"That does sound rather relaxing," the Lady answers, the tilt of her head placing her gaze away from the two men. She curiously looks at the perfume bottles, picking several of the more intricate ones up to examine them closely.

So, Lady Gabrielle is wondering whether any of these perfume bottles may have belonged to any of the missing people we know about? People like Druman Kalistocrat Obenna Sirara or Enlina Charthagnion of Cheliax? Maybe she can figure out where some of the perfumes came from based on their scents or bottle design, and maybe be able to guess at the owner that way?

Also, how many clothes chests seem to have clothes in them? Does it seem like there are three peoples' worth of clothes in the chests, or fewer, or maybe more?

She decides to make conversation while sating her curiosity. "How did you find yourself in this faraway place, if I may ask?" she asks the gnome.

"We know that our mutual friend is not the first guest of the Shrine. It appears that some guests enjoy this place well enough to stay awhile. Who could refuse such hospitality," she says as she takes curious steps across the room, stopping only to turn towards Iko and delicately gesture towards the elven woman in the midst of some enjoyable activity.

"Now, I wonder which room this is..." she says as she resumes her steps toward a room with a pool of water inside.

"Your hospitality is greatly appreciated," the Lady responds with a warm smile. "Might we receive a tour of the Shrine first?" she asks, gently waving her fan as she speaks.

Knowledge(religion): 1d20 + 10 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 10 - 4 = 7 -Sweet, Lady Gabrielle's deity is all over the place!

Seeing no immediate threats, the Lady enters the room as if she were an expected visitor, her heels making gentle sounds from underneath her long dress with each curious step she takes.

"I must admit, I have never witnessed this particular interpretation of the Melodies of Inner Beauty," she says to the group, as she gives one of the statues a gentle tap with her closed fan. Just afterwards, she gives her glasses a quick adjustment and opens her fan in order to keep the scent from overwhelming her.

The Lady gently closes her fan and fixes the position of her glasses as she begins to speak. "That seems an appropriate entrance, especially now that the doormen have met their end. I will note that if a scuffle breaks out, I will likely slip off to find Brythen Blood, so that we might escape before all of the denizens of this place are upon us."

The Lady gently taps one of the moonbeast's tentacles with her closed fan, then steps to one side and pushes one leg out from under it. As it stumbles and falls (I hope) she opens her fan and slashes at its amorphous body...

Heroism and other medium-duration buffs would be pretty sweet, since we're probably going to enter the place next.

"Any magical protections provided would be most appreciated," the Lady comments, unable to refer to her fragile form, as she invisibly opens her ladies' fan.

She will, though, put up a shield out of her vibrant purple prism.

The Lady will try to Stealth this approach if there is any cover anywhere to use.

Considering that they don't have mouths with which she could converse with them and learn of this place, she is all right with dispatching them.

"From the sound of it, dispelling their disguises might be ineffectual, and they might possess the ability to restore the ruse with a simple thought. I am sure we will manage with them disguised. It is likely that whatever lies underneath is much less pleasant than the illusion, as well."

You mean the abyssal mosquitoes here don't normally chatter amongst themselves?

"With Brythen Blood's fate in our hands, I insist that charging in blindly is wildly inappropriate. Do you want the entirety of this realm upon us, Iko?" she asks.

"The presence of a door indicates that the demons enjoy the company of guests from time to time. Let us present ourselves as a group of them. If they try to murder us, I can certain that we are capable of defending ourselves."

Looks like the front way is what we have in front of us. We should probably check for hazards before knocking, of course. The Lady gets a 38 on Perception.

"With a dash of good fortune, we may find ourselves catching the residents unaware," the Lady comments. "If the situation becomes chaotic, I will likely attempt to slip away and find our mutual friend, or another of their recent victims. The longer we stay in there with our presence known, the more demons will be given the chance to overwhelm us with their teleportation. I trust that Iko will hold the line in close quarters."

The Lady adjusts her mist-formed glasses, trying to make out the runes. However, a fog that has been in her mind since arriving keeps her from being able to focus clearly.

I like veil a lot. As for the direction, Lady Gabrielle's logic is that we go in the same direction the two fleeing succubi were going before we interrupted them.

There's a larger question that really needs to be answered here. Is every decision point going to consist of:

Iko: "Let's fight things."
Lady Gabrielle: "Let's not fight things."
Cael: "I'm good either way."

Meaning that Apex is the decision-maker, under Iko's simplified vote-plan?

