About Lantesh

Background:

Lantesh grew up in a small village near the edge of the shadowlands. Each person worked hard in order for them to survive. When Lantesh began to manifest his nature, he was taught the ways of the hunt. No detail was considered beneath notice, a small rock overturned, part of a leaf eaten away, even the droppings told a tale. Lantesh realized that he loved the hunt, albeit in a different way. He was always good at finding people.

Lantesh' tribe had been chosen to provide bodyguards for a particular noble house. It was a great honor to serve as such. This had been so for many generations.

It wasn't until he was out on a hunt that he returned to find his village in shambles. He found the tracks of the raiders and followed them. As he saw what remained of the villagers his heart stopped. What he saw made his blood run cold. They had his sister Yanwe. She looked like she had been hurt in the fight back at the village. They would all suffer for that. There was another girl who he had seen before but never met (Anwyn).

He waited until nightfall to make his move. The leader was gone but the remaining bandits were gathered and seemed to be having a good time. They had Anwyn serving them food and drink. She was fiesty that one. One of the bandits was trying to get her to come closer but she was having none of it.

Lantesh used this opportunity to attack. Roaring with rage he went straight for the nearest bandit. They were caught off guard and he killed every single one. Only the villagers remained and the girl. Making his way to Yanwe, he found that she had succumbed to her wounds during the fight. Anwyn was the only one left.

His eyes turned to Anwyn. "I have nobody left to protect. I was her guardian, and I failed. I will take you back to your home."

He escorted her home. As penance and for saving her, although he does not know this for his failure to protect his sister, he was charged with watching over Anwyn. Without question he accepted for it was Siol. He became the protector of Anwyn. He would not fail again.

The image of Yanwe will haunt him forever.

Description:

Lantesh is tall at 6'4" and 240lbs. He has cat green eyes and shoulder length white hair. He doesn't carry any weapons.

Personality:

Lantesh is generally quiet. He has a no nonsense way about him, and when he speaks it is to the point. He is very protective of Anwyn, even overprotective at times. He obeys her without hesitation.

Special Abilities
--------------------
Animal Form (Su): Once per day as a standard action, you can assume the form of an animal, as if under the effects of a beast shape I spell. The type of animal depends on the type of lycanthrope you are: weretiger— Medium cat. Starting at 5th level you can take the form of a Large animal of the appropriate type (e.g., a brown bear, dire boar, or dire wolf),as if under the effects of a beast shape II spell.

Damage Reduction (Ex): Starting at 1st level, you gain damage reduction 5/silver when in animal form. At 2nd level, you have DR 5/silver in your hybrid form, and at 3rd level you gain DR 5/silver when in human form.

Improved Low-Light Vision: A creature with improved low-light vision can see three times as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of dim light. It retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions. Characters with low-light vision can see outdoors on a moonlit night as well as they can during the day.

Natural Armor (Ex): Your natural armor bonus increases by +1 per lycanthrope class level you possess. The maximum such bonus in humanoid form is +2; in animal or hybrid form you receive the full bonus.

Scent (Ex): Starting at 1st level, you gain the scent special quality (you gain the effects of this quality in your humanoid and hybrid forms, not just in your animal form).

Beast Heroic Path

  • Level 1: Vicious assault, wild sense
  • Vicious Assault: The beast is so vicious and aggressive that he can tear enemies to pieces with his bare hands. He gains two claw attacks. At 6th level and 11th level, the beast’s claws deal greater damage as shown on the chart below. Because these are natural attacks, the character may make both claw attacks at his normal BAB. He also qualifies for the Improved Natural Attack feat.
  • Wild Sense: At 1st and 16th level, the beast may choose either low-light vision or scent as a special quality. If the beast already has low-light vision and chooses that option, he becomes able to see three times as far as a human in poor lighting.

Weapon Familiarity Varyag may treat broad swords and bearded axes as martial weapons, rather than as exotic weapons.
