Woot Woot! Well, thats gonna put a monkey in the vasaline of my plans. As my gaming group is looking to start up the game and play through over the next few weeks. When are these coming out? This fall?

Quick question, will the new character decks, be the opposite gender of the decks in the base set? For example, barbarian, cleric, druid, rogue, paladin, and sorcerer are all Females. With the decks have male versions? (And then the same for the Male to female conversion).

It would save me quite a bit of time in photoshop.

Dear Fellow Players,

I would like to give my deepest apologise for my absense from the game. My job took a sudden turn for the worse, and I am only now diggig myself out of things.

That being said, I should have been more comunicative, as a player and I hope I have not impacted your game too much. It appears that you have replaced me as a player, which I completely understand.

Again very sorry for my absense and I hope the game goes fantastically.

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Aroden pats the side of Cloudbiters' neck. "To Air, my old friend".

The white pegasus excitedly paws the ground, and then spreads its white wings. With a super-human leap it launches itself high into the air with a buffeting beating of wings.

Aroden and Cloudbiter take a swift glance twards the town and head off to the town square.

Spoiler:

The pegasus has a move of 120' flying, I know thats a 240'/turn charge rate, I dont know if I can move faster than that or not.

Aroden is readying a Detect Evil spell, so he can identify valid targets. Upon arrival he will land near the conflict and cast it.

Male Gillman Cleric 8

What, if anything does Aroden hear or see? Is i starting to get late or past the time I would expect Bors to return?

Also, I hope those Gnomes are evil bad dudes that your about to turn into Flambe.. They could be refugees trying to find dinner, or defend themselves against intruders.

ooc:

Very sorry! had to drive the family home from the beach. Still here, still very much interested, and will go back to daily (or more) posts.

Lord Aroden sat astride his pegasus listening to Skerrin discuss his plan for scouting.

"I would offer to ride Cloudbiter forward and search the village, but if there is anything there, it would see me. I think stealth first would be a good tactical plan. If we dont find anything with the sorcery, or with Boors scouting then I will do a reconnasance sweep of the village from the air".

Spoiler:

Dang-it, I dont know what AC im shooting at, so my dmg rolls I forgot to add the plus 6 for, so they would be.

Attack 1
1d20 + 13 = (14) + 13 = 27 damage 1d8+6 = 10 plus 2d6 =; (2, 6) = 8 [total dmg 18]
Attack 2
1d20 + 13 = (4) + 13 = 17 damage 1d8+6 = 12 plus 2d6 = (2, 5) = 7 [total dmg 19]
Attack 3
1d20 + 7 = (17) + 7 = 24 damage 1d8+6 = 14 plus 2d6 = (6, 1) = 7 [total dmg 21]

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Aroden runs up next to Agusto. "Its a good thing it hit you in the head my friend, or you might have been hurt!"

Aroden looks at the Ettin. "This one should not be too difficult. 5 gold says I land the killing blow before you."

Spoiler:

As er my pervious post, Aroden held his movement during his last move to move up to the Ettins after their attack. Now on this turn he takes a full round attack.
(With Divine Power)
+13/+13/+7 to hit 1d8+6 dmg

Attack 1
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27 damage 1d8 ⇒ 4 plus 2d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8
Attack 2
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17 damage 1d8 ⇒ 6 plus 2d6 ⇒ (2, 5) = 7
Attack 3
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 damage 1d8 ⇒ 8 plus 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Aroden jumps out of his tent, napkin still tucked into his tabbard. "By the Lady, shall we get no end to the tests placed upon us? At least the Manticores did not smell." He unsheathed his Azlanti sword.

Gripping it tightly he muttered "Iomedae bless this weapon, for I use it with your will in mind". With that he reaches down and picks up his shield.

Spoiler:

I cast "Divine Power" on my longsword.
I switch my varriable feat from the War Domain to Improved Critical-longsword, causing me to crit on a 17-20.

I will hold my movement until the Ettins get closer.

