Leconair smacks his forehead. Ale for the dwarves! Why didn't I think of that? What an amazing bargaining commodity that would make. "Ahem, Ser Donatello? Perhaps you have a moment to discuss what you're sitting on?" GM: I'm just following along and playing with how Leconair sees and handles what's getting posted. Please let me know if this is cluttering up the recruitment thread and you'd rather I chill or take it over to the discussion thread. I'm sure I can get Leconair to sit still for a while. I think he has some rope in his stash well suited for this purpose.
From what I can tell, the first thing you need to do is to figure out what you character's big goal is, and why you would abandon the old home and come to a new settlement and serve as Leconair's assistant... Alternatively, you can just focus on what you want to play, and what you want to do here in Newspring to help make Leconair's business a rousing success story, and brainstorm goals and how you got to such an enviable position from there.

Ahem. Kal'Tos, Cueta, I can't help but overhear all your lamenting about snow. I just so happen to have this shovel with me. You know, with the winter season upon us, it might just come in handy. Now, about those arrows...
Oh, I suppose I should follow instructions at least a little bit, being lawful and all. Background:
Son of a large, well-off family, Leconair knew early he was too far down the line of succession to expect a meaningful role in carrying on the family legacy. Instead, he soaked up all the learning afforded him, and leveraged his connections to a junior role in a well-established merchant house (The Silverdawn Traders). As he worked his way up the ranks, The House made an investment in an expedition to the new lands. Leconair saw his opportunity, and jumped at the chance to be among those representing the House in this daring venture... Appearance:
Silver-white long flowing hair, with the typical tall and wiry lankyness of the elven race. Pale, where you can see. Personality:
This is pretty open. My thought is someone who is opportunistic. As for how that will unveil itself, I was going to improvise a little and grab what sticks. I like the little bit of playfulness he's displayed so far outside the campaign, and may bring some of that into the game. So, lighthearted banterer, with a thick enough skin to take it as well as he dishes it (and he dishes pretty benignly, knowing that misunderstandings can lead to burnt bridges). I'll do my best to keep it in check. Please don't hesitate to slap me on the wrist whenever you see something toeing the line too much. Goals: Leconair's current passion is in creating a successful trade network in the new world, tie it back to his connections in the old world, and become a senior partner. What he trades in is secondary.
Here's Leconair the merchant, in progress. There's a link to a myth-weaver page on the profile. I will move some of the crunch over to the alias profile and summarize his motivations (highlights from the past and the vision of the endeavor - to grow a successful trading network here as an extension of the trading house he belongs to back home).

Sure! This was a very nice a relaxing campaign, free flowing almost like a lazy river. I think that was both its strength and its downfall. I really enjoyed it as a way to get comfortable with the role-playing and the roll-playing of PBP, as well as some of the mechanics of Pathfinder. Unfortunately, I think that also made it easy to seem to lack enthusiasm, even when it may not be the case. I think you did great as a DM. I loved the opening sequences in the first town. The false lead, the misunderstanding, the changing of the mood of the town. That was amazing! I also enjoyed our little mini-combat with the runaway lizards. That was very cute. Non-threatening yet intense. The carnival games were ok, but the rules were hard to follow at times. We probably could've just waved our hands at it with a few rolls and role-played it out for a few days and moved on. Or, may be have less events, but with all of us were involved, like in the one throwing contest. That was a nice alternative to typical DnD combat that everyone could do something with. As you can see above, I really thought the campaign was fun while it lasted. It may have just been too much lazy river, in need of a bit of white water to get our adrenalin pumping. By the way, I don't want to mislead you. I don't canoe or raft, despite the analogy. In fact, what I do in water can barely be called swimming. But, it seems like the right analogy, so i went with it.

Thank you everyone for the game. It has been fun while it lasted. Perhaps we will find each other again somewhere down the road. Until then, happy gaming. I'm ok with hurrying through this game, or any of the later games that I'm the only participant in. Before starting, Leconair asks for a couple of clarifications of the rules 1. Will they take turns alternating and dropping all the piglets down before the first color is announced? If it's just one each, when will the other five be dropped? 2. Is it that they can move one appendage to an open circle after the announcement, and then attempt to grab at a piglet with the free hand (hopefully it's a hand), without the three appendages planted on the colors leaving the circle? 3. If they already have an appendage on the color called, can they put an appendage on a non-matching circle, and still score? And get piglets? The rules are somewhat confusing, and Leconair wants to make sure he doesn't unknowingly break a rule here.

Well, he wants to try some arrows, too, but I sure hope the arrows come before the drinking." Laughing, Leconair continues with Johan to the contests. Pleasure to meet you, Aeldon. The name is Leconair, and thanks for the drink. With a second tip of the glass, Leconair takes another nice swig before continuing. I fear I am not comfortable with armor, unless you have mithril to work with. Of course, if you do, I fear I would not likely be able to afford it.
