Hershel Werner

I am having to do a hard thing. The hardest thing to do as a gamer I think. I am having to cut the number of games I am in.

We recently had a tragic death befall the family, on top of an already expected loss. Add to that the youngest having to go back in for a surgery in a few weeks and I will not ha ve the time I need for all the games I am in.

Thank you all for the time we have spent together, and happy gaming.

Hershel Werner

Hershel is only motivated by money in this. So as far as he sees it, he can get the money by tossing the beast head to the lady and saying problem solved. As a player, I am betting these guys killed our employer and I bet either thulgrim or the lady employer had something to do with it... maybe both.

Hershel Werner

"Right, your friend is deader than a door nail. Your footwear looks suspicious. I'm thinking there is something going on here, possibly having to do with the death of the man-boy who employed us until recently. Truth is, I don't care at this point. I'm going to bring back the things head and throw it to our lady employer and get my pay. You all can do with these two what you wish."

Hershel, while having a suspicion of what has happened, honestly does not care if these men had a hand in the death of the man who hired them. He is here for the pay and nothing more at this point. The others may have more noble ideals and he couldn't just leave without giving them his suspicions though. Just wouldn't be sporting.

Hershel Werner

45: 1d100 ⇒ 4

Hershel listens to the spokesman for the group as he moves to check on the man who didn't get up.

Hershel Werner

Parry
44: 1d100 ⇒ 68 Using a fate.
44: 1d100 ⇒ 30

Hershel attempts to parry and find some kind of riposte within this chaotic battle.

Attack
44: 1d100 ⇒ 24

Hershel Werner

Well, might as well try. Hershel on 40

Hershel charges out, screaming his bloody head off in order to gain the beasts attention and divert it away from the running men. "Taal guide my arm this day"

Hershel lunges forward and attempts to stab his foe in the heart.
44: 1d100 ⇒ 13 4SL Damage=11

Hershel Werner

39: 1d100 ⇒ 63 Well, guess I am taking a fatigue.

Hershel Werner

"Yep, this has ambush all over it... be on guard my fellows."

Stealth:29: 1d100 ⇒ 19

Hershel Werner

40: 1d199 ⇒ 20 3 degrees success if it matters.

Hershel looks down at the tracks they have found, wondering what manner of beast left them there. Sword in hand, he readies himself for anything.

Hershel Werner

If no one is better set for it, Hershel will grab one of the hand weapons.

"Well, let's hope this bugger can't do the same to a well armed party as it has done to our late benefactor. Might as well get to it."

Hershel Werner

1d100 ⇒ 20 beats the hard test boss.

"Might as well..."

Hershel Werner

Hershel is happy for the meal and the company.

Once Thulgrim approaches. "Guess we got to find him aye. On it I guess."

With that nonplussed statement he heads out to look. Might as well put his tracking to the test.

Hershel Werner

"No complaints here. Let's be off with the meals then."

Hershel Werner

Hershel watches as the dwarf moves to take the groups hard dug find.

"And this is why you shouldn't do more than you are being paid to do. Never worth it, aye master Thulgrim? Or are ya going to make it worth their while? I mean, they went through all the trouble after all. Say a 50% finders fee, incentivize such initiative after all."

44: 1d100 ⇒ 43 Hope there isn't a difficulty penalty on that one.

Hershel Werner

Hershell is more than done with digging, but he waits to see what the others are doing.

Hershel Werner

"Well, we got paid for a job and we did it. Now on to the next."

Hershel Werner

"Shilling for some rocks, not the worst deal I have ever heard."

Hershel Werner

35: 1d100 ⇒ 66

Hershel wakes, looks at his flask, and decides he needs a better class of booze.

Hershel Werner

30: 1d100 ⇒ 52 Spending fortune.
30: 1d100 ⇒ 25

"Well, I would suggest you pay us and then I am sure we will happily deal with any issues you may have dear lady. Show us you will follow through with the coin and we will follow through with the strong backs."

Hershel Werner

Perception
25: 1d100 ⇒ 79 Spending a fortune. When do we plan on refilling these?
1d100 ⇒ 6

Hershel keeps his own council, waiting to hear Stiegler's answer.

Hershel Werner

"Well, we tried. Guess this mess just keeps getting deeper. Anywhere I can get a drink at least?" Hershel seems a little less caring about the whole ordeal, seeing it as more of a bump in his journey.

Hershel Werner

35: 1d100 ⇒ 98

Hershel Werner

44: 1d100 ⇒ 54

Hershel seems to be busy drying out.