Also My buffs to my armor last 16 hours. So If cast at 7 am, you have to let me know if its past 11pm at night, I am without those bonuses to my AC

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Aroden goes through the same rituals of the night before, setting up a comfortable tent and summoning a tasty feast. The next morning, he rises early for his watch, and prays for his spells, soaking himself in his daily deluge of summoned water.

After breaking camp, he summons Cloudbiter and mounts up.

"Any number of ills could have befallen the town. If there is a creature out here that the Centuars are afraid of, it could well be what destoryed the villgers", says Lord Aroden to Agusto.

"So good sage, while we are riding, tell me", he says to Skerrin. "what do you know of the Gillmen of Absalom?"

Male Gillman Cleric 8

"Thats good", said Lord Aroden giving Boors a friendly pat on the back. "I was worried you were going to prepare that for dinner! I know the meals that Iomedae's servants prvoide can sometimes be a bit odd in their spices, but We need not resort to more.. er.. country cooking."

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Aroden walks over and helps Skerrin up off the ground. "You were brave in combat, friend. Unlike and Sage I have seen before. I thought sages kept in their towers with their books."

He looked over Serrin and saw his wounds had not completely healed. "Here have the Inheritors Blessing"

Spoiler:

I channel one Divine Power into a cure Critical Wounds
4d8 + 8 ⇒ (8, 2, 1, 1) + 8 = 20
And this should have the whole party healed up.

"Should we search around and see if this was the creatures lair? We might find clues from the remains of their earlier victims", said Lord Aroden.

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Aroden watches the retreating Manticore. "Id chase it down, if I didnt feel like a tailor's pincushion", he said dryly.

He dismounts next to the fallen elf, and prays again, letting out another burst of healing energy.

Spoiler:

4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4, 5) = 15 heals for everyone. If were still down, i will use it once more,
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 2) = 15, for my 3rd of 7 healing usages per day.

He looks at the group. "Well, there is a bit of excitement for the day. And it certanly adds a new dimention to what could have happened to the townspeople. Do we wish to keep moving on?"

No Worries. We will see if we can take down the second manticore this round. I wish there were some way to drop these flying creatures. Tanglefoot bag on the wings? I dont think I can target the wings on an attack. If we drop the second manticore, leaveing only one, Ill do another round of healing this round. Hopefully now that we have some flying/ranged offenseive it will get taken out.

Aroden sees the mage fall and circles down to where he lays.

"Press the attack on the wounded Manticore! Leave the Blinded one to battle next!"

He stands up in his sturrips and points his Azlanti blade towards the heavens. "Power of the Inheritor... be upon us all!"

There is a blinding flash from Aroden circling otwards. Any who are touched by the light feel their injuries lessen.

Spoiler:

Not being able to see the I land in the most tacticaly advantagous square, to get everyone within 30".

I then channel positive energy:
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6, 5) = 18
Everyone in 30' takes this amount of healing (including Aroden and the Pegasus) but excluding the manticores (since I have selective channeling as a feat).

Lord Aroden's action?

Aroden coughs up blood as the maticore barb in his ribs sends shooting pain up his side.

"I need to upgrade my Armor", he thought watching the manticoress. He was overjoyed when he saw one drop from the sky.

"Iomedae is with us!", he yells at the wind pointing his Anceint Aslanti blade at the charmed manticore. "Flee or follow the fate of your dead packmate!"

With that he kickes his heels into the side of Cloudbiter and decends in a furious attack.

Spoiler:

Spirited Charge against the Charmed Manticore "B"
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22 to hit.
If Hit (1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 + 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5) x2 damage

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Before we haste on me, I have to do some healing, or Im dead next turn. We really need some offence on these guys, or were gonna get taken down. I could probably kill the wounded one this turn, but that means TWO more attacks from the manticores on me.

If I drop and heal, Ill head 4d6, which would be about 12 points healing for everyone, but id probably take another 20 points of dmg next turn.

SO not sure about what to do. If Agosto drops this first manticore, Ill try and take out a second one. I think instead of hasting me, yopu should instead go ahead with the glitterdust. Blinding one would be great, even if the first fails his will save and goes back to attack you. One blinded, and one down would only leave one to counter attack.

He has not gone yet this round, right? and he is before me?

