Background Story:

Lacrima, Human Druid is the daughter of Aeonax and Valmoria.
Aeonax was the High Priest of the cult of Lissala around year 3950 AR. He dedicated his life to the cult and became the High Priest, knowing nothing else but faith. He also swore to dedicate his life to find a way to reawaken their master, the Runelord of Sloth, Krune.
Valmoria was an Irrisen human winter witch, granddaughter of Baba Yaga, the daughter of an Irrisen queen.
"This love is just wrong", Valmoria told Aeonax.
They were just two wrong people.
Aeonax, a pawn of a thassilonian runelord of a former empire, a human that spent his life travelling the world, trying to find a way to resurrect his master.
Valmoria, as the daughter of an Irrisen queen, would have had to follow Baba Yaga at the end of her mother's reign, a sentence that was equivalent to or worse than death. The reign of all Irrisen queens lasts for 100 years, and she was born after 50 years, in 3963 AR.

They met each other when Valmoria was 20, in 3983 AR, when Aeonax came to Irrisen, seeking for the winter witchs aid in his quest.
He wanted Valmoria's mother help to resurrect Krune, as he thought she had some useful information about the place where he was and about the ritual needed to reawaken him.
They met in the castle's corridors, in the time he was a guest in Irrisen. They fell in love instantly, so hard he had almost forgot why he was there.
The only thing that he cared about then was how to escape with her, as her mother wouldn't allow it.
They had to find a way to avoid their fate, they had to find a way to live their life. Surely escaping the castle would have meant death, or worse, always running for their life for the rest of their existence.
They just wanted to live a mortal existence, a way to live their time until their natural death, loving each other the best they could.
They wanted it so hard, and Aeonax found a way to do it. They had to prepare a ritual.
A child was secretly born from them, in great secret, and they called her Lacrima. They awakened ancient powers, and they signed a pact with fate itself.
Fate's promise was that Valmoria could reincarnate in Lacrima, taking over her, but only in a moment that Fate would have chosen. This was exchanged for Aeonax's own life. After that, Fate would have told her what to do in order to recover the life of the dead Aeonax, as a renewed man.
This would have allowed both of them to die, and return to life afterwards, as different people.

Aeonax sacrificed himself, time passed, Valmoria raised Lacrima and was then taken by Baba Yaga, but before that, she brought Lacrima away from that place of evil, and left Lacrima in a fishermans' village in Varisia.
Lacrima grew up as an orphan, with a gift given by her parents. A steel ring, with no magic properties, but so closely tied to the bond with Fate they made.
In the moment they ring started glowing, the moment of reincarnation would have been close.
In the years of youth, she spent a lot of time in the woods surrounding her village, developing a strong bond with nature. Magic ran in her veins, inherited from her parents. She started developing druidic powers, and understood how to become a friend of nature pretty easily.
She decided she had to move as her magic was not seen as a good thing in her village. She became a bodyguard, travelling with merchants and protecting caravans from thieves, using her bonds with nature the best she could to protect people. With these people she found herself a place in the world, and she was considered for what she could do. Lacrima has a NG alignment.

One day, the ring started glowing, and Valmoria awakened. The reincarnated Valmoria in Lacrima mantains all Lacrima's memories, with Lacrima exiled in Valmoria's mind, watching and staring her own body move out of her will.
While Lacrima was a good, naive person, which cared a lot for others, Valmoria is a really weathered woman, and knows how the real world works. As a princess in an evil country, she learned how to lie, murder, plot and betray people when needed. But, she also knows how to be nice with allies, and generally she is not evil and mean when it's not necessary. She would do anything the ring asks to fulfill the pact with Fate.
She wants only to spend her life with her love, that will be out there, somewhere waiting to be found.

The ring told Valmoria what she needed to accomplish to resurrect Aeonax. An image appeared, the Ustalav banner. Valmoria, using both Lacrima's body and name, as she did not want anyone to know her true identity, travelled there. The ring was telling Valmoria to seize a powerful magic item from the possessions of a noble family in Ustalav, an item that could resurrect Aeonax. Or at least this was what the ring wanted Valmoria to believe. Valmoria tried to sneak in the nobles' estate, and also killed a couple guards meanwhile, but she wasn't powerful enough and got arrested. The murder of two guards was enough to spend the rest of her life in prison. But strangely, the ring did not give a feeling of failure. Probably it knew this would have been the right outcome.

And now it glows again...