Hershel Werner

Hershel laughs at the suggestion of modesty made by Alex. "I would not expect you to risk the flux for a bit of modesty lass, I hope that you would not wish the same on me. But, if your eyes are afraid of the male form, I will gladly take my leave behind the crates. Just hope they don't need moving while I dry out."

Hershel Werner

"Taal takes back what is needed. The wood will feed the worms and the soil eventually." Hershel starts to take off his wet clothing in an attempt to get ahead of the chill setting in.

Hershel Werner

Hard walking back towards the ship, Hershel thanks whatever god helped him hold the beast for as long as he did.

Hershel Werner

Ok, as I understand it the fish and I are in stalemate, an I correct?

Hershel Werner

Grapple:40: 1d100 ⇒ 70 Spending a fortune on a reroll...
Grapple:40: 1d100 ⇒ 60 You know what, I am not letting this end this way. I'm taking the corruption point.
Grapple:40: 1d100 ⇒ 7 Well... someone listened.

Hershel grabs at the fish with all the strength he can muster...

Hershel Werner

Yeah, that was the second and 3rd editions.

Hershel Werner

Trappings in higher ranks are for when you can purchase a higher level out the gate due to exp from retiring a character or dooming death. Also effects your ability to convince people you are whichever career you are.

Hershel Werner

Dodge:29: 1d100 ⇒ 2

Hershel deftly moves his head out of the way of the gnashing fish, nose narrowly escaping by inches.

Hershel Werner

Or, you guys could slaughter the beast, I would really like that.

Hershel Werner

On the plus side, if I die the thing has scale and teeth... And, if it kills me it should be fed and leave the boat alone... it is a good death I guess.

Hershel Werner

Hershel watches as the fish surges forward, placing himself in the path to save a woman he did not even know... how did he get here? What was he even thinking? Well, nothing for it now.

30: 1d100 ⇒ 56 Yeah, that grapple check is an absolute fail...

Hershel Werner

"Taal give me strength." He says in an exasperated tone as he slogs towards the old woman. Bloody minded determination and not the least amount of annoyance carry the man forward.

Just going to walk out to the old woman, grabbing the rope Alex tossed as he walks by if possible.

Hershel Werner

34: 1d100 ⇒ 30

Hershel curses under his breath as he gauges the water. He thinks for but a second before jumping in to try and save the old bag.

I'm guessing the water is shallow enough for me to walk out in the water if we are hitting rocks. What would I need to roll against? Roll follows, if I am wrong then Hershel has just added himself to the need to save group.

1d100 ⇒ 12

Hershel Werner

Initiative of 40

Hershel Werner

Got ahold of Rorek, he will have a character up in a day or two.

Hershel Werner

Up to you boss, you could always get ahold of the gent who last voiced interest.

Hershel Werner

Hershel rolls his eyes at the mention of beasts in the swamps. Crazy old women should be ignored whenever possible.

Hershel Werner

"Well, guess I can mop." Hershel busied himself with cleaning while picking up where he left off in song. Someone has to keep of cheer on this dank boat, even if that cheer comes from a pull on the flask.

Hershel Werner

The +20 goes on to the number you need to roll under. So, I have a fellowship of 44, a sing of 2 so 46. Now if I am doing a stupidly easy challenge +40 I add that to my 46 so I have to roll under an 86 now.

Hershel Werner

Hershel cuts his singing and looks the man up and down. "Aye. What need you?"

Hershel Werner

very

Hershel Werner

Well... can't see a pink ork in the open, but the boy sure can sing. That is 5 successes for an average challenge in case anyone cared to know.

Hershel Werner

Entertain (sing) 46: 1d100 ⇒ 13
Preception 45: 1d100 ⇒ 73

Hershel begins to sing an old Reiksland tune about rivers that flow forever from the mountains to the sea as he walks to the prow of the ship to scan the distance for trouble.

Hershel Werner

Hershel eyes Rutger as he speaks. The way he is trying to ingratiate himself rubs the caretaker the wrong way, but coin is coin.

Hershel Werner

Dooming: Scales and teeth is what I see in your smoke boy. Morr will come for you with scales and teeth. Just another victim to add to a long list of prey stretching over years longer than you have walked this land.

Vague enough, could be a dragon, or an orc wearing scalemail... we can make it fit a lot of circumstances if it comes up.

Hershel Werner

Hershel leans against the old timber of the rotting ship, sipping at a small flask barely looks up as their employer begins his spiel. "Hershel, and as long as you pay me I will be your eyes."

Hershel Werner

Profile is ready. Just needs to know what his doom is.
