Hey, Lucendar! Glad to hear you're doing ok, or at least doing. :) I'm still here if everyone else is willing to continue.

Likewise. :)

Sounds good to me! None of it is halfling-sized and Nick can't carry much more anyway. :)

Nick sniffs the air and proceeds inside, eyes alert for traps or other mischief as he matches pace with Zedna.

Nick's initiative total is 20.

Nick finishes his charge and stabs at the sentry with his starknife. His breath is a little labored, but his eyes are bright and determined.

starknife attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12 If that counts as a charge, +2 to his attack and -2 AC
piercing damage: 1d3 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

I guess I was thinking because it was dark, we would have concealment to creep up on him. But of course, he's got darkvision!

Nick looks at Zedna to make sure she is ready, and once she confirms he gives the signal and runs toward the sentry ready to fight.

Assuming we have a surprise round, Nick uses his action to move towards the guard, closing the distance between them by 30 feet.

Yeah, I'm all right but stuck at home. Going a bit stir crazy but nothing very bad yet. It could be much worse!

Hey Lucendar, was the blonde-haired woman you described Zedna, or somebody else? I thought it was Zedna on first read, but on second look I wondered if it was an NPC that we haven't been introduced to yet?

Nick shrugs amiably. He understood the sorcerer's position, and truth be told he had more sympathy than usual for the poor sentry who was not necessarily the instigator of this whole thing. However, he also knew that if they pulled their punches and missed, everyone inside would be alerted to their attack. He pondered this as he stealthily followed Zedna to their position.

Stealth check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

"Sounds good to me, Z," Nick drawls, pulling his cloak a little tighter around him to hide the glow of the stars reflecting off of his skin. He had somewhat self-consciously begun referring to the others in the Blitzkreig unit by nicknames, in an effort to feel closer to his comrades-in-arms. Not for the first time, he reflects on how different they all were, even though they all had an inexplicably celestial background. The heavens move in mysterious ways, he thinks. But that's what makes it fun, right!

Nick couldn't believe his luck! Credit where credit was due, it was probably because of his patron goddess, and he murmured a quick prayer of thanks to her as he prepared to leave her chapel for the forseeable future. He was finally going to be a Crusader! Farod would be so proud, he thought, and then self-consciously remembered his father, still sitting in prison for petty crimes against the people of Kenabres. He would not be proud of him, he knew. He shook off that feeling of anxiety and doubt, putting off that uncomfortable meeting until someday in the future.

The present

Had it really only been a month? Nick chuckled to himself, remembering. How quickly their little squad had come together! Zedna, the scrappy singer who could punch like a brick; Lotho, the simple and practical paladin of Erastil; the mysteriously tranquil Krayn, who wielded strange arcane powers of fire and the sun; and himself, a humble halfling with a special heirloom weapon trying not to get killed. He looked up at the stars and smiled. This will make a great story, he thought.

Jarred out of his reverie, he brushes himself off and quickly follows Zedna with the others. It was easier for him to be quiet, for he was half the size of everyone else, and he peered over the rise to examine the hobgoblin sentry. "Think we can take him without raising the alarm?" he whispered to the group. "We might catch the other guards inside unawares, which will make the fight a little easier, but I don't think we'll be able to keep Jozra from knowing we're here once we start the melee."

A bonus to Reflex is pretty appropriate for Nick, but I think a bonus to Dexterity would more obviously represent his celestial heritage. I’m thinking he glows with a blue and purple aura whenever the stars are visible overhead.

Luck don't fail me now! Aasimar Ability: 1d100 ⇒ 56

Clearly Desna wants you to roll it for me, GM! :D I'll take whatever you come up with.

Thanks for the format, makes thing easier. Yes, you can change feats, traits, etc. By the way, Nick, you have Combat Stamina and I don't really play with that optional rule.

Whoops! I didn't realize you weren't using it, sorry! I should have asked. I removed it from my sheet. :)

With regard to SLAs, what I am thinking, is that if you decide to roll on the table, you do so when instructed by me (to avoid the previewing the roll issue) and then you decide whether you want the roll or you want me to roll. If you choose the latter, you then take my roll no matter what. There has to be some risk involved. :)

If everyone else is rolling, I'll go along with it in the spirit of shared risk.

