Lershim has Darkvision, so let me know if he sees anything in the darkness.
Feeling the spell take hold, he shouts, "Thanks for that Ansha!"How does she do that! I didn't see her cast a spell. I shall have to watch more closely...
He casts Shield once again, and moves 60’ toward cover, trying to hide for starters since he can’t see the opposition.

Lershim wants to flee, he really does. He’ll take on the worm, but the shadows could slay him - almost instantly. He is not a strong man. But he takes heart in Thurin Ironfist. He cannot flee - not while that stalwart dwarf stands so tall. At least… not yet.
Lershim, from flank, tries to reduce the worms magics with his sneak attacks!
Anista:1d20 + 25 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 25 + 3 = 38 (heroism, flank, -1 str)
damage:1d4 + 14 + 1d6 + 8d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 14 + (6) + (5, 2, 1, 5, 5, 1, 6, 6) - 1 = 53 (d6 acid, sneak, -1 str) 1 = max die so, Total damage: 63Dispel:1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34
If a sneak attack hits:
- Disoriented: -2 attack rolls, -6 vs Lershim, lasts 1r (negated if healed at all)
- Hampered: speed reduced to half (min 5’) and cannot take a 5’ step, lasts 1r (negated if healed at all)
- Dispelling attack: targeted dispel against lowest level spell, caster level check +15
Lershim is 20’ off the ground.
On the next hit on Lershim:
I’ll again use my mythic teleportation to avoid the strike, this time moving back behind the front line. Lershim can’t get hit by those shadows and live…

NOTE: I have an unexpected 10’ reach for purposes of AoOs and also Combat Reflexes, combined with a high dex. So if anyone passes through my expanded threat range, let me know and I’ll make the needed rolls.
If an ally hits an opponent within my 10’ reach - I make an opportunity attack (one per round):

Hrm. I'm realizing I need to post, in advance, one of my abilities. I can negate one hit and teleport to any open square up to 30’ away as an immediate action, which I'd have done against the bite.
However, I'd have stayed in flank, so the shadows still would have attacked. My non-grappled touch AC is 26, plus the magical shield spell for a 30 - but the second shadow would still get me.
I think then, I have -2 strength at the moment and I'm 10' further than where I started (moved on the map). I'll try and suggest a plan prior to the event so it's easier to adjudicate. Hope this is correct! Let me know please.
Hrm.... No I do not. I'll take the miss. I may need that immediate action when the other things assault me (though they'd need to fly up to get me, I'm betting they can).
Oh, I forgot to add +2 for flank, if that is enough. If not, call it a miss. :(
Likewise for Lershim. I don't have the benefit of coming up with you folks along the way. So I'm going to have blind-spots (like darkvision, nicely fixed!), but I may also be over-built.
We'll know with time, but if something I'm doing is a problem, please speak up! I have very thick skin, but also want this to be a community game, not just me doing stuff. :D

”OK! Let’s do this!” Lershim shouts in his squeaky voice. It cracks he’s so eager to prove himself to his new friends, but he doesn’t notice. He piggy-backs Thurin’s dimension door, grabbing him as he goes.
He freely burns mythic energy to gain a standard action - in which he casts Fly from his boots (5m). Swiftly then he gains arcane strike (+4dam) as he flies into the room, looking to get into flank - or at least in that direction (moved on map, remember I’m invisible and flying). Finally he makes an attack against his flatfooted opponent and turns visible!
If a sneak attack hits:

- Bleeding attack: +8hp bleed damage (start of their turn) bypassing DR, any cure or DC 15 heal to stop (negated if healed at all)
He looks uncomfortably at the wave of 'lesser' undead behind the big bad. ”Hey, anyone know what these are and how screwed I am?”
Lershim is 20’ off the ground. If I can't dimension door, then ignore the attack but the rest stands (double move instead).

Moved on the map, but Lershim is row two, not row one, so he's not leading the pack.

Lershim returns after a very short time. "Well, there's not much to see. North or east seem the most likely to end up with something. Could be a linked passage, could be multiple critters." he rubs his hands together.
"Let's go north, shall we? Then we can swing east to make sure we get 'em all. And I gotta get me some specs." he sighs.
He casts Shield on himself, since we’re close enough to hear movement. Lasts 15 minutes. I also have heroism up from earlier. Still running. Of course, I’m also still invisible, considering how little time that probably took (I took off 5 minutes anyway).
Lershim waits for a front line to form, and he tucks in right behind it. He draws his war hatchets. Grinning, he’s ready to go.
Lershim nods before turning invisible and heading down each passage a little ways to see what he can see before the light fails. He's hoping the enemy needs light, or has light, so he can see them from the darkness.
But he doesn't go far. Certainly not so far as to lose sight of the lights the party carries.

