It's the downside of using "Copy + Paste". Sure, it saves the designers time and effort but the customers get a slipshod product.

I made an Oath Bound (Loyalty) Paladin who's closing in on 20th level. Since the arch-type replaces smite evil, how would Holy Champion work? Suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm preparing to run a Jade Regent campaign and while reading up on the NPCs, I noticed that Sandru has a +2 shield bonus to his AC. However, Rogues are not proficient with any shields and Swashbucklers gain no additional proficiencies other than a single martial weapon (Scimitar).

I can't figure out how Sandru uses a shield based on his feats, abilities, etc... without incurring the attack penalty.

Anyone know?
