The more mundane creatures that prowl the river defeated, it was time for the group to face off against the tribe's sorcerer. One of the strongest kobolds around, they are still no match for the trio's combined strength.

Looking up briefly as the dragon makes another slow pass over the area, but miraculously does not land, Kyra shakes her head to clear her vision. For a moment, she thought she saw a huge crocodile climbing from the water, and had cast an enlargement spell on herself in response. But now, the crocodile is nowhere to be found, and instead she finds herself looking down (way down) at the tripwire of one of the kobold's many traps.
It lets out a burp of fire - Ugh, brimstone. Where'd they get brimstone out here? - that fails to even blacken her boots. Peering at the device from above, she can see precisely where to cut to disable the whole thing.

Striding forward with her companions again, she is nonplused when one of the tribe's champions puts himself in her path. She cleaves him in half with her gigantic axe with barely a thought.
Se is hit by a twinge of remorse before his body even hits the ground and decides that maybe a nonviolent path might be better. As the group leaves the glade and comes upon the river that runs the rest of the way to the village, she puts her weapon and her combat spell aside in favor of focusing on her prayers and healing.

Kyra climbs down from the cliff and looks around the area that her allies have been scouring. She hears the burble of a nearby frog and when she moves to pick it up, she spots the adventurers that they have been seeking.

As her allies explore the storehouse and find nasty termites that swarm out to attack first one then the other, Kyra's attention keeps being drawn to the activity of the unholy pig that is cavorting about the nearby stable. Deciding to do something about it, she strides over to the other building.
Before she can engage the monstrosity, however, she finds an old pirate's spyglass hanging by the door. As she picks it up, one of the farmhands still alive runs over to hide behind her skirts, pursued by a little troublemaker. She chases the latter off with a good shake of the ax, at which point the young laborer shows her his pet slug.
Sending the young man off to safety, she finally turns her attention to the zombified hog, a grim smile on her little green face. Among its remains she finds a number of surprisingly well-preserved bits of parchment.
Returning to the storehouse, Kyra is convinced she can make out fresh eyes skulking in the shadows... more than the one farmhand has survived thus far!