No knowledge religion unfortunately.
Lershim, when it becomes clear they’re finally near the creature, requests Heroism from Anista, his war hatchet. Receiving it, he then offers, ”I could scout out ahead a little if you liked. Not far, as I don’t trust the shifting nature of the plane not to separate us, but a little ways just to see ahead. I can become invisible you see. Or rather don’t see.” The little man grins at his little joke.
He takes out his war hatchets, making himself ready for what’s to come. He looks to the two passages and listens to try and determine what the most direct path to the beast might be as he waits for the party to decide what to do.
Perception:1d20 + 22 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 22 + 2 = 35 (heroism) (+7 for traps)
In anticipation of sneaking head, he'll cast Prestidigitation to clean himself up - hoping to dampen any lingering odor.
If sneaking:
Anista, his war hatchet, will cast Invisibility on Lershim who will then sneak ahead as quietly as a mouse.
He does not, at this stage, have darkvision. So there's a real limit as to how far ahead he can go if there are no other light sources. Gotta fix that now that I think about it!

Can't help with the survival checks, sorry! Lershim is totally out of his element...
Perception:1d20 + 22 ⇒ (6) + 22 = 28
Lershim continues to feel as a fifth wheel on the wagon - useless most of the time. He worries a little that the others will notice, but there’s little he can do about it. He only hopes there are occasions for him to show his worth.
Damned Abyss. It’s much less fun than he had hoped. Maybe they should have gone to town. You know, just for a bit.
He grins despite himself and waits to be lead around the mountainside.
"Great. Well, as we don't know which direction to go, and we're in a maze anyway, let's go North to start, and see if we can pick up the threads of a trail from there."
Lershim himself can't do much along these lines, but he'll try to help out.
"If we have no other leads, then the city is an obvious choice to find, hire, or coerce, a local who knows where to go. So sure, as it seems we have no leads, let's head in."
"I share Ansha's concerns about being too obvious though. Though I may be a little, ah, shifty, disguise is not something I trained in. Maybe we can try a lesser used gate in case there's a ruckus?"
"Hrm. I wonder. Is this a situation where we find the biggest demon and smack him around? Then all the littler demons leave us alone? Would that work?" He grins, thinking it might be fun to try anyway.

”I don’t see any demons.” Lershim begins quietly, ”And it’s cold. I think we took a wrong turn.”
He looks about, and will consider activating his flying boots until Nasira reminds him. Still, he says ”My dear, heroism if you please.” he asks of his war hatchet, who complies. Then he too looks around to see what can be seen.
Lershim chuckles as they’re waived through, Damn, it worked! Pretty slick stuff.
He strides in like he owns the place, though he’s watching out for traps…
Most of the time, Lershim keeps his eyes open for traps. In areas where they might make sense, he’ll check, taking ten, for a perception 32 +7 for finding traps so a 39.
Lershim, still with that new-guy smell, keeps his trap shut. He figured there were smooth talkers among them, but he's surprised by Thurin's abrupt approach. Still, probably the best approach with a demon.
He readies for combat, eager to test himself and prove his worth to his new allies. He leans into the balls of his feet, ready to move.
If he's given a chance, He'll make some space, go outside, etc., for he's not quite sure how it works and he doesn't want to break anything. Then try to activate it.