No worries. Now Aroden knows what it would feel like to have a sexual affair with a Dire Hedgehog. I guess I should call 4chan.

Male Gillman Cleric 8

my AC is 22, I put a +2 buff to my Armor and a +2 to my shield each morning, extended for 16 hours, (which lasts usually till bedtime).

So I see a total of 24 dmg this round. which leaves me at -44 points of dmg (or 12 hp left).

Someone shoot down Manticore C!

Ah, I misunderstood, the normal fly movement of the pegasus is 120 feet! Fast-a$$ horse! By the way, a natural 19 on a longsword threatens, so roll your confirmation, you may crit the manticore! In that case you would do 23+2d8+4d6 damage in total! I am assuming you charge Manticore A, correct?

crit roll:

including the +2 for charging
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
What AC am I trying to hit? Oh, and I was targeting Maticore C, the same one that was shot.

Male Gillman Cleric 8
The_Grinning_DM wrote:
Aroden, if we do the math, the manticores are 146.3' away from you (145' away/20' up), so a charge for 120' does not reach them. You may change your action, if you wish.

You can move up to double distance for a charge, so the Pegasus charge range is actuall 240". If Im charging by foot, I cant unsheath a weapon and double movement charge, but since Im mounted and the mount is moving, i should be able to. I still only get a single attack at the end of a charge, because I have to wait for the mount to get there before I can attack (as per Charge and Mounte Combat rules p201)

Oh! I also get +2 to hit on a charge, did not factor that into my rolls.

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Lord Aroden pulls the manticore spike from his leg with one hand and unsheaths his sword with another.

"To Arms Cloudbiter! Let us show these vile creatures what Justice Sons of Imoedae can deliver!"

Charging Manticore C:

Using Varriable Feat from War Domain = Spirited Charge w/ my Fly By attack.

Pegasus Move 120'. Move 120' to G19

Base Attack
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

Damage (if hits) Sword
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Plus 2d6 Damage Evil Creatures
2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6
Total Doubled for Spirited Charge = 30 points of dmg to C (if hits)

Continue charge to say 60' behind Manticore C and turn around.

Cool?

There will be MANY times to RP dinner with Aroden, as Im going to be casting that spell every night to keep the party fed. So we can certainly do it at another time.

AND! I will let you know that my food is not bland, its quite zesty and exciting. Iomedae was a great cook back when the God Aroden kept her in the Kitchen. (er.. no... really...).

So for combat do we all post our actions in spoiler tags, and then you tell us what happens in initiative order? If I already know what Im going to do, and its not an attack (ie cast a buff spell), do I do that?

Lastly, someone do an ID to figure out what were fighting, someone with Knowledge: Creatures or something.

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Aroden is not the one dimentional "Evil... SMASH" type character. So I think were all good. I will remind people that Evil and Good are much less moral concepts in D&D and more tangible quantifiable items. If you konk those girlscouts over the head and store them in your basement, people will KNOW. Evil Agents will contact you and try and get you to do more, so they can ultimately get your soul. Good priests can "feel" your evil deeds.

As for the feast. I allways keep a "Create Food and Water" memorized. Yeah, it says that it produces a nutritious if somewhat bland food, but really, why not a decent meal? So I took a bit of artistic licence with things, but from a game rules point of view, its all the same thing. Aroden would not travel without at lease one good meal a day.

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Aroden was last to set up his camp, spending the time instead taking care of his mount. He carfully brushed the currycomb down the flanks of the Pegasus. "There you go Cloudbiter, Thank you for your service today. I know you would have prefered to fly. We will do so tomorrow."

The Pegasus turned and nipped playfully at Arodens sleeve.

When he was done brushing the magnificent horse. He stood in front of it and bowed deeply. "Iomedae thanks you for your service", he intoned holding a tiny pegasus figurine, held around his kneck by a silver chain.

The Pegasus whinnied once and then faded into vaopor, swirling around Aroden and then dissapearing.

Job done, Aroden walked past the fire. Though barley dusk, Skerrin was already napping, trying to get some rest before the last watch. Augusto was brewing coffee on the fire, and Bors sat on a rock next to him. Off to one side the shaman Bwana sat on his bedroll and ate something from a small pouch.

