Lucille is shocked to see Delmar climb to her position. She starts to protest that there is no room and that she needs to be paying attention when the man breaks into his monologue.

She had seen men whipped numerous times - her father often used that as motivation for his unruly sailors, so she wasn't overly bothered by the treatment. When she was about to voice her opinion, Delmar continued.

When he's finished, Lucille doesn't know what to say, so she just mumbles, "Oh. Yes. That's...something." She then expects him to head back down.

When he doesn't, she shrugs, grabs her spyglass and turns back towards the ships heading.

"Gods! I'm a fool," she curses loudly. She turns and yells down to the deck:

"Land Ho!"

Hmm...the evil snicker makes me want to stay on the sidelines...

I apologize for the lack of posting. I've been busy, but also have very little to contribute. That shall change as needed. Feel free to rope me in as you see fit, though.

Delmar, be prepared that if you do confess, Lucille isn't the most tactful. You may not like what you hear. :)

Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28

Sorry I'm late!

Lucille spots the ship behind them and calls down to let the crew know.

Lucille turns her eyes towards the sky and tries to see what everyone is pointing at.

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14

Unfortunately, she can't see what everyone is getting so excited about.

Time: Day Two, Noon

Seeing the captain climb the rigging, Lucille stows her daggers and pulls out her personal spyglass. When asked how things are going, she affirms that all is well. As soon as he leaves, she pulls the daggers back out and continues to play with them.

Time: Dinner

Lucille joins the crew for the first time that day. She sits at a table with one of the other female crew members and introduces herself. You can let me know who she meets.

She doesn't engage in much conversation, choosing instead to eat quietly while those around her shared bawdy stories. She laughs loudly at the captain's joke, but other than that remains mostly silent.

When given her pint of ale, she downs it in a single swig, instantly regretting her decision. She had forgotten that she would be limited to one a day.

Lucille, surprised to see the captain scale the netting and come to see her in the nest, nods that all is well and tries to think of something clever or intelligent to say. She is unsuccessful.

Lucille, obviously thrilled to be underway, heads straight for the Crow's Nest, where she settles in with her spyglass. When not looking out across the water, she can be seen absentmindedly juggling her daggers.

Lucille's face remains passive until the captain mentions "riches" and "spoils." She nods solemnly before saying, "It is good I am on board. I eagerly await your orders to ship out."

"I am at ease," she says, embarrassed by the amount of attention that is being paid to her by the captain. "But...I have to ask...where are we sailing and what is our aim?"

"Oh no...you misunderstand me," Lucille says quickly. She stammers on, 'I...I thought we would...perhaps...get...acquire...more merchant wares. Somehow. But perhaps not."

Lucille thinks this she's joined onto a pirate vessel.

Lucille looks over the list, noting in particular the quantity of ale and daggers. She looks at the captain and gives a curt nod. "I suppose we will fill our hold with merchant wares at...a later time," she says, a barely perceptible glint of sarcasm in her eyes.

Lucille burns with embarrassment when the captain calls her out for her poor shopping. She immediately heads back to the market to secure the additional needs.

Lucille's brow furrows. "You? Our doctor? How'd you get that job?" Realizing that might be construed as a rude question, quickly adds, "I'm sure your healing - infernal or divine - will be appreciated." Realizing that too could be rude, just nods and walks away without awaiting a response.

Yay - two 8 Charisma characters on one crew!

Lucille, done with her task, makes her way to the ship and stows her gear. Walking by Rodrigo, she nods slightly, and says, "Hello. I am Lucille - lookout for the Paradiso. Are you a passenger aboard this vessel?"

Lucille moves to the contract and signs it with a flourish. She is quiet, as has been her habit of late, but she smiles broadly - she is clearly pleased with the opportunity this voyage provides for her.

I'll update my character with a little higher Perception. I should have an updated sheet posted shortly.

EDIT: Sheet is updated. I know have +12 Perception and a Spyglass. There has never been a better lookout. Ever.

"My eyes are keen. I accept the post," Lucille says simply.

Should I make any adjustments to my character - namely boosting Wisdom to boost perception? Or is lookout more of an honorary role which can be role played rather than dice rolled? Thanks for including me!

Lucille should be good to go, apart from spending all my cash. Can't wait to see who gets picked.

A young woman walks through the doors of the tavern. "I was told there'd be work for a master at arms aboard a fine vessel. Was I told truly?"

This character was made for another application, so I'd need to update her stats and such if selected.

I'd like to throw Lucille Bluth into the mix, as well. She didn't apply to the previous thread, but was developed for a RL game that never got off the ground.

Background:

Lucille is the daughter of the infamous buccaneer, George "Pop Pop" Bluth. Unfortunately for him - and subsequently Lucille - that infamy was not earned for being fearsome. Rather, it was for being a bumbling fool, incapable of plundering even the tamest of merchant vessels without serious mishap.

One such mishap occurred when Lucille was 16. It was the first time her father allowed her on board his latest vessel - The Seaward. He was working with a meager crew - as only the most desperate would sign on with "Pop Pop" - and so the work was spread quite thin. Lucille loved the work, however, and did everything as well or better than the rest of the crew.

While she was manning the crow's nest, she spotted a vessel approaching from their stern. She called down to her father, who was overseeing the swabbing of the deck, and he immediately ran to the rear of the ship to discover they were being pursued by Sargavan officials.

"Pop Pop," in an effort to rally his troops, fired his customary two pistol shots into the air (hence hisnickname, "Pop Pop"). Unfortunately, in his haste to reload the second cartridge, he didn't pack it correctly and the gun backfired, completely removing his face and ending his life. The Sargavan officials quickly overtook the ship, removed the distraught Lucille from her father's side and threw her in the sick bay.

Upon returning to Sargava, Lucille managed to escape the officials - who had no intention of keeping her locked up, any way - and found passage aboard a privateer's ship. She honed her abilities and swore that she would redeem the "Bluth" name.
