It takes Liriiestil several long moments before he replies to Zaidel "I think so, had an awful waking nightmare. Or perhaps a premonition. Either way, you're right, we need to move."

Gently taking the magical rod, the fae lord studies it closely, casting a spell to help him learn of it's powers. Reminder that Lir has constant Arcane Sight. He then casts Vision 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (11) + 21 = 32 vs a DC of 20, as the item is on hand.

Alright, I’m ready to hand off the reins. Lir, you had expressed interest in running? This could also be a good chance to pick up some new players.

Are you going to wrap up this story, going back to the Summer/Winter courts and dealing with any fall out, or does it end here?

Also, I'm not sure I'm fully ready to take over, as since I last mentioned I had something to run, I've taken on the task of fleshing out my homebrew setting Broken Golarion, which is quite the taunting task.

Lir gestures as he casts a spell, and wrenches two massive boulders from either side of the cavern which smash into the great beast. Casting Clashing Rocks 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (15) + 27 = 42 ranged touch for 20d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 4, 4, 1, 1, 2, 6, 6, 2, 1, 3, 3, 5, 4) = 62 and it falls prone. As I assume this thing is at least part fae, it doesn't get the will save non fae get to resist Lir's spells due to the Fae Magic feats. It does however need to make a DC 40 Ref save or it gets buried as if caught in a cave in.

Liriiestil informs his allies of their foes immunities via his telepathy. Preparing himself for the battle to come, he uses the leaf to summon Talwyn to the fight.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 Initiative ?

1d20 + 31 ⇒ (6) + 31 = 37 Nature, trying to learn of any specific weaknesses, resistances, or immunities it might have.

1d20 + 30 ⇒ (2) + 30 = 32 Arcane, lookin for same info as nature.

In my hurry to get a post up, and it being late when I did, I completely forgot to include that Lir was casting Mindblank on himself before attempting telepathic communication.

The elven king walks to with a hundred yards of the throne, then attempts to communicate with the desiccated fae via telepathy. ::"Greetings, my name is Liriiestil. You appear to be in some form of distress." ::

"Welp, there goes that plan. Ah well. Let's keep moving. I don't think that thing is going to be a threat."

Can Liriiestil figure out how to awaken the shoggoth, as I'm assuming it's incapacitated?

The elven king takes a bit of a gamble upon realizing this creature might be injured or dying. He looks it over to see if it's actually wounded. 1d20 + 32 ⇒ (5) + 32 = 37 Heal

Apologies for the long delay in posting. Last couple of weeks have been kinda crazy.

As I'm unsure what's going on here, I'm going to post a couple of actions based on specific outcomes.

If it appears that the tentacle creature is a spell effect of some sort, Lir will cast either Disjunction or Banishment, depending on which spell will be more effective. He has Arcane Sight permanently, so that should help him figure out which is the better spell.

If this is *not* some sort of magical spell effect, Lir will cast Greater Teleport to move the group beyond the barrier.

Looking to Lucas, the sorcerer says "Threat unidentified. Light it up "

1d20 + 30 ⇒ (19) + 30 = 49 Arcana

1d20 + 31 ⇒ (6) + 31 = 37 Nature

The fae lord tries to figure out what it is that's in front of them. "I believe that's some sort of magical creature."

1d20 + 30 ⇒ (10) + 30 = 40 Spellcraft on the black tendrils

"Well, that's mildly inconvenient, however, I believe I might have a way around that barricade."

Also, forever ago, Yaass gave me permission to have a friend play one of my companions(I have both an animal companion and familiar). Unfortunately, I kinda never got around to finding somebody.

However, I have since asked a buddy of mine to play my fae wolf.

Is that okay with the others? Obviously he won't be in the scene/fight, but once we finish this mission, I would like to have access to my wolf again. I actually have a lot of my spells known specifically for my animal companion.

Unsure exactly what they are facing, Lir once again blasts their foe with a colorful attack. Casting Elemental Assessor 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (15) + 21 = 36 CL check for SR 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8 acid 2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4 cold 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7 electricity 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2 fire. Will save DC 40. Also using Rime Spell, so it if fails it's saving throw, it's also entangled for 6 rounds.

Lir casts a spell to toughen up Zaidel, and once again makes it nigh impossible to detect Lucas.

Casting Stoneskin on Zai and Impenetrable Veil on Lucas, both last 210 minutes, or just under 2 hours.

1d20 + 31 ⇒ (8) + 31 = 39 Nature to identify the bizarre creature before them

I've been waiting for the GM to get back to me on how many rounds of buffing I have, since you can't buff your allies via Time Stop.

So, I just realized Time Stop doesn't allow you to buff your allies, as you can't affect anyone with spells. Which throws my plan for a bit of a loop.

GM, prior to combat, how many rounds do I get to buff us? I had intended to use Time Stop for several rounds worth, but that's not possible.

GM, how long has it been since we entered the barrow? Lucas' Impenetrable Veil last for just under two hours. Wanna make sure it's still active.

"I can potentially convert our enemies into allies, as well as being able to call forth additional assistance, should we require it."

Do we have any time to buff up?

"As far as I can tell, nothing. Let's start with Birth, then War, Victory, Destiny, Reign, and see what happens."

"Seems the runes are scrambled and will need to physically moved around for us to gain entry. However, I'm a bit stumped on the proper order."

GM, does the door seem at all trapped if we get the order wrong?