I've set up my profile to give all the useful information. :)

Lucendar, would it be all right if I switch my campaign trait to Touched By Divinity instead? My background works with it just as well, and I'd rather not overlap with Zedna too much if we can avoid it.

For the special aasimar alternative race traits, do we have to commit to using them before we roll? Or can we roll and then decide if we'd rather keep our existing SLAs?

Thanks GM! I’ll get to work formatting. Looking forward to the campaign and getting to know you all!

(Chaotic) Good luck to everyone! I hope you find a good group with a fun mix of personalities and abilities, Lucendar!

This is eriktd-- Here's the alias I'm using for my submission. I believe it's done; all the details are in the profile!

Nick is a Halfling Musetouched Weapon Master Fighter with the Stolen Fury Trait. Born a lowly commoner with otherworldly blood, his angelic nature remained dormant until Desna answered his prayer and rescued him from a terrifying demonic ritual. Now a devout follower of the Lady, he seeks to unlock the secrets of wielding the blessed starknife that she gifted him, and with her divine guidance destroy the awful forces of the Worldwound that threaten Kenabres, Mendev, and all Golarion.

Question for GM:
How do you feel about the Unlearned trait? Is it enough of a drawback, do you think?

This is eriktd's character, the halfling paladin devotee of Shelyn and Devoted Muse. All the questions and stats are in this character's profile.

Name: Seannon Starfall, or just "Shawn" to his friends

Background: As a child (then called Seannon Talltallow), Seannon was born into service on a wealthy Chelish aristocrat's plantation, one of the many halflings kept by the rural nobility as slaves. With the help of a visiting priest of Desna that secretly belonged to the Bellflower network, he was lucky enough to escape to Kintargo, where he eventually found work at a dwarven tanner's shop. His employer has never seen the brand of ownership on his chest, but Seannon suspects that the old leatherworker would look the other way if he ever did. Still, Seannon fears that his presence will bring the authorities down upon them, and for his employer's sake the last twenty years he has tried to avoid drawing attention to himself.

The halfling is impulsive and hates injustice, however, and more and more often he finds himself bristling at the draconian rules the civic authorities have imposed. Not that Seannon is outspoken about his faith, but he has devoutly followed the Lady of Dreams ever since her spokesperson rescued him, and the recent outlawing of Desna's worship particularly rankled him. He began attending secret revolutionary meetings with other halflings and demihumans in the neighborhood, all of them masked so as not to be recognized if caught. Together they have been practicing fighting, as it seems likely it will soon come to that. Another halfling who joined their band claimed to represent a revolutionary group called the Silver Ravens, which intrigued Seannon. He refrained from asking about it, but listened carefully whenever they were mentioned.

As of last week it appears this halfling representative has gone missing. Feeling a sense of forboding, Seannon began asking around, even looking up a few old contacts from the Bellflower network. If he was really concerned and wanted to help his friend, they told him, he should go to the Aria Park protest and look for a human wearing one black leather glove on his right hand. This man would help him find the Silver Ravens. Seannon was not sure what to do, and privately decided to leave it alone-- but somehow on the day of the protest he found himself donning his mask and walking to the park anyway. (Meeting a Contact)

Personality: Seannon tries to be low-key and not make noise, but it is his nature to rebel. His friends and neighbors look to him for support and listen to what he says. In private, he does not mince words about his dislike of Thrune's takeover and his approval of the actions of the Glorious Reclamation. When wearing his mask he feels larger than life, and becomes almost like a folk hero with his witty banter and ability to lead others.

Roles: Striker (melee and ranged fighter), Face (Bluff, Diplomacy)

Seannon cursed himself and his impetuousness. This is the park, he thought. "What am I doing here?" he muttered aloud. Involuntarily, the thought sprung into his head, the words from the meeting: To Rebellion! To Liberation! To the future!