If we answer this question now, and pick a default path of combat-train vs. bypass, we can save ourselves a lot of time.

Umm... what would we miss that's worth slogging through days and days of harsh moon-jungles? It just seems silly to have great magical power and not use it in this instance.

Also, when you're flying at sixty miles per hour, that five round demisting time should never be an issue. If you see something bad, just fly a few miles before demisting.

And of course, the longer we travel, the more chances the demons have to anticipate when we'll be coming and prepare for it.

And one other thing... Why is it on the Lady to think practically? Why are we even having this discussion? There is not exactly a need to murderhobo through the jungle. There is no railroad here.

How we doing, everyone?

"I would imagine that any possible pursuer would be incapable of catching us at the speed we will be enjoying," she insists. "Thirty seconds of minimal risk seems preferable to days, or even weeks, of certain danger."

"Has the misty-cloud approach been considered?" she asks, gently opening her fan as she speaks.

"I can hardly call myself a diviner, though I did observe the demons flee in that direction," the Lady comments, delicately pointing with her fan.

"It was nothing of note," she replies. "One can travel great distances with a spell of magical quickness and the right pair of shoes." She then looks down to inspect the heels for any damage.

She has Skill Mastery in Acrobatics along with a few other skills, so she's good.

Okay, cool...

When shantak turns its attention to Cael, Lady Gabrielle gives her glasses a quick adjustment as she watches its approach. A moment later, she grasps a fold of her dress and slowly closes her fan, standing aside as it lunges at the wizard. Then, once her ally (edit: Apex) flies toward it, she hops towards a nearby boulder, then leaps off of it, gracefully rising a full thirty feet skyward and just high enough to land on the distracted creature's back as gently as can be managed.

The Lady then turns her head to watch Apex's flight, crouches to maintain balance, then at the right moment, stabs at its neck with the tip of her ladies' fan.

Spend a ki to raise movement speed to 80', then take 10 (thanks to Skill Mastery) on Acrobatics for a 65 (+35 normal, +12 haste, +8 from ki movement. She always has a running start, and her jump DCs are halved, so that gets her 32.5 feet of high jump elevation. She's also using Acrobatics at 45 to bypass the approach AO.

Then she'll ready to attack the shantak once it's threatened by an ally...

Fan w/flank, haste: 1d20 + 26 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 26 + 4 + 2 + 1 = 41 for Fan sneak attack: 1d4 + 13 + 6d6 ⇒ (3) + 13 + (4, 1, 2, 2, 1, 1) = 27

Then, if an ally hits it in melee...

Opportunist AO: 1d20 + 26 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 26 + 4 + 2 + 1 = 47 for Fan sneak attack: 1d4 + 13 + 6d6 ⇒ (1) + 13 + (5, 2, 5, 6, 2, 6) = 40

AC rises to 37 if she lands a sneak attack.

Quick question... How far down did the shantak which bit Cael come? What's it's elevation?

Stay on delay.

While Apex and Iko deal with the remaining succubus, Lady Gabrielle quietly considers the foes they will likely be dealing with. Was Brythen Blood captured by succubi, or is this Insatiable Queen something else entirely?

Lady G just chilling out still?

Short version is yes.

When the demons turn and flee, the Lady stands from her crouched position and relaxes her shoulders. She smooths out a fold in her dress as she notes the direction and speed of their flight.

Delay. She'll make note of the direction the demons are heading, though.

Dragon Style is pretty straightforward, off the top of my head.

I've got a question... Does being on the moon affect jumping distances at all?

If it's as normal, Lady Gabrielle will just find somewhere to take cover (Stealth 45), but if not, I have an idea.

I like it! Lady Gabrielle is naturally suspicious of an ambush, but the night entrance works well. Note that the pass-around trick doesn't actually work, though. You have to wear the ring to stay invisible.

"Excellent," the Lady says. "They will be entirely unaware of our slipping by them."

"The primary objective is to uncover how the gate can be activated," the Lady says. "Then we will be in a more viable position in which to deal with them."

"That gives us a majority and I suggest we proceed. Gabrielle, any objections?"

She slowly pushes her glasses a bit further up the bridge of her nose, her expression one of displeasure and restraint. "You are certainly an adherent to your deity's ideals," she matter-of-factly answers. "I offer no further resistance to the persistent storm."

It appears that this little expedition just became much more dangerous, she considers.

"Perhaps you would be able to get that closer look, Apex," the Lady suggests. "I would assume that your invisibility magic would suffice."
