I've been trying to add threads to my favorite threads list but I find when I click on 'list,' on the first post, the post temporarily vanishes, and no option to add shows up.

I can add later posts if I want, but adding a specific post won't tell me if there's new posts on the thread.

Would I be correct in assuming that trying to play the path with a party of 4 androids- immune to disease, immune to fear and mind-affecting effects (assuming not taking the emotions feat)- would result in a game that pretty strongly misses the point? ^^

Have you ever played a Reptoid, those shape-shifting reptilian infiltrators from Bestiary 5?

Bonus 1- And done so without telling the party you're a Reptoid?

Bonus 2- While pretending to change characters every few sessions when there's downtime, but really just being the same Reptoid swapping disguises?

Bonus 3- Had to use the line, "Oh no, I've been transformed into a lizardfolk/Nagaji!"?

Short answer- no, they're horrible fields who are ultimately a danger to just about everything that isn't them, but I think one could frame things as if they were.

Ok, think about it. In the beginning there's the Maelstrom and then they do some experiments and mess up and either created or opened up the Abyss.

From the Qlippoth point of view, though? There they are, in their home plane, living with no outside worries, just doing what they do.

Then this *event* happens, another species from another plane opens up a barrier between the two... and it's not just a connection, but everything's cracked up now and their reality is eating away at yours, so you counter-attack.

And then there's more stuff that shows up, other planes. They might not be directly as hostile as this storm of chaos, but still tied to it and certainly not friendly. Even Axis, that comes from yet a third place entirely, not only tries to encroach on the Maelstrom but your home Abyss as well.

And so there's this conflict that lasts for eons... until things get worse.

The Demons! These were things inflicted on them by the outside reality, by mortals, by shoving souls into their home and creating something new and evil that tries to destroy them. Think about how horrible and wrong that must be to them, like an alien invasion that implants part of themselves into the Earth to make human-hunters, only instead of humans it's Qlippoth.

Hard to view the 'new' reality that Golarion and etc. is part of as benevolent when it's inflicted all this on the poor Qlippoth, isn't it?

So curiosity/got to thinking, how much do we know about the ages of different gods, who's oldest and who's youngest?

And of the ones we don't know for sure, where do we place them?

Pharasma seems a shoe-in for the oldest of the old, with Asmodeus pretty far up there.

Flipside, Iomedae and Milani, the youngest of the young? Or is there anyone younger still?

Let's try and make a deific age list

The origin of Asura is that they are the 'mistakes of the gods'. Origin wise, this leaves when they were made very wide open- various gods have existed for a long time, after all.

However, it strikes me that we know a specific period when the gods were super into experimentation- the First World, preparation for the material plane and mortal life.

And it'd also fit into the Asura focusing in on mortals as their objects-of-revenge against the gods. More-so than if they were failed attempts to make angels and other Outsider-servants.

So I'm wondering, are Asura from around this time period? Maybe a prior batch of experiments right before the fey, or even made at the same time as the fey as part of the same experimental process, just less successfully?

Ok, a lot of us have reasonable wants and predictions for bestiary 7.

Now, cast your mind into the future. Pathfinder's kept chugging and is ready to finally double it's bestiary count. A lot of stuff we currently want will already be printed, and we can guess a fair amount of our future wishlists will be started and finished.

What do you think you'll want at that point? Take a stab at the future! Make a guess!

What's your wishlish-12? ^^

Baga Yaga canonically knows how to grant spells, but chooses not to, so normally what she would grant is an academic question.

But let's say that one's running a game set after a Baba Yaga campaign where she agreed to start grant spells to clerics on Golarion as a result of a favor owed.

What do you think she'd grant?

I'm getting involve in a PF game where I'm thinking of a Kitsune Sorcerer with an emphasis on charm and similar spells, and we're starting at level 5.

I'm thinking of Impossible Bloodline so I can hit constructs with mind-affecting spells, and in position to get the metamagic Threnodic Spell later so I'll be able to hit undead.

Is this a mechnically worthwhile approach, or am I better off spending my resources (bloodlines, feats, etc.) in other areas to be effective?

I've never run this character type, so if anyone has advice or experiences they'd like to share on similar characters I'd like to hear it

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I finished Hell's Rebels, and it left me with one lingering question...

Why are there Proteans in the bestiaries?

Did I miss them showing up at some point? Don't get me wrong, I love Proteans, love to see more of 'em- I think these ones were better than the bestiary 2 ones in general. But I'm head-scratched why they're there. They just use their talents at chaos to sneak their way into a book vs lawful foes? ^^
