Christian watches with a mix of emotions. Amazement and horror at what the creature has become.
It is over then. Quickly we need to find the survivors.
This is where I normally would say search for loot...but...lol

I forgot to add in the Inspire Courage bonuses. So, this round would be AC 23 for 21 damage and AC 26 for 28 damage.

Christian laughs a bit and spits blood out on the floor...just as the Cenna's magical words come from her mouth.
Smile for the fire...
The flames engulf them and dissipate as quickly as they came.
...ball

The mercenary lord rolls his legs under him and jumps to his feet with incredible speed. His blade moving at the same time in hopes of catching the winter wolf off balance.
Swift action to stand...no AoO

Christian smiles some more as his gambit pays off.
Goto be quicker than that.

Hmm tsk tsk. Now you would not be trying to be all sneaky like there Mr. Wolf. Bad form, bad form indeed
1st attack against the wolf that has flanking with the winter wolf:yellow
Attack1 Flanking: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 12 + 2 = 26
Damage1 PS: 1d10 + 3 + 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 3 + (5) + 7 = 16
If it goes down, I will switch my second attack onto the Winter Wolf
Attack2 Challenge: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 12 + 2 = 32
Damage2 Challenge, PS: 1d10 + 3 + 7 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 7 + 7 = 22

I just made a post for a new DM.
We shall see what we can get.

The curse of the PBP has struck again.
We are searching for a new DM.

Our last DM was great however life has its way of making things difficult.
I do believe that we have all players still here just need a DM to take over the game.

We are in search of a new DM to take over this game that has spanned over six years.

Thank you for your time
Jovich

Christian nods his head as the attack comes in. Adjusting his stance and moves into the attack from the winter wolf.
As an Immediate Action I will spend a point of panache and use Dodging Panache. This will give me a 25 AC. I am not sure if this will negate the trip attack or not. Depending on if it is granted after hitting the opponent or if it is a free attack. This would provoke AoO from the other wolves. IF it will not negate the trip [ attack I will suck it up and do nothing.

Shaking his head.
I guess it is winter wolf rug time then. It is a shame really; I had high hopes for you to redeem yourself. Oh well, I tried. Now bring your mangy ass over here so I can end this.

He looks at the others before he moves forward.
Work together flank the creature and strike as one. Try to use the environment to our advantage.

Issue challenge on the winter wolf as a free action for +2 to attack winter wolf. Teamwork Feat: Precise strike for the party as a standard action for +1d6 Damage when flanking and then a move action.

Male HP:72/72 AC:20 T:15 FF:14 F:+6 R:+5 W:+4 Perc:+11 Init:+5 Bastard Sword +12, 1d10+3 CMB:+10 CMD:+20 Human Cavalier 7 (Daring Champion)

Christian smile gets even bigger.
Exaggeration...maybe...maybe not. Now you disagree with my statement, but can you truly take that risk.
He adjusts his grip on his weapon as he prepares for his words to fail.
Fewer words and fewer claims...maybe but...deep down inside your gut you are asking yourself...
Bluff: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29
He seems to keep on smiling.
Which of my many statements was a lie...which was an exaggeration and which one was the truth. It could be any or none or maybe one or two...

He chuckles.
There it is...I see it on your face. Doubt.
Does he have an army? Does he have powerful mages? Does he have engineers capable of sealing off these tunnels? Can his mages ward off those tunnels? Is he an illusion? Did he run with ArgentLupe? Is smoked wolf really a delicacy in the Mammoth Lands?

Fewer words allow you to get to the point, but it also allows your enemies to focus on that target. Now then are you willing to risk your hide on anyone of those...exaggerations? Quite the dilemma.

Let me see if I can cause some confusion before they attack.

Hmmm. Prostrate oneself before you or food for your pack.
He takes a slow breath, his face briefly showing trepidation before the expression quickly fades.

I prefer option three: we take the caravan survivors out of here and let you live to see another day.

The lord raises a hand to silence the creature before finishing his words.
Yes, I know what you’re thinking—we can’t stop you. You’re too much for us pathetic two-legged creatures. Blah, blah, blah... I’ve heard it all before and yet I am still here.
Bluff: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29
but I digress...
He turns to his companions.
Umm where was I...
Ah yes...
He turns back to the winter wolf.
My offer to you.
Leave.
You and your pack leave. Go anywhere as long as it is many months walk from here. I do not care where you go. As long as I never see you again.

