Lunal groans out a vague response to Shaedeen from inside the room, but otherwise gives little indication of much else.
Lunal sleeps in late, even for how late they got back, and wakes up grumpily. It's nearing dinner time when they get out of bed. But Lunal doesn't leave the room, just ordering some wine and staying in, door shut, otherwise completely silent from the outside world.
Lunal has an 'aha!' moment and rummages in their pack. "Wait...I can have one, but that's it. Can't promise it will do enough to take them down."
Lunal folds their arms. "I've got nothing left. You'll be fighting without me."
"Feather fall, my he...it's a spell, can make people fall safely. It's pretty much all I have left in my reservoir today." Lunal says quietly, seemingly embarrassed at their outburst earlier.
"Seriously, let him drop. I got it covered."
Lunal whips around with an annoyed expression, but then shakes their head and switches to a mixture of concern and guilt. They move over to the cliff to make sure the entire drop is visible to them. "Drax, throw him off if you have to." Lunal looks dead serious.
"To burn the place down, is that wasn't perfectly clear!!" Lunal shouts, gesturing wildly. "Try to curse ME? To spellblight ME?!? We'll just see about that!!" Lunal starts getting another spell ready...
Lunal comes back more angry than before, burnt of magic but snatching the torch from Krovek to continue trying.
"My magical reserves are almost entirely exhausted. If we run into something I've got one more good spell in me, and then that's it." Lunal warns as the rats disperse.
Lunal holds their stomach against the rats. They carefully assess the layout of their allies, and two glowing hands come up. "Valignatir cha'sidic!" A cone of fire erupts out!
Lunal jumps up on the table, trying to gain distance from the others so the incoming rat swarm doesn't catch everybody.
Lunal enters the room and stays in the back, scanning for magic.
"Hollie, what is it? Hollie!?" Lunal cries out with a blend of concern and frustration.
"It was a very smart move to follow her vengeance, but we ended up skipping much of this building. There are secrets to uncover. Let us continue, we can burn it down once we're done with it all."
Lunal inspects the pick for a moment from a safe distance then stores it along with everything else. "Upstairs than."
Lunal lets the others known about the magical pickaxe, letting them sweep the room for danger before going to grab it and store it along with all the other things Lunal has stored away. "I'm getting a bad feeling about this mold, it's only getting worse."
Lunal moves forward and says a very unfamiliar incantation. "Valignatir cha'sidic!" Instead of lighting, fire erupts out, just barely missing the rest of the party as it goes above their heads and fries the ghoul bat!
Lunal moves into the room and lets fly a loose bit of electricity while they assess the creature. The jolt goes wide as they make sure Hollie isn't in the way of the magic.
Lunal tries some lightning as well, for good measure, but fully expects it to fail. "Why not dig up the entire rock that it's left on and put it inside a sealed glass jar? It may still be alive but it's not going anywhere." They suggest.
Lunal has already squirreled away the remains from the box. "I need to study it in a more secure location where I have more time. I'll ask for help if I need it." Lunal waves their hand dismissively.
"There's a lot of items to identify here. Grab this, this...that, this..." Lunal points a bunch of items. Aldern's armor, rings, mask, weapon, the paper, what is left from the destroyed box. "We'll take them with us, I'll identify and sort through it all later. Let's get out of this rotting hellhole." Lunal frowns and turns, stowing all of those items away. "And there's something under that fungus over there." Lunal goes over to investigate it.
Lunal throws an irritated look at Drax, but shakes their head and wipes it away. They step back down to the ground and with an annoyed flick dismisses the ball of lighting. Lunal looks at where Cator indicates the box. "It's moving inside of there too." Lunal's eyes quickly scour the paper and their mouth twists to a scowl. "Only another pawn. Xanesha...mistress of the Seven. We have more vengeance to pursue." Lunal's aura hums with energy again and they begin examining the magic items.
Spellcraft Rolls:
"We should open that box, see precisely what we're dealing with. Be prepared for anything."
Lunal continues burning through their arcane energy at an alarming rate, throwing the cloud back onto the corrupted nobleman!
”Guys…I don’t know what is going on…”
Lunal's eyes are pure white, sparking with electricity. They sneer down at Hollie. "He just said he would murder us. Your hesitancy is weakness. Finish him!" The last words are distorted into a thunderous boom, and a new ball of electricity appears!
Lunal tries to shove through the crowd keeping their vision from Aldern. "Ahhh!" They cry out in frustration. Lunal grabs one wrist with the other, and a jolt runs up the arm. A moment later Lunal floats a hair off the ground.
Lunal follows with brows lowered, but does take a brief moment to check the room to the west of them.
Lunal moves further into the room, sneering down at the ghoul that fell. With another dramatic gesture the flickering ball of lighting that remains continues on its ruinous path.
Lunal raises both arms, using them like puppet strings, a maestro of storms as the two different thunderclouds dance around!
Lunal brings down the thundercloud on the ghoul attacking them!
Then with a sharp flick and the similar incantation barked out, Lunal summons a second cloud of electricity on the furthest away ghoul!
Lunal raises the electric cloud into the air so it doesn't risk striking any allies, continuing to move forward.
Lunal waits for the others to go ahead, then continues moving forward, directing the electric cloud.
With a wrist flick Lunal directs the ball of electricity to chase after the one it had already hurt.
Then Lunal moves forward, trusting that the onslaught from the others would take care of the gouls, eyes set towards the west chamber.
To all of my games: As predicted with the holidays coming up, my posting will become sporadic until the new year rolls around. I will still be checking in at infrequent times, but I cannot commit to checking daily. Please ping me on Discord if a response is needed, or GMPC me as necessary.
Lunal's brows furrow in rage at the ghouls impeding their path. "Shochraos kaden!" Lunal's signature lightning crackles forth and zaps at the furthest ghoul!
Lunal initially reacts with alarm, stepping back with crackling hands, but upon seeing Shae dropped to the ground and released they frown. "We knew haunts were a danger in here. Get up, we need to keep following her." Lunal says coldly, turning away.
Lunal walks down on the air, wind rushing about them, face set fiercely as they follow the undead.
"No!" Lunal shouts as Krovek draws his axe. "If you destroy what she is fixated on she will attack!"
"The stain likely had something to do with how she was wronged. We could try to cover it with a carpet or something, but we would need to lift her to do that, and she might consider that an attack. Open to ideas here." Even in their fury Lunal was calculating.
Could still use feedback from my fellow party members on languages and spells to pick up, even if it's just some raw opinions.
Lunal follows her with all haste, brows lowered.
Lunal stands firm against the shriek, but steps to the side as the woman begins to storm out. But not before leaning in as she passes. "Good." With a hard look in her eye, Lunal follows.
"Let vengeance take its course." Lunal says with a fierce expression.
"If it succeeds than justice is served. If it doesn't then we will finish the job for it. And we just have to keep everybody else out of her way." Lunal says with furrowed brows. "But fine, let's explore the rest of the place first. Once we free her we may not get the chance to."
"Yes...let her have her vengeance, and it will deliver justice to her murderer and allow her rest at the same time. Two birds with one hell-bent undead." Lunal says, brow furrowing. Lunal takes a sharp inhale through their nose, then strides quickly over to the door, moving to open it and approach the revenant.
Lunal shakes their head in frustration. "No, wait! I'm..." Lunal breathes out with exasperation, standing up. "If we break her line of sight with the mirror we can end her fixation without causing her to attack us. And then she will go towards her murderer. We may need to intervene if she gets fixated on something else, but as long as we don't attack her or anything she's fixated with we should be fine."