”I don’t want to make any enemies this early in our time together, especially since we seem to have enough already, but I’ve gotta side with Dranok on this one. Now sure, he may have said some suggestive things about your god,” he nods to the offended party, ”But he apologized. Besides, in my opinion, he’s not wrong exactly, though I might have said it differently.”
”But you sir have threatened to kill his god, totally based on a dislike or orcs. Now I understand disliking orcs, but what the hell man? You should show a little respect. Dranok is here, on his own recognizance, and he’s ready to do his duty against the demons. Even after you all talked about what we’re going to have to do, he didn’t back down. Didn’t walk away.”
”That’s deserving of respect. And you gave him none.” Lershim gets a little red in the face with his squeaky voice squeaking away.
”Now I apologize if I’ve gone and pissed you off, ‘cause that isn’t my goal, but I’m about as neutral as can be here and I think you’re in the wrong Lord Ironfist. Sir.”
Lershim listens as the barbs travel back and forth. He's impressed by the depth of feeling, and the general skill of banter. Good thing no one hates halflings, he thinks to himself ignoring the slavery predominate in Cheliax for the moment.
”Just Lershim. I am master over no one.” he shakes his head at the thought.
”Yeap. I can scout. I’m a thief, and a good one. Never was much for picking pockets, but I can crack a safe like nobody I know, and that goes for traps too. You’d be amazed at what rich folk rig up!” He grins, ”Of course, I wouldn’t thieve from you lot of course. Comrades in arms. Wouldn’t be right.”
”I’m happy to scout whenever it makes sense. Happy to overcome those pesky traps. I’m also quite happy to cut down some demons.” he looks around at all the muscle, ”Though it seems you have that well covered! I can at least stay out of the way.”
”Stealing from a demon is good. Let’s eat!” he follows the others.
Lershim is a dark little halfling. His countenance is rather simple. Armor, weapons, a straightforward little pack, and a few odds and ends poking about. He wears a thick black beard and longish hair which goes with generally darkened gear and appearance. Even his hatchet is cold iron, sticking out of a nice sheath on his belt.
He nods to Damiel, ”Pleasure, I’m sure. Glad someone’s heard of me.” He chortles and immediately begins to get down to it, ”I’m still fairly new to this crusading business, but I’m eager to cut down the opposition. Need a little re-fitting on my hatchet, so hopefully the haulings are good from these abyssal a*!!!*%s.”
”My name’s Lershim Rill as her lordship said. Queen Galfrey sent me to shore up your numbers and thin the hoard of demons in the worldwound.” he produces any documentation he may have been given. ”I’ve been traveling for some time now, and my feet are weary of the road. They need some invigorating. When do we start? I’m ready!”
He chuckles, listening to himself carry on so, and adds more humbly, ”Well, maybe not for anything, but I’ll do what I can to help. I understand it’s pretty hairy up here.” He looks at you earnestly for some real intelligence from the front lines.
I'm totally fine with that DM Variel. Sent by the Queen to the front is something like his dream. He'd totally go!
Yes, I already have Mirror Dodge. I'd not seen it before, but loved the possibilities! I just fear I'm going to burn through all my mythic points, hehehe.
I was able to finish him up over lunch. Well, here’s the first draft of my character anyway. Still a few odds and ends to clean up, but I think he’s mostly done.
However! Building at 15th level is difficult, let alone all those mythic levels. I’m sure he’s not perfectly optimized, but I’m not worried about that. I’m also sure there are mistakes - so please point those out when you find them! PM is fine and I'll get stuff fixed tomorrow and do another run over the whole thing for any final tweaks.
Nice build there in Damiel. I landed on a lot of the same abilities as you, though I'm a melee build instead of a ranged one. I'm worried about my AC (damned max dex), but we'll see how bad it gets in the thick of things.
I have an event tonight I can't skip since I'm the host more or less. Otherwise I think I'd be done tonight. Or at least done enough for you fine lot to give him the once over and hopefully catch my mistakes. :D
So I should have a character up tomorrow, Friday, though likely late. We'll see how tomorrow goes. Might be a half day of work for me too, in which case I'll be done even earlier!
Thanks for the suggestions Thurin. I looked at Fickle Attack and avoided it initially 'cause I hate doing extra math in my posts! Hehehe. That said, it's still on the short list to be winnowed down...
I'm not doing power attack with this little munchkin - I have some nice debuffs when I hit, so I want to make sure I do. Damned 3/4 BAB! :) Still, I figure the front-liners will be doing the most hit points. I'm giving a few little benefits (flank & sneak debuffs mostly) and some damage to boot. I'm a little worried about moving about in combat and getting my right swings in, but we'll see how it goes.
So far he's more martial, which is probably silly, but that's how he feels to me. He won't compete with the big boys, but maybe he can still help out. I haven't played rocket tag at this level (the mythic, it burns!) so we'll see how he plays.
I haven't added gear yet, and I managed a 38 disable device. My perception lags rather further behind at 29 for traps. Hopefully I'm not the only perception guy?
Very powerful build you've got there! Beats what I'll end up with on the damage front for sure. Oof! Nice job.
I've a loooong way to go on the build, but thought I'd drop in and say thanks for the invite. I'll try to be a productive player - and not too annoying. Well, mostly. If I do offend, please PM me so I don't do it twice. :)
Thurin, I'd love to see your build - or at least the skill structure! I'm still in the early stages, but those are higher numbers than I'm seeing. I tend not to optimize an awful lot, but I like to think I'm competent... still rogues are a new thing for me so a sense of where you're getting your numbers would be really helpful.
Have you seen some really high trap/lock DCs? What neighborhood are we talking about?
I have a question about Arcane Strike (link). I cast two whole spells, through rogue talents - but I do cast with my rogue level as the caster level. Does that mean I can take this feat, and gain a +4 damage (needed) when I’m not otherwise using my swift action? I know we have three front liners already.
I might need the feat to boost my disable device, but might take it in the future if it's approved.
