Bad touch is for life.

Mr Gorbacz. Please show me on the dolly where the naughty TOZ touched you...

Male Human Monk 3

Growling as he misses the Gnoll, Lord swings once more at the creature as it attempts to drop Jackie down the hole. The shambling gait of the encumbered Gnoll throws off his attacks once more and his face begins to form into a scowl.

Flurry of Blows with Masterwork Kama: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Male Human Monk 3

Lord walks swiftly over to Jackie and swings his Kama at the Gnoll attempting to grapple the helpless halfling. Unfortunately the Gnoll chooses that moment to shift his weight and the swing sails harmlessly past it's mangy fur.

Attack Gnoll with Masterwork Kama: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Male Human Monk 3

Oh sorry, I didn't realize we were at a new round. My bad

Growling with frustration, Lord picks up his fallen Kama and then walks outside the structure, to see if he can somehow stealthily get up onto the roof with the Gnolls.

If he can climb up, he'll put away his Kama and climb up behind the Gnolls. Stealth Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Male Human Monk 3

Lord looks up at the hole and drops one of his Kama, reaching into one of the sacks tied to his legs and drawing out a Tanglefoot Bag. He lines up the hole and throws the bag upwards at the edge, hoping to gum up the entrance.

Throw Tanglefoot Bag at the edge of the hole in the roof (Ranged Touch Attack): 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 5 - 2 = 5
*sigh* Of course... Who did I hit? :/

Male Human Monk 3

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Tarren. How high is the hole in the ceiling? Is it possible to throw a Tanglefoot bag at the edge of it to attempt to gum up that entry?

Male Human Monk 3

I thought we were up in the Bell Chamber, hiding until they came in? If not, where are we exactly?

I think I'd accept a bluff check or a linguistics check to convince the gnolls that another gnoll was making the noise. You've certainly had enough contact with the gnolls to give it a shot.

lol Bluff -2... yeah, not gonna happen from my end 'o things. ;)

Male Human Monk 3

Lord looks down a t Jackie and shrugs. "I can't say that I've ever had reason to try... I don't know maybe just whimper like a dog?"

Male Human Monk 3

"I'll be waiting until they get inside here before I close ranks behind them and cut off their escape from our slaughter of those lawless dogs," Lord says as he grips both his Kama tightly.

Male Human Monk 3

Lord looks around at the burning bodies and smiles.
"Should we go back to the bell tower and wait for them to send up a party to see what happened first? That way we could take out some more of them before they become too suspicious and send up a whole bunch. Of course, they could just send a whole bunch to start with..."

Male Human Monk 3

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Attack Gnoll with Masterwork Kama: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Guess I'll be waiting to see what the Flaming Gnolls do before having my 1st Round Attack... :(

Male Human Monk 3
Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:
Can you do a flurry in the surprise round? Isn't a flurry a full round attack?

Yes it is and no he can't.

Or rather no he can't and yes it is. :)

Male Human Monk 3

Lord takes the flask with a grin and on three he hurls it at the tent.

Throw Alchemist's Fire at Tent (Ranged Touch Attack): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Fire Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Male Human Monk 3

Lord's eyes geta glint in them when he cottons on to Tallis' plan, but then the glint goes when he ralizes that he has no oil.
"We could toss in a couple of Tanglefoot bags and then just set the tent on fire normally?" Lord whispers.

Male Human Monk 3

Lord follows Tallis towards the tent, prepared to dispatch some Gnolls.

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
We shouldn't need another Stealth Check yet should we?

Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:
It would have been more impressive if you could sneak up on someone who was awake.

Heeey. Stop tryin' ta burst my bubble. :)

Lord creeps up to the edge of the camp, Kama(s) in hand and ready to go at a signal from Tallis or Jackie.

Woo Hoo! In your face other Human! :D

Sorry I'm just so excited I made a Stealth Check and better than you guys. ;)

Male Human Monk 3

Dare I even attempt it...

Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Woo Hoo! In your face Halfling! :D

Male Human Monk 3

Seeing the Gnoll's movements near the Bell Tower, Lord make his assessment to the group the next morning.
"What do you think the chances are of them spotting us taking out one of those Patrols up here by that Tent? I mean we could take one out and carry the bodies back here and dump them down the hole. We do trhat a couple of times and their numbers will thin a little. At the very least it may get them curious or frigtened of the Bell Tower and make a couple of them investigate, in which case we can take a few more out. What do you think?" he looks around the group with the air of someone who is expecting everyone to agree with his brilliant plan.

Male Human Monk 3
Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:
Also, you could take away anything long from Bandle.

lmao :D

Lord sees Jackie looking at the bell and watches his trying to remove the clapper. He turns and looks at Bandle with a murderous look in his eyes. "If you even so much as look like you are attempting to ring that bell, I will throw you down hole and see how well you bounce off the floor below, is that understood?" He finishes his point by making like he is grabbing something and dropping it through the hole in the floor.
To the others, he turns and says, "so we camp here for the night and make notes of their night movements. Hopefully we'll see something that will be to our advantage. Is that right?"

