If either archetype replaces or modifies the same class feature the two are incompatible. If they don't conflict, you're good.

That doesn't answer the question I presented in the post. Should the Emissary's abilities be restricted to the Cavalier's mount, or should they be used on any mount?

I made an Emissary Cavalier for a game one of my friends is running. I was torn between the Emissary and the Musketeer archetypes, but chose the one that let me have and utilize a mount. I didn't realize at the time that a character could mix and match archetypes.

I now wish to give this character the Musketeer archetype (said character hasn't been introduced in-game yet), but a thought occured as I was reading both archetypes over. The Emissary's abilities are rather vague as to whether or not they require the Cavalier-specific mount, or if they just need to be mounted at all. The only one that mentions the Mount ability at all is the one that grants both mount and rider Mobility.

So, my question is this: ignoring the 'conflict' of proficiencies (both archetypes outright state that they don't get heavy armor), how should the later abilities be handled for the Emissary? Should they be tied to the Mount (and therefore make the two archetypes incompatible), or should they be usable on any mount?