"I can also take the first or last watch", said Aroden. "I sleep very little, especially when away from the comforts of home. Fortunately, we dont have to be complete barbarians."

Lord aroden put his backpack on the ground and pulled out of it a contraption of cloth and sticks, that quickly unfolded into a folding camp chair that he placed by the fire. He then pulled out a much, much larger bundle of cloth that unfolded into a very large pavillion style tent, large enough to almost stand in. Its at that time, that his fellow campmates realized there is no way that the eight foot poles of the tent could possibly fit into his backpack.

Once the tent set up, it is quickly filled by a cot, a bedroll, two pillows and a low folding table; all from the same tiny backpack. In less than five minutes where there was only a patch of ground before, now stood a tidy and impressive portable residence.

"I took the liberty of removing any of the Toldan coat of arms from the tent before we left.", said Lord Aroden and he tied back the front flaps, exposing the inside of the cavernous tent to the fire.

Smiling and looking contented he then went in and sat down cross legged by the folding table and produced fromt the backpack a white tablecloth, four large serving bowls, a serving platter, two pitchers, and utinsils.

The table set, he closed his eyes and began to pray. Ten minutes later, the armoma of well cooked food drifted out of the tent.

Aroden smiled and began looking at the now full platters. "Iomedae's servants seems to have blessed us with hot green beans, potatoes, lima beans, a green salad, and a large roast duck."

He picked up the pitchers and sniffed them. "Water and Meade", he said. "Although I apologize before hand, Iomedae's mead is only meade flavored water. It has no kick to it at all. She likes to keep her Knights sharp".

He waves the others in. "Come! Eat!", intones the Taldan noble. "And bring that coffee!"

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Skerrin,

Just a note, a Pegasus has a constant 60' radius detect evil. He is gonna bite your crow in half. Unless.. you cast undetectable alignment on it.

The problem;

Undetectable Alignment is as Bard/Cleric/Paladin spell.

So two choices:

a) Its a Level 1 Bard spell, Perhaps you see if our kind, benevolent (and other sundry brown-nosing adjectives), DM will allow you to have reasearched it as a Level 1 Mage spell.

or

b) A continous magic item is (Spell Level x Caster Level x 2000) / (5/charges per day)

So a Level 1 bard spell, would be (1x1x2000) = 2000, if used once per day (since its a 24 hour per day effect would be 2000/5 or 400 gp.

Yes and the bank is happy to hold and guarantee the safety of your money for a 5% cut of the deposit. The purchase of the horse is fine.

No more purchases for me. Im good to go.

As for how I acomplished what I did in my post, I had been thinking about this a lot before I chose to play a Gillman. Gillmen must soak themselves in water once per day.

As a Cleric, I have "create water" as a level 0 Orison. When I cast it, though, unlike another spell, it is not expended, and can be cast again. So I can create in a standard action (6 seconds), up to 2 gallons of water per level.

More than enough to soak me. I could probably fill a room if the room were watertight.

[Edit: Create Water = 16 gallons of water. Casting time 1 standard action. A single action per turn means 16 gallons of water per 6 seconds. == 2.6 gallons of water per second.]

At that rate, thats 156 gallons of water an hour. Avergae garden hose produces 300 gallons per hour. So while impressive, it would still take me 228 days at 14 hours per day to fill an olympic size swimming pool (500,000 gallons)

a 10x10x10 pit (100 cubic feet = 748 cubic gallons of water) would take me 4.8 hours to fill up. Hope people brought rope instead.

But still with this, I dont know why farmers dont have cleric sitting out in their fields all summer. Would solve any drought problems.

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Next to arrive was Lord Aroden. The Taldan Lord was dressed quite differently from his formal uniform of last night. No sign, nor color of Taldor was visible. Instead, He was dressed quite simply in grey breeches and tunic. An unadorned dark grey wool tabbard covered his chain shirt.

His steed, though plain as well in adornment, was anything but. It was a brilliant white stallion, of a white so pure it almost radiated light on its own. In its mouth was the simplest of bridle, and there was no other tack worn, not even a saddle. Just a simple grey blanket to keep rider from wearing on mount..

