About Luffy Alustava

Backstory:

When he was younger, Luffy was picked on as a child, as his oddly long arms were present even at birth. This didn't last long, as it was soon found Luffy would often punch back-- often losing himself in a tantrum until all of the other children were on the ground. When they'd try to move, he's drop them again. As he got older, as he lived near one of the few wooded areas of Qadira, he got work as a craftsmen. His long-arms and tall body gaining him efficiency in his work building homes.

Until his childhood anger resurfaced during a dispute about the quality of a completed contract. The quarrel eventually led to Luffy losing his mind, strangling the client-- this led him to spent a few nights in the local jail, where they got the story straight. While he lost money in the trial and time in prison, he at least won his case on the contract job. He didn't know however, at the time there was a man by the name of Sajan Gadadvara who was there searching for leads on a missing person.

He soon found Sajan a helpful friend, and offered to help him train himself; to get a better control so that he might not lose himself to anger. As a result it... half-worked. He still felt the anger, but when he let himself succumb to it, he was in control. In a way you'd need to be to deal with clients. Soon, though, Luffy found a whole new world through Sajan, and went with him to Absalom-- there he encountered the Pathfinder Society, an organization which devoted itself to geological research and recovery of historical artifacts. There he trained with Sajan, adventured with many other strangers of the society as a member of its ranks, learned countless new skills, and soon forgot his old life building houses for stingy clients. Every new opportunity, Luffy would jump at it; after all, going with the flow of life has led him to an eventful life so far!

It was a few years later that Luffy learned of a one-way trip, wherein there was the opportunity to be sponsored by the city to field the way to a wild land, the land of Arcadia. He jumped at this opportunity, once again going with the flow of life. He left behind his obligations to the society, and unfortunately Sajan, who stayed behind to continue his search for his sister-- after farewells Luffy left for Arcadia. His training never stopped though, for en route he met another well-trained monk. They sparred, and soon became friends through it, her name was Sajni. She looked kind of like Sajan... weird how the world works sometimes, right?

Sajni was apparently fleeing from a life of of military servitude, belonging to a group of fighting women known as the sastra padaprajna. The group had apparently been signed over to another master as a concession to avoid a major defeat in a battle. She was like Luffy in her outlook on life and its obligations-- though his own were more to the word of society whereas hers were of tradition. Of particular note, is how she trained him in the art of flipping your enemy, suggesting that with his long arms he might be good at it. Essentially, it started with removing your foe's feet from under them, and using their own energy to throw them into another area.

Description:

Luffy is a tall and lanky, tan-skinned man with short-medium dark hair commonly covered by a hat to shield his eyes from the sun. The most remarkable feature about him is his unnaturally long arms, compounded by his height; at rest his palms reach down to just below his knees. Those who know Luffy understand him to be well-to-do but find that for him, respecting the written contract to be more important than general goodness. For example, a slave's freedom matters less than the means by which he was acquired and the region's laws.
