Male Half-Orc Skald 1
Hey guys, I got the PM with the links and whatnot. I really could go either way with the build, I thought I would throw them both out there and see which one you guys like better: Lothar Lotharian, Skald:
Half-orc Skald (Totemic Skald) (Bear)
Lothar grew up in Rostland. While life there wasn't perfect, he knows that it could have been much worse if he'd had the misfortune to be a half-orc in a different kingdom. As a result he is a fervent patriot, both out of personal gratitude and because he believes that Brevoy's tolerant attitude toward all races is simply superior. Like many young men, Lothar grew up wanting to learn how to fight. Rather than seek out formal instruction in the Aldori dueling schools, however, he spent much of his adolescence traveling with the barbarian tribes of Numeria. There he learned how to handle himself in combat. He also discovered his penchant for showmanship, a talent that eventually led the tribe to instruct him in the ways of their warrior-poets. Lothar is interested in joining the expedition because he believes that preserving a balance between Rostland and Issia is the best way to avoid civil war. He also believes that the expedition will also lead to a stronger Brevoy. If it gives him a chance to establish fame and fortune in his own right, well, he's certainly not going to turn it down. Lothariel, Witch:
Elf Witch
Lothariel never fit in among his own people, in large part due to his fascination with sleep. He studied the subject of sleep and dreams for years, often to the exclusion of what other elves considered more useful fields of endeavor. When he did turn his attention to magical studies, he was intrigued by the wild magic of witches and shamans and attempted to discover the source of their power instead of pursuing the more structured arcane power wielded by wizards. He traveled to Brevoy in part to escape the constant criticism of his peers. He also sought out information about the elvish ruins of the Stolen Lands, believing that elves who lived in close contact with the First World might have had an attachment to wild magic that mirrors his own. He found a welcoming home among the people of Restov, but is eager to join the expedition to seek out the lost knowledge hidden in the wilderness. STR: 7

I'll roll with whichever one you guys would prefer to play with. Are we shooting for any particular Friday to get started?
Hey guys, I'm interested in joining up. I can make the Friday time no problem. Am I reading right that the build rules here are 20-point buy, core races, 3 traits (1 campaign)? Also, do you guys have a strong feeling as to what you need in a fourth party member? It doesn't look like you have a skill monkey, but OTOH I don't know how often that really comes up in a campaign built around taming a wilderness area. I'm kind of leaning towards something in the witch/shaman/skald/bard area. I have this urge to play a guy with a rocking beard. The witch and the shaman offer prehensile hair, while the skald and bard would be more metal. I'd also be cool with going Oradin if you all wanted another front liner and healer. My role model for high STR, high CHA, and low INT role playing is Zapp Brannigan, just to give you a heads up. |