He smiles big and wide.
Here’s the deal: you stay put while we collect all the survivors and the items you’ve gathered. We’ll leave, and you’ll stay alive. Show any aggression, and we’ll take the survivors and go. My engineers have found and sealed every exit, even the ones you didn’t know about. My mages have set glyphs at the entrances that will trigger multiple fire spells. Maybe you’re immune to magical fire, but you still need air. These tunnels don’t hold much, and when the fire burns it up and the smoke rolls in… it’ll be a slow, painful way to go. I hear smoked wolf is a delicacy in the Mammoth Lands.
His hand extends his pointer finger and shakes it back and forth
Now then, before you consider attacking, it’s only fair to let you know that I’m not actually here—just an illusion, while my men escort the survivors to safety. I do love powerful mages; they come in handy more often than you might imagine. They can mimic sight, sound and even smell.
He chuckles at his own words.
So, do we have an understanding, or does this have to end in bloodshed? Let me be clear: I have powerful mages—yes, plural—and my army is stationed right outside this place of yours. You’re trapped in here, and I’m ready to smoke you out if I don’t get what I want. In return, you’ll leave my lands and all of the River Kingdoms behind for your own safety. If you should return, I will know and it will be the death of you.

He stands there looking at the wolf.
I think you should take the deal. I used to run with ArgentLupe, so I’ve got a soft spot for wolves and would really hate to harm them. I’d much rather avoid that, if you don’t mind.

I’m trying to bluff my way out of combat, even though he’s eager for a fight. If they do attack, I’m hoping they’ll second-guess themselves and get a bit confused, giving us some tactical advantage at the start. LOL… Here’s hoping my bluff works.

Fresh blood....I think they went this way.
He points towards the path going away from the water.

Survival: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
or +11 if using perception

They had to choose a direction. Look for scuff marks on the floor, fur along the walls, or the scent of urine to indicate a path. A water source could also mark their location, as water is scarce underground.

I would love to see less enemies, but I think we do not have the time to spare. The longer we take the less time any survivors have. Wolves are known to attack prey from multiple directions at once. Inside that cave may nullify that advantage. I say we move in right now.

His anger is still there but it has been tempered but the trip to the cave.
I will admit this right now, I am angry at what we have here. Those children did not deserve this. That being said, I do not expect anyone here to place any sort of honor in jeopardy to fulfill this mission.
While I still feel no quarter shall be given, I also understand that our first priority is to the survivors. Therefore, if we are in danger of being overrun, grab the survivors and retreat out to the entrance. Create a kill pocket at the entrance and blast the shit out of them as they come out but for now put them down and move forward to our objective...the survivors. If anyone gets the chance to put the Alpha down, do so.

Male HP:72/72 AC:20 T:15 FF:14 F:+6 R:+5 W:+4 Perc:+11 Init:+5 Bastard Sword +12, 1d10+3 CMB:+10 CMD:+20 Human Cavalier 7 (Daring Champion)

Christian bows to Mizuchi.

Cenna has the right of it. Pick your targets wisely. We are here to save who we can. I am assuming that the winter wolf is the Alpha of the pack and if we take him down first it could create some confusion or uncertainty. This may allow us to destroy all of them.

Male HP:72/72 AC:20 T:15 FF:14 F:+6 R:+5 W:+4 Perc:+11 Init:+5 Bastard Sword +12, 1d10+3 CMB:+10 CMD:+20 Human Cavalier 7 (Daring Champion)

Christian gives Yamato a grateful nod before making his way toward the mighty dragon.
Thank you, Mizuchi. May the gods bless you and the children, I’m confident they’ll be well looked after.
He bows slowly and deeply.

As the mercenary turns toward the wolves’ lair, the familiar look of anger creeps back onto his face.
Get ready, we’re going after that pack. The rules of engagement are straightforward—no mercy will be shown. Attacks on civilians are unacceptable, and targeting children without provocation is beyond forgiveness.

Male HP:72/72 AC:20 T:15 FF:14 F:+6 R:+5 W:+4 Perc:+11 Init:+5 Bastard Sword +12, 1d10+3 CMB:+10 CMD:+20 Human Cavalier 7 (Daring Champion)

Elara, you should not have had to go through this. I am sorry for what you encountered. Our first priority is yours and Kayden's safety. Then we can go and deal with these creatures.

How on earth can we ensure the kids’ safety and rescue the others—if there’s even anyone left to save? We’re completely in the dark, but walking away would guarantee there are no survivors.

He keeps a firm hold on her shoulder, yet his voice remains gentle and comforting.
You and Kayden managed to keep your cool in an incredibly stressful situation, and that alone is truly impressive.
Impressive indeed.

Christian turned to the others, a determined look on his face.
We don’t know much, but it’s enough to come up with a plan. My top priority is keeping Kayden and Elara safe, followed closely by wiping out these creatures.

Male HP:72/72 AC:20 T:15 FF:14 F:+6 R:+5 W:+4 Perc:+11 Init:+5 Bastard Sword +12, 1d10+3 CMB:+10 CMD:+20 Human Cavalier 7 (Daring Champion)

Looking up at Elaina, offering her a silent thank you.
Christian recalls when his mother would hold him close whenever he was scared. That memory comes to life as he pulls the boy into a warm, protective embrace against his chest.
You’re safe, and we’ll see you to Charis, but first we need to handle whatever happened to the merchants and, I assume, your aunt. What can you tell us about the attackers?