Sensing the tangle mess of magic in the runes, the fae lord attempts to unscramble them.

Can I take 10 or 20 on Arcana/Spellcraft? If so Arcana is 27 or 37 while Spellcraft would be 40 or 50.

Studying the runes intently, Lir replies "Honestly, it could be any of those, or a combination of all three."

I think this is a case of the PCs are smarter than the players and should be able to figure this out, but I myself am at a loss as to how.

Lir will take the time needed to study the runes and decipher their meaning.

Let me know if I need to make a check, or something.

The fae lord scans the door with his enhanced sight, seeing if there was any magic present that might hard them. 1d20 + 40 ⇒ (20) + 40 = 60 Perception, Arcane Sight

Letting Lucas continue to scout ahead invisibly, Lir comes up behind the sniper several moments later. Investigating the door, he attempts to perhaps learn what the scenes might portray.

Sorry, I meant to reply the other night, but got distracted by both RL and online stuff.

The fae lord reaches into his belt, and pulls out a pale blue pouch. He pours the diamond dust within in a circle around Talywn and enacts his spell. "Hear me oh Lost Prince, lord of Melancholy! The fae before me has guarded his people in exile, even though they have long since forgotten him. Enuui has take root deep in soul, yet still he holds his post. I beg of you, restore unto him some of his former glory and power, that he might continue his duty, despite those he serves no longer remembering him!"

Casting Miracle opting for the 'very powerful request'. As Liriiestil is an orcale, he gets his power from the Eldest as a 'pantheon'. He's pettioning The Lost Prince who is the Eldest of Forgotten Things and Solitude.

"Hold a moment. I'm going to attempt to restore our ally here to some of his former power." The elf replies to Zaidel.

However, before he can begin, he gets Lucas' question which he repeats "Will this token warn the enemy of our presence?"

"Talwyn, if you would like, I can attempt to alleviate some of the corruption that has taken root in your soul. Unsure if it will last long, but if it turns out we need your assistance, it could make the difference." Lir offers the fae lieutenant.

Curious, will a wish or miracle restore any of Talwyn's strength?

Lir graciously accepts the leaf, gently placing it in his belt pouch. "Thank you my friend. We'll hopefully be victorious this day, and perhaps then you can return home."

"Thank you for the warning. If you'd like, I can create a safe space for you to rest while we continue on." The fae lord offers.

I have few spells that create extra dimensional spaces, including a fae specific one.

Lir flashes Talywn a grin. "I'll let my friend introduce himself, but he is a good, solid, trustworthy companion. If it has been quite some time since you last had water, has it been an equally long time since you last ate? If so, I can provide you some nourishment."

"Only part of what I said was untrue, I will see to it you are rewarded for your vigilance. We're here due to reports that Umraidh has been gathering troops/forces. We seek to find out the truth of that, and to potentially put a stop to him."

Wow, a +89 bonus to sense motive? That's a little nonsense, lol. My highest skill is Diplomacy vs fae at an 80, and that's with epic skill focus and magic item boosts.

"He sung a most epic tale of your bravery and loyalty. You shall be properly rewarded upon our return, I swear." He lies, hoping to bolster Talwyn's spirits. 1d20 + 68 ⇒ (17) + 68 = 85 Bluff

Turning to the young girl he replies "Listen little one, I am not sure who you are, or what you're doing here, but I am trying to get some important information. If you don't want to be here, leave."

Hey GM, did the King sing Talwyn's praises? That scene was kinda glossed over some, lol

"The Dandelion King is not with us, but we are here on his behalf. Tell me, what do you know of the defenses of this barrow?" The sorcerer says aloud.

Listening to Talwyn's explanation of who he was and why he was here, the fae lord tries to determine the truth of his words. 1d20 + 55 ⇒ (14) + 55 = 69 Sense Motive

Assuming the fae is telling the truth, Lir attempts to figure out if he's wounded or in need of healing in any way. 1d20 + 32 ⇒ (9) + 32 = 41 Heal.

Just as he's about to turn around and get the rest of their group, Lir hears a voice call out. The voice sounds incredibly tired and weak. It stops him in his tracks, and causes him to turn around. However, the elven king was no fool, and was well aware of the 'tricks' of the fae.

Instead of walking into a possible trap, he reaches out telepathically. ::"I am Autumn King Liriiestil, who are you?"::

::"Yeah, we just finished them off. Want me to move up to you, or go back and bring forward the rest of the group?"::

Assuming Lucas knows to stay within 300ft so Lir can communicate with him. He would have definitely told the sniper before we started down this tunnel.

::"Anything up ahead we should be worried about?"::

Just looked up the Troop subtype and they do in fact take +50% damage from AoEs. Thus, they took 94 points from the Shadowblast, 48 cold, 48 electricity.

Assuming they're still up

Summoning the arctic chill of the Winter Fae, Lir batters the horde with biting cold. Casting Cone of Cold for 15d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 3, 1, 5, 1, 4, 2, 1, 6, 2, 1, 2, 2) = 42 x1.5 is 63. Modifying it with Tenebrous Spell, Will save 38. 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (9) + 21 = 30 SR check

Are they functionally a swarm, or can I target the fey individually? If they are a swarm, they should take 50% more damage from the Shadowblast, as it's an AOE

Waiting on the GM to let me know if I can learn if the spell had any effect(or extra effect or less effect) on that horde.

Just been a few days, so I'm not too impatient.

Can I tell if they took any damage? Should I make a check of some sort?
