Leonar's page

It is not on the Druid Spell list, but it is my domain spell at 4th level. Hover is fine. I’m out of offensive non fire spells, so I was hoping to delay the dragon from attacking for another round.

The Druid casts Greater Command on the dragon, ordering him to ‘Halt,’ as described in the spell.

DC 20 Will save to resist.

The Elven archers loose their arrows at the beast.

I don’t remember their stats, but here is a d20 Attack roll for them, without any multipliers.

Leonar keeps flying circles, waiting for the dragon to return. He has the elven longbowmen at the ready to fire at will when the beast enters range.

Leonar was unable to speak and advise what he had seen, so he continued to circle in the air, waiting for the dragon to return. The invaders would have to wait until the dragon was finished.

I forgot the elven longbowmen. They will ready arrows for when the dragon approaches within 110’.

Leonar isn’t going to follow the dragon and be caught alone with the beast, so he loops around, looking for any other threats.

Eagle Leonar casts Sleet Storm to put out the dragon’s fire that hit the town.

Most of my attack spells are fire based, so there isn’t much I can really do to hamper it right now. Hopefully the melee can finish it.

The Druid casts Burst of Radiance, catching the dragon in its range.

Damage 5d4 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 4, 3) = 17
DC 18 Reflex save to negate blindness for 1d4 ⇒ 2 and instead be dazzled for 1d4 ⇒ 1 rounds.

Leonar also casts Divine Favor on himself as he prepares to engage the dragon in battle.

In animal form, the Druid can’t communicate with the archers. He can however, screech and point towards the rest of the team heading back to the walls. He flies back as quickly as his large wings carry him.

DM, call Lightning Storm has immense range that can hit targets welll over 500’ away. Can I Harry them with bolts until they arrive, hopefully reducing their number quite a bit? I’ve only used three bolts so far, so I’ve got six more to rout as many of the gobbos as possible.

The elves run forward for another round, pulling their longbows as they did so.

Oh yes, could I please tell the elves to open fire as soon as they gain sight on the giants , if they are close to in range.

The Druid shifts form into that of an Eagle. He spreads his wings and takes to the air!

I figure it will take me a round or two to close with the Giants.

A lump grew in Leonar’s throat when he saw the size of the attacking horde. He waited on instructions as he looked out over the masses. He casts Magic Vestment and Barkskin, sterling himself for the battle.

Leonar blushed a bright red at the fuss being made by Trellara and the rangers. He wasn't used to anyone making a fuss over him, especially not someone as pretty as she was. "Uh, alright, get up everyone. Thank you, I suppose. I'm not exactly what I'm supposed to say. I guess, thanks again. Let's do our best to keep those creatures from storming our walls, how about that? Trellara, you know the rangers better than I. I trust you to position them to take advantage of their strengths. And everyone, please, stay safe. If we need to run, there's nothing wrong with retreating and regrouping."

He shook all the ranger's hands, and then went to try to upgrade his items as well. Is upgrading from a +1 cloak of resistance valued at 1000 gold to a +2 cloak which is valued at 4000, for a total cost of 3000 okay? Or do I need to sell the +1 cloak for 500 gold and buy the +2 cloak for 4000, for a total of 3500 gold? Either way is fine.

Leonar's top two upgrades would be for a Wisdom +4 item, replacing my +2 one. Second would be upgrading my cloak of resistance.

Since I'm on the other side, I'm not going to do an aid another, as that feels like it would be cheating somehow. Hopefully we don't need it with that diplomacy roll.

I think I favor keeping the clerics held back and safe. If they get exposed and slammed, everyone will get in trouble really quickly.

What is the biggest city relatively close to Brindol? If we have to retreat, a bigger town with a bunch of guards might be for the best.

"You lot have no idea about the lure size of the horde. Meeting them head on would be a suicide mission. Our only chance is to hope the walls hold strong while we pick off some of the attackers. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that's the only real option," Leonar adds to the conversation.

I agree that defending the walls is the best option. Helakuu is right. I'll also post an aid another once the Lieutenant makes his post.

Leonar isn't terribly vocal, so he wouldn't be a huge contributor to the discussion. I can't think of anything he'd wish to hold back. He might just tell the Council that the Ghostlord was neutralized, but not go any further unless questioned. He will tell how many dragons the group his dispatched, since that was specifically mentioned. He will also tell the truth about the vast horde of baddies on the way. I don't think we wants to impress any of the NPcs in particular.

"Lord Jarmaath has requested our presence via magical messaging. We've been on the ground, battling the horde as best we could. Could one of you tell him the reinforcements have arrived?". Leonar's posture became more relaxed, hoping the guards don't take them as a threat.

Awesome! I'm glad she was sort of Intended to be used for the Leadership feat. Do you want to control her, DM? I've heard that can help keep things from gettting crazy, as I don't want to abuse the fact you allowed the feat.

Fine. DM, would you please get Trenalla prepared? Sounds like she's the winner!

Is everyone else okay with that choice? To me it seems the best option for us.

Trellara would be a nice pickup. It would make a nice story hook. I wonder if she'd be an appropriate level follower?

Ok, what class do you all think we could use most to help us out? How about someone like just a plain old cleric? We could certainly use some healing help, as could every party.

Level 8 Feat: leadership. I've never taken leadership before. Any ideas from the group on what we might want as a follower? Or does the DM want to introduce someone/something?

Speaking of Leadership as a feat, I have the Nobility domain which grants that as a bonus feat at 8th level. The prior DM and I were supposed to discuss that at some time, but we never got around to it. Since we have a full party now, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if perhaps I could substitute another feat for it, instead, DM.

"I'm ready. Make haste, and let's go save the town!". Leonar turns into a great eagle and takes flight as the others ride their horses.

Leonar will approach if no one else does first, and make the transaction. He takes the two vials and passes them to the Mage for inspection of the magic contained therein.

"I can't think of any reason to tarry here longer. Is everyone ready?"

"If you keep your word, we will keep ours, and there will be further uncomfortableness between us. Hopefully, we never have call to pass your way again," the Druid adds, as he waits for the results of the magical scan of the vials.

Leonar nods at the undead. "It sounds like the time to get out is here. We'll see you at dawn," the Druid nods at the powerful lich.