Tallis Kotellos wrote:
So, tomorrow Bandle and Jakie go spy on the gnolls, while me and Flash guard the tower? Sounds good to me.

+1

Somehow after everything that's happened so far I can't see Lord Flash wanting to be all sneaky and stuff... ;)

hmmm... maybe Tallis and I can arm ourselves with Tanglefoot bags and take out some more nasties to pass the time. :D

Male Human Monk 3

Lord looks at the littel Gnome, his mouth wide at the sudden serious turn. He finally manages to close it and adds, "killing the leaders might work in the short term, but chances are they'll be back. Let's just kill them all and be done with it. We could try and pick them off a couple at a time rather than taking on the whole camp at once. Don't ask me how, I just come up with the ideas, I don't do the logistics of said plans..."

Male Human Monk 3

Climb Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Shrugging off his previous lack of dexterity, Lord nimbly ascends the rope and arrives with a questioning look on his face. "What was that that just passed me on it's way to a painful death?" he says as he looks around the new chamber.

Male Human Monk 3
Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:

Climb check Lord Flash.

As soon as Tallis clears the hole, the two red eyes bob up and down, circling the bell tower. Tallis can make out the shape of a head and two batlike wings extending on either side. A many tentacled mouth opens wide letting out a horrific shriek.

DC 12 Fort save for everyone please.

Climb Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Fortitude Check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Male Human Monk 3

Looking quickly down his nose at the excitable Gnome, Lord grabs the rope behind Jackie, not wanting to be the last one up the rope and most certainly not wanting to be underneath Bandle...

Male Human Monk 3
Tallis Kotellos wrote:
"Bandle, if you open another of those tombs, I don't care what's inside, I'm shoving you in it."

Lord gets an excited look on his face, possibly the first you've ever seen from him. "Oh please let me do it. It would make my year."

Male Human Monk 3

Smiling at the creature's misfortune at being trapped and flush from his connecting strike, Lord unleashes a Flurry upon it, hoping to bring it down before it can escape from it's bonds.

Flurry of Blows with Masterwork Kama: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 131d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 61d6 ⇒ 1

Male Human Monk 3

Lord smiles cruelly as he sees the thing stuck in the entrance, like a fly caught in a spider's web.
He moves forward, drawing his second Kama as he goes and brings one of them down in a chop that nicks the creature's arm.

Attack Esttag Dunn of the Twelve Appendages with Masterwork Kama: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Male Human Monk 3

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Lord looks up as Bandle cracks the seal and the Ossuary's inhabitant claws his way out. He sighs and shhots the annoying Gnome a withering stare before pulling a small wrapped bag from the sack on his belt and throwing it towards the Ossuary opening.

Pull out a Tanglefoot Bag and throw it at the creature in the opening (Ranged Touch Attack): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

Male Human Monk 3

Lord looks at the little Gnome and sighs. "I suppose this might take his mind off being annoying for a while."
He bends down and pulls out a Kama, using it to slice into the Gnoll Priestess' neck and severs her head from her body. He tosses the head over at Bandle's feet. There you go. Enjoy your victory little one.

Male Human Monk 3

Wonders to himself what the kook... er general back at the fort might pay for Bandle's head delivered to him and smiles again to himself

Male Human Monk 3

"A trophy celebrating our victory over a worthy opponent. I have heard that the Gnoll Priestesses of Lamashtu can be tough opponents on occasion."
He joins Jackie to rumage through the potions and sort them according to their various colours and consistencies. Without looking up from his work he calls to Bandle, "maybe I should flay the skin from it's skull and you can wear the beasts face as a victory helm little one." He smiles cruelly, although noone but Jackie can probably see it.

Male Human Monk 3

Sorry about that guys. The last few weeks at work have been not good for my free time. I have been posting on the Boards, but I let this PbP (and Tarren's other one) get away from me and haven't been able to get caught up until now.
Thanks for hanging in there Tarren. It seems you do a better job of running Lord Flash than I do! Maybe I should stay away more often? :)

Tarren:
I'm really sorry Tarren. Really Really Really Sorry! I'm caught up with this one now and I'll catch up with Tomb of the Emperor Gods tomorrow on my day off, then I'll be back and ready to resume play as normal again. Once again I am Really Really Really Sorry!

Tallis Kotellos wrote:
"Good, you're awake. Help me search her, will you?" Tallis begins to rummage through the gnoll's possessions.

Lord shakes his head to clear away the cobwebs and tries to roll the Gnoll off him with Tallis' help. He scowls at the other Monk's quip and says, "asleep! I do belive I'm the one who carried the rest of you through that battle."

He then pulls two potions from his backpack and quaffs them both down, a little colour returning to his face as he does so. Rising to his feet, he then bends over and helps Tallis rummage through the dead Gnoll's belongings.

Male Human Monk 3

Lord pointedly ignores Jackie's comment about his prowess in sneaking.
He looks over at Tallis, then to where he has indicated. "Yes, that sounds like a good idea. The cave is the most likely source of entry to the place."