Most marvelous of all though, were the two massive white wings that were attached behind the stallion's shoulder blades, and nestled neetly at its sides.

A small horde of children followed Lord Aroden through the street, looking and pointing at the Pegasus with awe.

Using no visible movment, he steered the Pegasus up to the awaitng party and adjusted the straps on his backpack.

"Mr. Unjunti, Inquisitor Mancha", he smiled. "The blessings of Iomedae on you. It is a morning full of promise. I hope you both slept well".

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Lord Aroden sat in the chilling morning northern air on the balcony of his room at the Inn turned Embassy in Restov. He sat cross legged on the cold wood portch, clad only in his loincloth.

Far in the distance, the first lights of sun crested over the top of the snow capped mountains and shone on his pale skin.

Adodens hand lay in his lap, palms up, one hand cupped in the other. With the first rays of sun, he began his morning prayers to Iomedae.

"Mistress of the blade, chosen of Aroden listen to your humble servant as I strive to serve what is good...", he began.

Slowly in the cold morning, as the street below awakened into life, he recited through the Acts of Iomedae, the list of Iomedae's miracles she performed before obtaining Divinity through the StarStone.

When he was done, rather than completing his prayers, He began to pray to his namesake, the dead god Aroden.

"Lord who is lost, I too am lost. I am your child, thrown from the sea into a world of your bidding... Lady Iomedae, favored of Aroden, grant me strength I need.."

In the palm of his hands, a small ball of swirling water began to form.

As he continued his prayer, the ball of water grew. Suddenly sliding up his arms like two sleeves. The volume of water increased with his prayers, coating up his arms, across his chest, and then up his kneck and covering his head.

The three slitted gills on each side of Lord Aroden's kneck slid open with the watery touch, taking the water in and out of his system, rejuvinating and reviving him.

The conjured water soon coated his entire body, like the cocoon of a buttefly. Then without warning, it suddenly burst its magical confinment and flowed down across the balcony and down into the streets.

For half an hour Aroden meditated, water flowing like a fountain down from his head, across his body and off the balcony like rain. With the last bit of the sun cresting the mountains, the last drops of life giving water dripped from his skin onto the wood beneath him.

"Lord Aroden", said Squire Willaim softly in awe from behind. "Your breakfast has been prepared. I have laid out your plain grey Tabbard for your journey as requested. All your equipment is packed and waiting for you".

At Lord Aroden's nod, the young squire slipped back out of the room and down to the commons below.

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Lord Aroden nods in agreement. "It appears we have a plan then. Move rapidly to the settlement, investigate, make friends with the Centaurs, and if needed persue this creature that has been plagueing possilby both the Centaurs and the Colonly"

He stands up and bows low to the table.

"Very well, the Fat Friar by the West Gate, tomorrow at two bells it is."

"Ambassasor Carrigan, your dinner was excelent, and your company highly enjoyable. I look forward to being able to serve both your Crown and my own in this matter. Now if you will excuse me, I will depart to the Toldarian Enclave here in Restov to make preparations."

He nods to the head butler who instantly appears with his gloves and heavy cloak.

"Inquisitor Mancha, Commander Omanera, Sage Maltisse, and Mr Unjunti", nodding his head at each. "Until tomorrow morning then. Tonight I will pray for a successful venture and the blessings of Iomedae upon us all."

He gathers up the young Squire, who had been "resting", eyes closed and back against the wall. With another bow from the two, they allow themselves to be guided out and into the night.

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Lord Aroden examines the map. "If time is of the essence, I suggest we go by the fastest route possible. Whatever 'Dangers' may be in place, I am sure Iomedae will provide us protection from, or force of arms to overcome."

He looks at the rest of the assembled adventurers. "What say you?"

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Hey, so far Im really enjoying the pacing of this game. I think all the playera are posting timely, and I feel like there is constant slow forward movement in the storyline. Thats great.

Im in another PbP over on the reaper board, and the DM's instructins were "go meet in a tavern". And we the players are having to carry the pacing. So Kudos to you, DM.

