LQ looks over at Verdant and Cylver, "Do either of you have an idea?"

LQ nods, "Well, it's not that hard actually, and the stew looks like it already has everything in it. It just needs some reheating. Do you know how we could reheat it? It's sitting over that pile of wood over there." She says, pointing towards the pile of logs that the sealed stew pot sits over. It looks at though they were taken before they had a chance to actually heat the contents.
Going over to the cooking pot that sits over the firewood she lifts the lid and peers inside, "Mmmmm....it looks like some kind of vegetable stew and smells like it's still good. There's quite a bit in here, and I bet if we could figure out a way to heat it up...it would be really tasty too. Then we could all get a good nights rest." She says with a smile as her stomach rumbles.
Her tummy rumbles, "I think I'm too hungry to look around right now."
LQ nods and undoes the harness before stepping away from the cart and looking around, "This should make for a pretty decent place to rest at least." She says, a sound of relief in her voice at getting to rest after their scary trip through the Canyon.
LQ slows and comes to a stop as she looks warily about, "This was where the Mane Six was camped out before....you know, the incident. It's a little creepy all abandoned like this....but, if we stop and look around, we might be able to find some clues about what happened to them, and I don't know about everypony else....but I am just worn out from that canyon run. There's already tents and everything....what do you all think? Should we rest up for a bit before continuing on?" Even though the tone of her voice is questioning, there is a weariness to it that you have never heard come from your friend before. LQ wipes the dust and sweat from her face as she waits to see what everypony wants to do.
LQ jerks the wagon left and attempts to speed up past the falling rock.
LQ pulls with all her might as she tries to avoid the falling boulder.
LQ gives it all she's got to try and get them clear of the danger.
LQ nods and looks back at Verdant and Cylver to see which one would take the reigns and help steer.
LQ hurries to the wagon and starts hitching herself up to it, "I can help pull, if someone else can help steer."
Hearing the noise and seeing the rocks beginning to fall above them, LQ quickly grabs Cylver and leaps out of the way of the rocks. Looking over at Cylver she says, "I'm sorry, I just reacted. We need to get this wagon moving again and get outta here." LQ states as she looks around nervously.
LQ takes out a hankie and hands it Verdant, "Here ya go. It's really dusty out here, so it's probably irritating your nose and stuff. We should probably get ourselves ready for whatever we might find. Just take it and tie it around your face like this, and it should help a little bit." She says, showing Verdant what she means by taking out another piece of cloth and tying it around her own face to block the dust from getting in her mouth and nose.
LQ glances at Cylver, "I know, but at least none of us are alone right? I know it's a lot, but it'll be okay." She says, trying to be comforting and supportive.
"I'm Lollipop Quickstep, but...my friends just call me LQ." She says a bit shyly.
LQ nods her head at the driver as she climbs into the back, "Yes, thank you."
LQ looks to Verdant and Cylver to see what they think.
LQ helps her friends gather up their things as they get ready to depart from the train.
LQ shakes her head, "It's okay, I can rest later when we stop for the night or whatever. Do you feel better after your nap?"
LQ goes to each of her friends and shakes them gently awake, "Okay everypony, it's time to get up. We've made it to Dodge City." She says with a somewhat tired smile.
As her friends doze off, LQ stays awake and watches out the windows at the scenery as they travel.
"If you gals want to catch a nap, I can stay awake and make sure we get off at the right stop." LQ offers.
Nodding she says, "Yeah, well...we should be at Dodge City in a few hours, so you probably have time to nap if you still want to. They seem to have some really comfortable places here on the train." She remarks while finding a place with a nice window to look out of.
LQ runs the rest of the way to the train while waving her ticket in the air, "Wait....wait! We're coming."
Looking over at Cylver, she tries to reassure her. "I'm sure it'll be okay. You'll probably be able to take a nap on the way."
Moving over to Verdant she nudges her friend, "Are you okay? We need to hurry or the train is gonna leave without us."
LQ looks over at Cylver, "Once we're on the train you can take a nice long nap." She says before following Lilac out of the shop wiht a nod at the blacksmith.
She tries to think for a moment, "Ummmm...not sure there is anything else we need besides the train tickets. We got supplies, cloaks, shoes....I think that was it wasn't it?" She asks while looking around at the others.
LQ mods in agreement, "Oh yes, they feel very well made and comfortable on my hooves."
Going to Cylver she gently nudges her friend, "I promise, as soon as we get on the train, you can take as long a nap as you want to okay? Right now we need to finish things up here so we can get going. The sooner we get moving, the sooner you can have a proper nap." She says with a smile.
LQ laughs, "Yeah, I don't think I want to just be sitting around right away. Get in some walking and then maybe we can nap on the way there?"
She shrugs, "I don't know, but it couldn't hurt to check. I need to walk that off anyways." She says with a chuckle.
Groaning a little she says, "Well, that was delicious...but I am absolutely stuffed. So, what should we do now?"
LQ mods her head in agreement, "It was very tasty, but I'm absolutely stuffed."
LQ nods, "Thank you very much Miss." LQ finishes up her dinner and starts on her cupcake, "Mmmmmm.....this is soooo good. How's your guys food?"
Finishing the bite in her mouth, LQ shakes her head. "No thanks hon, I think I'm okay with this." She says, right before taking a drink. She had been so hungry that she had hardly touched her water.
LQ can't help but make happy yummy sounds as she enjoys her sandwich and soup. It was just the perfect combination and the cupcake was absolutely delicious.
LQ nearly salivates all over herself as the food comes out, "Oh my...it all looks so good."
LQ orders her favorite alfalfa and cucumber sandwich, a bowl of broccoli and cheese soup, a carrot cupcake, and fresh squeezed lemonade to drink.
LQ laughs, "Yes silly, we were just trying to decide where to eat. Is the Chow Wagon okay with you?"
"That sounds pretty good to me too. They have a lovely alfalfa and cucumber sandwich, their soups are pretty good too." She says as they trot along, "How bout you Cylver? What do you think?"
LQ laughs as they reach their destination, "Hopefully we can finish up soon and then we'll figure out hows to get there. Maybe if we're lucky, you can get a nap on the way."
LQ goes over to Cylver, "Hey, are you alright?" Looking at Winnie she shrugs, "I don't know, she seemed fine this morning when we were at Fluttershy's cottage."
LQ smiles, "It looks very nice on you Verdant."
LQ looks at herself, and then looks at all the beautiful cloaks. Sighing she says, "I'm really not sure which one I should pick either. Maybe I should just take this brown one, it would go with everything."
LQ nods in agreement, "That seems like a good idea to me."
Looking around she says, "Maybe we should ask around and find out what we will need in the Badlands?"
Okay....so with all this tire stuff going on, I probably won't be able to get to this now until the weekend. I'm sorry, but I promise I will get something up at some point by Saturday. |