He returns Kayden to Elara's care and stands up with a soft hand on her head and a reassuring smile.
We’ll get you to your father. Rest and regain your strength. I’m going to talk to my companions and will be just over there. We’ll keep an eye on you both, so there’s no need to fear.

He looks to the others and steps aside to talk
It seems young Kayden had the unfortunate experience of being enslaved. These parts don’t take kindly to slavery, and it’s one of the few things that unite the River Kingdoms. I’ve heard of slavers pursuing those they claim as theirs into the region, but it rarely ends well for them. Those who try are usually powerful enough to handle themselves and more. It would be wise to learn what we can about him, not only to protect him better but also to safeguard the citizens.

Male HP:72/72 AC:20 T:15 FF:14 F:+6 R:+5 W:+4 Perc:+11 Init:+5 Bastard Sword +12, 1d10+3 CMB:+10 CMD:+20 Human Cavalier 7 (Daring Champion)

Christian moves slowly and gently hold the boy in his arms, pushing down the anger simmering just beneath the surface. He keeps the sister right next to him.
How can the world be so cruel? What kind of evil exists in these lands that would harm children and a family?

He glances at the others, careful to keep his face hidden from the sister. The rage is obvious, unmasked, burning in his eyes. But as he turns to face her, his expression shifts, melting into a calm and composed facade.
We will do what we can for him.

The hardened mercenary shows an unexpected tenderness as he cradles the child in his arms. Reaching into the pouch at his side, he pulls out a small vial, lifting it to the child's mouth and gently pouring the liquid over his lips.
Using a potion of cure moderate wounds...the only one I have.

Looking up at the sister, Christian smiles at her.
This healing potion, I hope, will work its magic and help the boy recover.

What’s his name, and what’s yours? If you’re comfortable, could you share what happened?

Male HP:72/72 AC:20 T:15 FF:14 F:+6 R:+5 W:+4 Perc:+11 Init:+5 Bastard Sword +12, 1d10+3 CMB:+10 CMD:+20 Human Cavalier 7 (Daring Champion)

Christian kneels to keep the sun out of her eyes.
It’s alright. I’m Christian, and these are my friends Cenna, Nem, Elaina, Yamato, and Mizuchi. The boy is hurt, so let us heal him. We can help you, and together we can help the others.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19

Glancing in both directions, Christian’s face reflects concern over making any decision. He lets his breath out in a slow exhale.
We don’t have enough people to manage both tasks simultaneously.
He nods at Nem.
Even in the best of circumstances, I’d be reluctant to divide my forces.

He again looks to both directions.
Gods, forgive me if I’m mistaken.
I’ll take the lead, Nem, you stay right behind me. Take charge and guide us to the children—they’re our first priority to rescue. They rest follow up behind us.

He looks around at the others.
Does anyone have an issue with that?

Christian looks over the wreckage with a calm expression, his face revealing nothing. Yet, there’s a slight edge of anger in his voice as he speaks.
Looks like some survivors managed to escape. If we can find them, we might learn more about what happened here. We’ll need to stay alert, since they probably aren’t expecting help and might hide from us. Hopefully, we find them soon—time isn’t on our side.

He glances at the dragon, lowering his gaze in a gesture of respect. His voice shifts to one of honor, and as his eyes rise again, they meet Yamato’s.
Lord Saito, might Lady Mizuchi consider me worthy of a request? If she is inclined to grant it, would she be willing to take to the skies and see what she might see?

Christian lets his eyes wander from Charis to the smoke and then back again.
We ride toward the smoke but keep up a brisk pace. Don’t wear out your horses—if this turns out to be a trap, we’ll need their strength to get away.

He steers his horse toward the rising smoke and starts making his way forward.
If anyone can give us an overview of what we’re dealing with, I’d really appreciate it.

It appears that we do have some detail that point us in the next direction on this path. Harrow, I thank you for what you were able to...share with us. I would be open to seeing you here again in the future.

Male HP:72/72 AC:20 T:15 FF:14 F:+6 R:+5 W:+4 Perc:+11 Init:+5 Bastard Sword +12, 1d10+3 CMB:+10 CMD:+20 Human Cavalier 7 (Daring Champion)

How can I ask the question I want without giving away too many details? I know there will come a time when I have to reveal my intentions, but until then, I want to be cautious.

Christian strokes the stubble on his chin.
You remain neutral. Not taking one side or the other. Just watching and waiting.