Male Human Monk 3

Looking up the walls Lord whispers loudly, "does anyone see any kind of opening? We could use this gear to attempt a climb if there is a possible entrance higher up."

Male Human Monk 3

Here goes nothing...
Stealth Check. (1d20+3=4) *sigh*
Perception Check. (1d20+9=14) I am really starting to think that IC is actually a <10 Random Number Generator rather than an Infinate Random Number Generator...

Male Human Monk 3
Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:
Getting to the tower will involve some sneaking. It is on the northeast side of the gnoll encampment. You are on the southeast side. You could sneak between the abandoned village and the gnoll encampment but you would need to be very sneaky. You could try to cut through the abandoned village ... you haven't seen any gnolls there.

hmmm... sneaky... Actually let's do it now while IC is down and my dice at home are rolling in the low to mid teens for me so I at least have a mild chance of not waking up every Gnoll within a 10 km radius...

Lord looks up from his seated position once Jackie returns with the assessment of the area.
"This tower does bear some investigation, I will agree with you there. I would like to take the route that leads us within earshot of as little Gnolls as possible though."

Male Human Monk 3
Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:
A slightly easier climb along the rock sideways takes you in the direction of the gnoll encampment.

Probably not easier by Lord's standards if IC has anything to say about it... :(

Lord awakens and stretches lazily. Sleeping outdoors does not agree with him. A pallet bed may not be the most comfortable thing in the world, but at least it was a bed and indoors.
He takes stock of their position and waits fro Tallis to awaken before commencing a discussion about how to proceed. He considers telling the annoying Gnome where to insert his whistle, but thinks that the ensuing answer from the Gnome is not worth it and so he sits down to centre himself.

Lord Flash, I'm going to need two successful DC 15 swim checks as the river is fast moving. Every check you fail makes it more likely you'll be separated from the others.

Swim Checks. (1d20=20, 1d20=3, 1d20=15, 1d20=12, 1d20=8, 1d20=12, 1d20=5, 1d20=11, 1d20=16, 1d20=4) Lucky I made it on the third roll, otherwise 8 failed Checks later I would have been at the Gnoll Camp without them...

Male Human Monk 3

Climb Checks. (1d20+4+2=9, 1d20+4+2=13, 1d20+4+2=13) *sigh* was that outcome ever in doubt for a second...

Lord begins to laughat Tallis and Jackie's misfortune, only to himself succumb to the slippery shoreline and plunge into the water. He tries to climb back out, only to fall back in.
Swim Check. (1d20=9)
He can barely even manage to keep his head above the water as he bobs his way along the waterline.

Thoroughly soaked, as are most of the others, Lord is in no mood to continue their journey tonight. The soggy clothes he are wearing are more than likely to slow down any combat reaction he may need and that is not something he is willing to tolerate.

Gotta keep my post count up... don't want Solnes to get in any more trouble ;)

Male Human Monk 3

"Yes... it seems that maybe we should continue on and leave them behind."
Lord moves off after Jackie, oblivious to the fact that he was just insulted yet again...

Male Human Monk 3

Lord amssages his ankle as they reach the bottom, then looks back up towards where they came from.
"I wouldn't mind seeing what it is those Gnolls are so concerned about. Can anyone see up there?"
He looks downriver. "Or should we just head off towards the Gnoll camp?"

Male Human Monk 3

Climb Check. (1d20+4+2=11) Looks like Flash will be taking a bit of a tumble... :(
Perception Check. (1d20+9=11) You have seriously got to be sh!tting me...

Lord's trek down to the riverside is fraught with loose footing and too much concentration on keeping it to pay much attention to his surroundings.

Male Human Monk 3

Lord sneers and takes a menacing step towards the annoying little Gnome, before realizing that it would be a fruitless pursuit to even attempt to shut him up, no matter how much fun it would be in the trying.

Male Human Monk 3

Lord looks towards the river. "I would think that following the river would be a better plan as it would leave less room to get lost, something that with my limited outdoor skills I would be prone to do. However the ridge would probably afford us better cover. I don't know what to do, what do the rest of you think?"

Male Human Monk 3

Lord pauses over the body of his fallen opponent for a second before hearing the horn and raising his head to look up the trail.
"This could turn bad very quickly. I suggest we eiter hide and try another ambush or attempt to flee as fast as we can. It sounds like this time they will have superior numbers on their side."

Male Human Monk 3

Flurry of Blows with Masterwork Kama. (1d20+7=16, 1d20+7=25)
Damage. (1d6=6, 1d6=4)

Finally Lord connects with the Gnoll, opening up vicious wounds with his Kama.

Male Human Monk 3

Initiative. (1d20+3=13)

Realizing that once again he has alerted the Gnolls to their presence, he launches himself at them with a great desire to right his wrong...
Attack Gnoll with Masterwork Kama. (1d20+6=10)
Unfortunately in his haste to attack, he overcompensates and missses the Gnoll entirely.