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Lord Aroden smiles.

"While more than happy to accept such a request, I have affairs at my Embasy to take care of before I can leave in the morning. My second in command needs to be informed of my absence, and Squire William here needs to be put to bed."

"As for the route, I would deferr to one who is more knowledgable about the surrounding countryside than myself, either Commander Omanera, The Woodsman LaMancha or Sage Maltisse. I dont know this territory well"

"What level of provisions will we be provided for this journey?"

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Lord Aroden responds to the steely gaze with a flashing smile of strong white teeth and sparkling violet eyes. "It cannot be forgotten, Abmassador, for my charter is to serve Kalendor. I have no other interests. To fail Kalendor, would be to betray the trust the Grand Prince has placed in me".

"Let my service, though, speak louder than my words. And if we are able to solve this.... situation... for you. Your King and my Prince can discuss things on a further level. I assure you, that level of politics is much higher than my Rank."

"Out of curiosity, Besides his majesty, who where the origonal band of adventuerers that recieved the charter from the Dragon Throne?"

Male Gillman Cleric 8

Lord Aroden thoroughly enjoys the meal. He spends most of it chatting up his hostess, Victoria Carrigan.

After the meeting he listes to Victoria's and Garrick's speeches.

"Ambassador Carrigan, with your concern about the current political climate, I completely understand the concerns. I am here not just by your request, but with council and backing of the Crown of Toldar."

"You See", he said taking a sip of wine. "The Toldarian crown has interests again in colonization. Your country has a tremendous amount of untapped, wild resources. Taldor feels that mutually benefitial trade agreements could give the Emperor first chance at those resources, while offering you additional manpower and security."

He holds up a sealed scroll case, which is immidately taken by young William, who walks behind the table and hands it to Halsen, who hands it to Victoria.

"This is a letter of introduction from his majesty, Grand Prince Stavian III, Ruler of Taldor. It requests that King Surtova find time in the Spring to visit Taldor, as the Grand Prince's guest. At such time im sure the Senatorial members of Taldor will be happy to explain how Taldor and Kalendor can benefit of each other. During that time such items as formal recognition of Kalendor can be examine, which will certainly help your political relations amongst the kingdoms of the Inner Sea".

He smiles and nods politely to Garek Avery.

"Between now and then, I will be happy to offer the crown assistance in whatever way I can, as both Pegasus Knight of Iomedae, and Ambassador of Taldor. Given the unfortunate history with Taldor and the Centaurs, which is a history neither of us can change, I will be happy to Investigate this item for you with utmost quiet and discression."

@Bwana: I cant stop thinking about the Malibu Rum commercials when I read about your character.

"Hey Mon! Your lazy Eidolon has made me tree seconds late mon! Dis is total gridlock mon!"

and:

"You lazzy scallywag! You never level up anymore. When I was a character your level I had SIX presitge classes mon! I was de fighter, de teif, de mage, de cleric, de cook, de butcher, de baker AN de candle-stick maker. You lazy kids make me sick mon!"

"Ah A Mendevian", said Lord Aroden to Bors. "Im sorry of the mistake. Your accent was strongly Andoran. Ive spent quite a bit of time in Mendev."

"My Regiment, the Taldorian Pegausus Knights, 5th Circle, just finished a two year tour of Duty in the Fourth Crusade. We killed many minons of the Storm King."

Aroden paused for a moment, looking introspectivley at the cieling.

"We lost some good knights there before the Emperor called us home." he looked back at boors. "Blight is still there, Storm King still lives. But we all serve as Iomedae calls".

He motions to one of the manservants.

"Two tankards of your finest meade", he said sending the servant off.

"I suddenly feel like drinking. I hope you will join me".

Bors,

I was just looking over peoples characters, and FYI, your the only stealth/disable device person we have. I dont know how you would feel about tweaking some skill levels, but if there is any trap that needs undone, or lock that needs opening, your gonna be the guy.

D.

Aroden looked at the man who walked up to the crowd. The new solider, in his black dress uniform was clearly out of place, yet he resonated a strenght, and a steelyness of someone who had served many a campaign.