He nods his understanding.
Harrow, I hope my next questions are what you expect and not a waste of time. Since you didn’t send the wayward gnome after us, I’m led to believe Rhoswen is responsible. So, what’s her endgame? Why does she want to trap us in the First World?

You know many tales and secrets beyond the reach of mere mortals—no, beyond the reach of the average being. That’s better. There’s a great mystery in these parts, one told in taverns far and wide. Early in the year 4699, House Rogarvia vanished overnight. If you know the truth, then tell us: why did they vanish, and where did they go?
Christian looks on as his mind wonders about his personal thoughts.
Listen to him...if an opening comes take it if not...patience.

Christian keeps his composure and listens carefully at the responses.
He is good. He knows a lot about me, and that freaks me out. Lately, more and more of the Fey have been getting tangled up in my business, and I have no idea what we did to catch their attention. Their realm isn’t ours, and as far as I know, we’ve never really crossed paths. Then again, I know next to nothing about the Fey.

He stays alert but keeps his weapon sheathed as he walks up close to the man.
Gaining power and influence always comes with a price. I’m not sure why Her Majesty Queen Rhoswen would be affected by our actions, but I’m no expert on the Fey. As for a follower of the Moon, that’s outside my knowledge as well.

He maintains a stance that's as conversational as it is defensive. Walking and talking as he stands beside the man.
He holds power and isn’t intimidated by the situation. It’s a parley, not a fight. Still, I need the others to help gather more information about this person.
When it comes to those fields, I leave the talking to those who know about them.
A slightly subtle way of asking for help without revealing your location, I hope at least.

Christian casually walks out of the structure and into the opening.
Perform: Oratory: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17
I’m hoping my performance will give me a bonus to my bluff, but if that doesn’t work, then this roll will count as my bluff roll.
His voice is pleasant and holds a certain level of cockiness to it. His stance is light as he is prepared for combat to erupt at any moment.
Good evening, lovely night. Before you think about getting all aggressive and causing a scene, know that the moment you try to use any magic, you’ll be finished. Now that I have your attention, we have a few questions. You’re free to refuse, as I can’t force you to answer, but I must admit, talking to the dead does get a bit tiresome. So, shall we talk or do we need to do this the boring way?
Bluff: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28

His hands are empty, but he’s confident he can step forward and draw his weapon quickly enough to interrupt the start of the spell.

I am planning to talk.
"be nice until it's time to not be nice"
We hide and wait to see what we are dealing with.
Step out and talk/gather information and see where that leaves us. I do expect it to end in some form of combat.

So prepare for diplomacy but expect combat.
lol

I moved Christian into the building. I am assuming it is like a doorway?

My appolgies for the confusion and I must have missed the no on the optional rule. Sorry

That would change my score for ledership.
This is how I calculated it and if you say otherwise let me know.

Level: +7
Charisma Score: +5
Feat: Dynasty Founder: +3 (Because I already have the leadership feat)

This was per the original DM. He gave me all of the bonuses.
I am not wanting to argue over it, you as our DM said no so I will remove them. No worries and I understand your reasoning on them.
-Great renown +2 (I considered this for Christian the Mercenary, but I can remove it if you deem it not enough)
-Fairness and generosity +1 (I like to think he is fair and generous)
-Special power +1
-stronghold +2 (I consider our little town as such)
-Leadership optional rule +1
for a total of +6 +3 from bonuses
For a total of 22 18 on the leadership score.

This is something I may have messed up on as I may be reading different rules than others???
Per the d20pfsrd: Ruler
"If you have the Leadership feat, the bonus from the feat applies to all kingdom attributes you affect."
This would +6 +3.
Which is +5(Cha), +1 Natural Ruler Feat, +6 +3 leadership/Ruler =+12+9

Natural Ruler Feat: Additionally, the entire kingdom gains +2 Stability for as long as you occupy a leadership role.

Christian looks at the buildings around them and the terrain as well.

Perhaps we should pick a spot that allows us to see in all directions and check for magical traps and spells that would warn our Fey of our arrival. We prepare cold camp and get a feel for the terrain and how to utilize it to our benefit.

I have the leadership feat with a score of 22
-Level: 7
-Ability Score Mod: 5
-Dynasty Founder: 3
-Leadership role Skill: 1
-Great renown +2*
-Fairness and generosity +1*
-Special power +1*
-Has a stronghold, base of operations, guild house, etc. +2*
A bonus per the 1st GM of +6* which I think adds to my Kingdom Attribute Score: A total of +12???
I am correct in this or not?

Leadership Role Skill: Knowledge (Nobility)
For every 5 full ranks in the relevant skill, the leader increases the leadership modifier an additional 1.
I have 7 ranks for a +1 to my score.

Call it 3

Christian looks at the map as she points out the locations.
The distance is great. I am not certain we have enough time to make it to the drunken Oak and then back south to the meeting place by the rivers.
