the House Matriarch and General of the Sentinels, the group of archers, scouts, and even druids dedicated to the defense of the House. Dekkar is the one making sure their most secret and private chambers are well-guarded with traps and deceptions, but also the one choosing the path in case of movings of some important member of the House, for his vast knowledge of the tunnels and caves around Menzoberranzan and their perils.
Having grown with such a father, Rik'kard was raised with the best training he could receive, and proved extremely skilled and gifted. But, unexpectedly, Rik'kard showed little to no interest in the guarding and the protection of the House, instead favoring the thrill and the excitement of hunt. During adolescence, it wasn't rare him disappearing for a few days, just to come back with the carcass of some wild animal and a decent number of wounds all over his body (sometimes only with the latter).
His father proved unable to stop this behavior of his, so he imposed just this one rule on Rik'kard: he was free to hunt whenever he wished, as long as the objects of his hunt were enemies of the drows. Rik'kard did please his father, when, coming back from his following hunt, he showed as a trophy the corpse of a young surface elf.
Dekkar, then, decided to award the young hunter: Rik'kard was led to a cavern he never saw, through a series of passages and tunnels he never noticed in his wanders. When they came back, Rik'kard was accompanied by a sort of lizard, which became his loyal companion.
As years passed, Rik'kard never stopped hunting, ranging from elves to goblins, but grew a little more mature and responsible: he came to value his family and his House, and their interests in the drow society. He came to spend a little more time with his siblings, and even got involved in some game of politics and power, discovering some astonishing similarities in the behavior and habits of his kindred and those of surface elves and thus taking advantages of the tricks he learned while hunting.