"Here is a soldier that deserves respect", thought Aroden.

Aroden looked at the mans decoration board. "Member of the Steel Falcons, impressive. Thats a crack regiment. Silver eagle for unmatched valor on the battle field, and a Sunburst of Iomeade. Good soldier indeed. I have not earned a Sunburst yet."

Then he scanned for a rank, but found none.

"That is odd he shows no rank. He is obviously a skilled soldier.", he thought. Aroden snapped his heals to attention, and gave the soldier a salute. Not an officer's salute, but a soldiers salute to an equal.

"Master Ormanera, I apologize, as I am not fully versed in Andoran rank structure though they are our neighbors, but I have great respect for the Steel Falcons. I am sure its your combat skills that have brought you here this evening. I too serve Our Lady, ever sharp be her sword. You serve in the Scouts? Calvary or foot? And were you posted on the Cheliax front?"

Aroden watched the odd tussle and outburst of the older gentleman's entrance. He held back a look of distain at the man's scruffy and worl leather clothing. At the same time he was awfuly amused.

He smiled knowingly at Skerrin the sage.

"Oh look", said Aroden under his breath, "He is comming this way"

With a Slight accent that could be relatied to Spanish, the inquisitor adresses the two. "Howdy, I'm Augusto De La Mancha, Inquisitor of the Church of Erastil, you may call me Augusto. I'm not one for formalities, if you didn't notice. Thats an Fancy Sword you have on your hip. Is it just for show? or can you put it to good use?"

Aroden bowed his head slightly to the newcommer.

"Greetings, Inquistor De La Mancha, May I introduce to you Sage Maltisse de Kyonin. And I am Aroden de Neverion, Pegasus Knight of Taldor", said Lord Aroden with a flourish. "And I assure you my blade is authentic."

"Im afraid we have very little of the church of Erastil in Taldor. Your bretheren find our city ways backwards, and I am afraid we are very caught up in our archaic notions of... fashion.. and er... lavatories", Lord Aroden spoke consealing a wink in Skerrin's direction. "So what brings a defender of the woods to a fine dinner with a King?".

"No certainly I undertand", Said Lord Aroden with a smile. "I do get that a lot, having been named after the Diety. I am in fact an acolyte of his Avatar and Inheritor, my Lady Imoedae."

Aroden placed his hand on the hilt of the weapon at his side. "The sword, you could say, is a family heirloom. Though I am not a follower, I am quite facinated by the history of Aroden, my namesake. There are a great many mysteries around him, and very little information sadly. If you are a scholar of his works, and the Azlanti in general, I would be very interested in hearing you discorurse on the subject".

He glanced around the room, looking at the others. "Though we may have to wait until after dinner. I am here on buisness for the Crown of Toldor? If you dont mind me asking, in what manner will you be serving the Crown tonight?"

Sorry about the Regent vs Reagent. What I dont like about this board is that you cant go back and edit posts. I play over on the reaper boards (www.reapermini.com) and i like theirs a lot better.

However this board has an in-line dice roller which I like.

Skerrin Matise, the elderl elf then bowed slightly.

"Who are you?", the elf said with great dignity.

"A great pleasure, Sage Matise. I have never been to Kyonin, but the beauty of its forests are legendary even in Taldor", Lord Aroden walked forward and returned the bow.

"I am Aroden de Neverion, Son of Duke Neverion of Taldor, Pegasus Knight of the 5th circle and at your service. I am here on a diplomatic mission for the crown of Taldor. I am curious. You say that you will be usefull on whatever journey the Reagent cares to send us on. Im not aware of the details of any such a journey, can you elaborate?"

When speaking with Lord Aroden, you notice a two very odd things. The first is his appearance. At a distance nothing particularly stood out, but now here in close proxmity his features are odd. His pale white skin, his arched brows and high cheekbones, his slightly leaf shaped ears, but most of all, his bright violet eyes mark him as anything but human.

The second item was the sword, honor bound at his side. It glows with a soft white light. The golden crossguard is formed by two wings intersecting at the blade under a circlet of a single eye, the symbol of the Last Azlanti.
